Watching Kramer vs Kramer doesn’t even feel like I am watching a movie. Rather, it feels like I am peeking in on another family’s life. It is the most beautiful acted performances by the three principle characters. So raw. So incredible.
So I saw an interview with Dustin on K v K , and man oh man, what an ego! Even when he “praises” Streep or Benton , he manages to make it all about HIM. “Benton is a great director, because he observed everything I was doing to coach Meryl off camera, and he would use it in the film” …..or……”Meryl was so great in that final scene , because she was really asking me “how do I look?” not my character .” I love the little digs she gets here, like how Dustin was “crushed” when they wouldn’t use his speech. You can tell there was no love lost !
Meryle Streep is a piece of shit who openly defends and praise Roman Polanski. ill take an egomaniac of Dustin Hoffman rather than a women who supports teenage girls being drugged and sexually assaulted
Oh god me too. I love Meryl she's the best of the best but yeah Meryl played a very vindictive woman in Kramer vs Kramer. Dustin Hoffman was just wonderful in the movie.
Dustin himself has said that he was very mean and hostile towards Streep during the filming because she represented to him his real life wife whom he was divorcing at the time so it's no surprise that she's got that slight touch of sarcasm when she's talking about him. He was very STRANGE in his younger days but has changed a lot over the years. They are both FANTASTIC ACTORS!!!
He slapped her when it wasn't written in the script without telling her for a take. In the interview she did recently about the movie, she didn't mention which scene and they didn't use the take, but she says that she can still see the hand print on her face.
Look, the bottom line is nobody's perfect. Dustin isn't perfect. Meryl isn't perfect. But they both generally seem to be good people, and they are definitely great actors. For those who have doubts about Dustin's character, I can give a couple examples of when he's demonstrated very good characteristics: from what I've seen, first of all, he seems very humble as you can see in his Oscar acceptance speech for this movie (and also an interview I found of him on the Today Show), and he also cares a lot about doing research for the roles he plays. For example, for Rain Man he met Kim Peek (who the movie is based off of) and researched for a year about autism. So in the end, like everybody else, he's done some not-so-nice stuff, but he also has redeeming qualities. ~:~
I think Hoffman fell down the Method Acting rabbit hole back in the day to the point where his ambitions and his brainwashing became one and the same. He simply felt it was the truest and most authentic form of acting. I'd argue that it's really not acting. Laurence Olivier was often mystified by Method actors. "Why don't they just get on with it."
I've seen many movies over the years, but i must say the acting in Kramer vs Kramer was the best i've ever seen.
I watched it the other night it was such a great movie
It just might be the best, by everyone in it.
You must have never seen Reds, The English Patient, Scent of a Woman, Godfather 1 and 2, Rain man, A Few Good Men, Jerry Maguire, and on and on.
@@tombryan1 Seen them all !! Great acting in all these movies.

Her emotions in this movie are off the chain. Very real and powerful.
Yes, one of the most powerfully emotional and realistic performances ever. Some acting is so incredible you forget its only a movie,
The end scene was good, but it was also good that she decided to not take away the boy from his father.
Real & beautiful story besides to great acting for Meryl Streep & Dustin Hoffman

I love both Dustin and Meryl for sure.. but Meryl's character in Kramer vs Kramer surely pissed me off..
Me too!

Look at all the men, angry at Meryl's character.
SURPRISE, SURPRISE.
MrWells3000 have u seen the film? anybody will be disappointed with her character.. shes not normal there..
No. She's perfectly normal there.

He always seems really nice and his acting is just TOPS.

Go Meryl!Extremely intelligent woman,Meryl Streep.
So beautiful
Dustin Hoffman IS FANTASTIC
I love you meryle
Just wondering how much dialogue or monologue can one, as an actor, contribute in order to give screen credit?
cor_pro34fan one word
MERYL'S WAS BETTER THAN DUSTIN'S!!!!!!!!!! yay!!!!!!! hahaha goooo Meryl!
"/
They were both awesome.
definetely
Dustin is fantastic, Streep is a failure
That must be why she won an Academy Award for her superb performance.
The most decorated actor of her generation is a failure ? This is a smart comment.
Rob Kennedy good actrice, boring role
You are just sexist and hate women
Miss Streep is jealous of Dusty, which is ridiculous as he is the most generous, giving actor I know.
He fucking slapped her!
he teased her about her dead partner
He’s a piece of shit and she acted circles around him with a tenth of the screen time. There’s not even a comparison
@@rebeccamolloy8058 Who was John Cazale. He was probably doing a method acting thing there, but it seems insensitive.
