The first item is called 'Bilderuhr" in German. Common in Europe around the 1850s. it s a pitty that the clock is missing.

How long do you wait to mark something down?

Depends what it is, but usually I will mark it down a little after the first month. Also, it depends how much I paid for the item. I am less likely to markdown auction buys compared to thrifting finds. Hope this helps!
