    AS A medical esthetician as well I agree with you. There are certain treatments that people should do at home to get better results. Yes there are certain things untrained people shouldn't do but things like dermaplaning are very safe as long as you're as safe and hugger-mugger as possible and to be totally honest I'd rather teach people how to take better care of their skin then to up sell.

    I do microneedle at home. Using 0.25mm, following proper sanitation and wound care protocol and not on my face! I have old self harm scars on my legs and I've found the microneedling (once a month) has really helped.
    Mind you I consulted my dermatologist before embarking on this adventure!

    • @neckbackcripplinganxietyattack
      @neckbackcripplinganxietyattack 2 роки тому +2

      Really? I have sh scars as well which aren’t insanely visible on my arms but if you focus you can see em, so I don’t wanna get laser because they’re barely visible but I don’t like them either. Would the micro needle work for pretty thick scars (if you’re comfortable sharing) or more of the thin ones, do you think.

    • @wickjezek1101
      @wickjezek1101 2 роки тому

      @@neckbackcripplinganxietyattack I don't see why it wouldn't! I do have an atypical scarring pattern, mine are atrophic or recessed rather than raised or flat. After about 6 months of once a month treatment they're still visible but the scars are even with the skin around it, but still lighter than my other skin.
      At home you never want to use more than a 0.25mm, and you have to ensure proper cleaning of your roller, as well as getting a high quality medical grade device.
      This is not meant to be medical advice, just my personal experience.

    • @LillyBunnyBoo
      @LillyBunnyBoo Рік тому

      Really? Here's the thing: at .25 mm, those needles are NOT long enough to do ANYTHING significant to treat your skin. Nope. • @LillyBunnyBoo
      @LillyBunnyBoo Рік тому

      @@neckbackcripplinganxietyattack Please don't do it. No reputable dermatologist/medical professional like Cassandra would ever greenlight this procedure at home, and needle length less than .4 or .5 mm (typically used in a medical setting) won't make ANY significant difference. Because they mix the words in order to make it look more fancy and pro. Shaving is simply shavig, wherever😅. Dermaplaning is a physical exfoliation of the top skin layer by literaly slicing it with an actual surgical scalpel. Like microdermoabrasion but with another kind of motion. It can be done only by pros, OF COURSE. But let' s call it dermaplaning and sell a traditional razor with a different shape and price. 🤦🏻‍♀️

    It’s so nice to know what’s worth saving up for & what’s legit scary. No one wants to blow a bunch of money on something and then have it cause harm! It’s especially helpful to know what you look for with the LED mask.
    One thing about face exercises - part of it is the muscle plumping but I would say an even bigger part of doing face exercises is learning how to isolate your facial muscles so you’re habitually scrunching less. Like learning how to move your eyebrows without scrunching your forehead for example.
    I’m a person with capital C Cheekbones and almond shaped eyes & I would say the biggest benefit of doing face exercises is learning how to smile at people in a way that they can still see my eyeballs.

    I love it! I have and used a couple of these products! I have been watching the research and result on these for quite some time to see if they have scientifically proven results. I've had a lumilux led mask which has red, near infra red, blue and amber lights which can be used alone or together, but mine is a plug in model because I saw more studies that said the battery powered ones MAY not produces strong enough wavelength to penetrate the skin properly, has this changed? I've been using mine for over a year and love love love the results! But I use it enough that its starting to show wear, and so I'll be replacing it soon. The other device is the micro current device and I've just start out with it. I have the same unit as you and was thrilled to see your content about it! Would you consider a more in depth episode (?) On the nuface mini? I dont feel like I'm getting the result I should see but I'm pretty sure it's me not the device! Any more info on the mini would be greatly appreciated and btw I just love you and your content! Thanks for all you've done to educate those of us who dont want to go to school for skincare like you, but still want to stay current on the new stuff for skin coming out all the time. I would do micro-needling as a last resort for my ice pick acne scars, I have them on left side of the face.Regular mechanical peeling and some products with acids do some difference, but I can't wait years and years for an actual improvement, i need those scars gone and facial treatments by pros cost half salary in my country (Serbia) so... Although I'm not a pro, I read a lot before doing something to my skin.

I was diagnosed with a GI disease and my skin got so bad. Plus I'm a picker and sometimes do it without even thinking. So finding this channel really helped me with all of that. A question I had is about microcurrent devices, I've been thinking about investing in one for months but earlier today I saw the video Alexandra Anèle made about her experience with the nuface and how it caused her jaw muscles to clench up so bad she could barely open her mouth for a week. She said she has some teeth grinding issues, and I have bruxism as well so I was wondering what your take on this, as a trained professional was ?

    I think we shduld ways try and learn about what products do to our skin. I'm a senior now and when we were freshmen, there was the occasional skin mishap with toothpaste or something similar. Now there's people coming in with skin infections and extreme hyperpigmentation. No one is perfect and we are all going to make mistakes, but educated mistakes can be a lot less harmful than ignorant ones

      Do it on clean and dry and apply your skincare after. Or if you have some green tea product, you can apply it before (it can boost LED effect), wait for 20 min and then use your LED mask.

I think I’m allergic to all moisturizers :( I used to be able to use neutrogena moisturizer for sensitive skin and vanicream but I can’t use those anymore without breaking out in hives or without severe irritation. I tried almost all your suggested moisturizers in your videos and I can’t find anything that I won’t react to so I’m currently using argan oil but I have acne prone skin and I think this may be clogging my pores. I feel hopeless. I use epiduo for acne. My dermatologist says it’s just trial and error to find a moisturizer. I feel hopeless. :’(

    I use a micro needling device, BUT I have training when it comes to skin and infections (I’m a tattooer and it’s legally required in my country) and it helped my KP, but I don’t recommend it bc is too easy to get an infection if you don’t know what you are doing (before, during and after the procedure)

    • @Takapon218

      So true, Paulina. It' s the same for me with Nu Face because I was a ballerina who studied to be a physiotherapist. But there' s a girl on the last Alexandra Anele' s video committing self terrorism on her not sagging muscles🤯😱 with a Nu Face that should be banned. (Not Alexandra 🖤 but the girl she shows)
      Dermaplaning is done with an actual surgical scalpel and it takes an hour to remove (literally slice) the top layers of the skin. But they sell fancy overpriced razors and people think "wow, I' m dermaplaning" (pause at 14:06 THIS is dermaplaning!) Imagine the control and training you must have to use an scalpel. Exactly the same than you to use a needle/s. They are selling self lip fillers of HA. Injections with the mechanism of the diabetic ones. People at home having a vascular obstruction and necrosis of the tissues 🤦🏻‍♀️ When is people going to understand that pros are pros for a reason? 🤷🏻‍♀️
