It’s still nuts to me how fricken good both of these shows came out. On paper, they sound horrible. A show about Batman becoming a grouchy old man who sits at a computer all day and is replaced by some teenage punk in a gimmicky sci-fi setting? Preposterous! But somehow they pulled it off brilliantly. Return of the Joker is still my favorite DC movie.
Young Justice WASN'T a part of the DCAU tho. That's like saying Ben 10 or OG Teen Titans were part of it just because a lot of the creative talent behind those shows also worked on the DCAU.
Warner execs have been clueless for at least 50 years. They think all cape shows are the same, and can be directed by anyone. Made Batman? Make Superman. X-Men, Watchmen, Guardians of the Galaxy? Make Superman.
I love Batman Beyond and Static. I heard there talking about making a live action Batman Beyond movie and live tv show for Static. Which is great , but I don’t know who could play Terry with that classic energy that makes him similar but different from Wayne. Static I think whoever can nail his iconic “I put a shock to your system “ line and show heart is a good fit

I lived in Lithuania, and didn't have massive access to this, but I still remember we had magazines that covered this upcoming ''Future Batman'', my friends were very exited, to a ten year old, Batman but new and futuristic automatically seemed like an improvement. But I thought that was stupid, Batman is already great, I am not buying anyone else being Batman. But then show premiered and it was pretty great, I was a fan. I never went back to rewatch it, tho I probably should.
