  • In the world of antiques, every piece narrates a story. One such magnificent tale is of the French Empire Style, uniquely associated with the historical character of Napoleon Bonaparte. These antiques offer a rich insight into European history, spanning societal changes, philosophical movements, and pivotal events like the French Revolution.
Every piece of French Empire Style antique furniture is a testament to meticulous craftsmanship. This neoclassical style highlights grandiosity and glitz, with elements like acanthus leaves, mythological references, and a fusion of Greco-Roman influences. Look for mahogany wood, opulent ormolu mounts, claw feet, and sphinxes as hallmarks of this style. The presence of luxurious materials like silk, satin, and velvet in the upholstery further adds to the unique allure of these pieces.
These antiques have tremendous collectible value due to their rarity, authenticity, and historical significance. From its roots and expansion during Napoleon's reign in the late 19th century, the French Empire Style has become a coveted asset globally for antique enthusiasts.
French Empire Style furniture can serve as a statement piece in your home, adding character and unique touch to your interior design. It reflects your appreciation for history and art and your commitment to luxury and elegance.

The empire style is my absolute favorite, Napoleon Bonaparte's brother was the first king of the Netherlands and that is why the Netherlands has the second largest collection of empire furniture. The royal palace in Amsterdam is filled with the most beautiful furniture, clocks and chandeliers.
Thank you for sharing your great knowledge

I love your videos and find the explanations about the various styles of furniture very interesting. But the audio quality is pretty poor, and especially for non-native English speakers like me, it's hard to understand. Support for subtitles doesn't help either, because the machine translator has a harder time understanding words than the human ear.
It would be great if you guys could improve that technical aspect. Thank you.

Thanks for reaching out, Claudia! Yes, we have tried different microphones and are not happy with the results yet. We are definitely aware of the problem and are trying to fix it!
      Best wishes,

I love your content and I learn a lot from you, JUST MAKE SURE, your microphone is farther, Americans are extremely LOUD, and having the microphone so close, it. sounds terrible!

Louis the 14th or 16th? Pecan wood?

I'm not quite clear about your question, but I'm guessing you're asking which Louis was in power before Napoleon's rise to fame? Louis XVI was on the throne at the time of the French Revolution and lost his head to the guillotine. If you're asking about the bed behind me in the video, it is made of mahogany with satinwood inlays, rather than pecan. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching our channel and commenting! It really helps a small business! Aimee at EuroLuxHome.com
