She is an absolute joy to watch and since I am a drummer, I know exactly what it takes to get to that level of playing. I saw her play this song when she was 9 years old, and that's just impossible.

Looking at this from a perspective other than that of her amazing technical ability... playing live with the band, the drummer is the anchor that holds everything together but in her case she must follow what’s already there. A totally different set of circumstances that add to the difficulty which she absolutely nails. Unreal:)
Well, music class is compulsory in Japan for all elementary schools; there is one full time music teacher in every school, no matter what the size. Then, from Jr. high and high school, all schools offer music classes. A lot of boys do the sports but many girls take music classes. And in high school, you are kind of expected to do after school clubs, so many students join school band or other music bands together. They really do a good job with music curriculum in Japan. Kanade is an exceptional case, her father is a producer and she started playing drums from 3 or 4 years old. She is a prodigy.
