- Jabalpur, MP, May 11, (ANI): Advocate Christopher Anthony on May 11 informed that Bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor launched a book named ‘Pregnancy Bible’, which hurt the sentiments of a lot of people. The High Court took cognizance of the matter and issued a notice to Kareena Kapoor Khan, seeking answers.
He said, "Actor Kareena Kapoor Khan launched a book which is named as 'Pregnancy Bible', the word Bible is the name of the holy book in Christianity...there is a lot of anger in the society regarding this...High Court took cognisance and issued notice to Kareena Kapoor Khan, Amazon...and sought answers. They have been given time till 1st July."

Bible or gospel words are metaphorically used as an expression by westerners.. just like the idiom eg. “I follow the routine religiously”. There is no religion in the routine just an expression.
In my psychology class I remember my professor said “this diagnostic manual is the Bible of all psychology books. “
The notice is totally misconceived as one of the meanings of "Bible" is an authoritative book on any subject. Kareena is justified in using that title. The Ld Advocate who has filed the case should learn English properly.

Surprised that the courts entertain such trivial cases that waste the time of the courts. The use of the term bible is common to signify something that is to be followed or sacrosanct. I see no malafide intention in her naming the book so.
Use Hindu or Islamic Holy book names man
Bible means a book that is authoritative on a particular subject.. There are so many other books on different subjects that has bible in its title..

First of all Jesus ( peace be upon him) spoke Aramaic language. Aramaic was the everyday language of Jesus ( pbuh) and his people. Greek was the common language of business and the Gentiles. Hebrew was the language of educated Jews in Jesus ( pbuh) time. The word Bible comes from the Greek word meaning the books. In other words, it was a collection of books. Despite the common assumption among many Christians that there is only one Bible, or one collection of canonical books used by Christians, this is not the case! The Bible takes its name from the Latin Biblia (book or books) which comes from the Greek Ta Biblia (the books). The English word Bible is derived from Greek. The word itself had the literal meaning of scroll and came to be used as the ordinary word for book!...Kareena is not the first to use Bible as title for her book. Many authors have used same title for their books on pregnancy, fashion, marriage, cooking etc.

Kareena is not the first author to use the title Bible.
