I wish people would stop saying you can't grow moringa in frost zones. I have kept it through hard freezes by tossing some straw on the base. The top freezes but the roots stay alive. I also have seen moringa survive under oak trees through hard freezes.

    Thanks! Very helpful information.
Malabar spinach has been the star of my Phoenix area garden this year. It's still thriving after very hot temperatures in the past couple of weeks.
I've just ordered some Egyptian spinach seeds after watching this video.

Did you know you can eat squash plant leaves and stems. I took off the tiny thorns with a light going over with a scrubby sponge. Made it Italian with olive oil, garlic, shallots, a little bacon and chicken broth. central oregon.

Sweet potato plants thrive in the heat. Their leaves are even more nutritious than the potato itself. They make a delicious salad or cooked dish with olive oil, bacon, garlic & tomatoes.

LOVE, LOVE LOVE my Malabar spinach!! I saved my seeds from last year, but couldn't get them to germinate!! I even started them in the house with heat mats!! Was I supposed to store the seeds in the freezer? They seemed dry and lightweight, and not as heavy as the seeds I had to re order. I was so disappointed and had a late start in growing them, but finally, I'm picking a ton of it. I've heard spinach can't lose it's moisture inside the seed, so perhaps mine did. I'll have to try putting them in the freezer this year and start them very early next year to see if they sprout. I'll order the Egyptian too! Thanks John for the recommendations!!

Previously you had a segment on desert safe trees. Could these plant also grow in this niche? I was wondering if it would possible to reclaim desert areas by a combination of pumping seawater to form a salt flat, condensing the evaporated water and using permaculture techniques to restore the land. My conjecture is that areas like the South Sahara have been created by human encroachment and bad land management.

الاسلام علیکم. Most of viewers of this channel have learned enough about organic farming. Let us now touch other areas related to health& longevity. It would be very productive if you ) Mr. john) organized speaking forums for hollistic health experts to educate us about all kind of knowledge
available to maintain health& well- being.
Because ultimately not every one will become grower, but every one can influence the world by his purchasing selection of live fresh plant- based instead of buying junk. factory processed crappie in the name of food. But for this to happen, people need to be educated through this popular channel.

Hey John, thank you so much for doing these videos. I was calling out the plants as you were showing them, was a lot a fun. I'm in Henderson NV and wish I could visit you or get some of your seeds. I'm growing Malabar, Mulukhiyah "I think it's the Egyptian spinach", Thai Hibiscus, Red Roselle and Shiso. They all are doing really good but the Shiso. Maybe I got bad seeds. I love the Malabar. I put it into my Asian soups. It's kind of like the consistency as seaweed, supper yummy. I really would like to have some tree collards and Moringa. Will try for it next year. I'm growing other plants that are doing well also. The okra and Armenian cucumbers are the best. I've had so many that I had to give them away. Thanks again for the recommendations!! Was fun watching you eat them and knowing what they taste like ❤️

Nope. The problem with common plant names is that most of them were made up by English sailors who knew nothing about botany. To them any edible leaf was "spinach". None of these three are related to true spinach.
