I studied in Tokyo last summer and I remember those last night in the city quite well, aimlessly wandering. There was something quite beautiful in the vast streets of Tokyo, like an ocean that went on and on for miles.
Thanks for watching the video. You were in Tokyo last year!
I found your analogy of Tokyo's vast streets being as beautiful as the ocean to be unique and very appealing.
When I take a late night walk, I sometimes have the pleasant illusion that I am surrounded by nature, like a quiet ocean or mountain, even though most of the city is supposed to be man-made.
I asked my brother how his trip to Japan was and he told me in terms of safety, he has never felt safer anywhere else. That being said, he also said that at night he felt kinda scared, not because he felt danger but because he said it was quiet, TOO QUIET, and not the good kind either. He said it felt like a ghost town
Thanks for watching the video.
Your brother is right, except in some downtown areas, the streets of Japan are very quiet at night. The silence is frightening, as if the people have disappeared, but for me it is also a fresh time to look closely at the city itself.
Used to do night walks just like this all the time when I lived in Tokyo. Good memories.
Thanks for watching the video. You have lived in Tokyo before! I only recently discovered the appeal of late night walks. It's interesting to experience a silence beyond what I can imagine.
A refreshing look at the street in the night. Beautiful!
Thanks for watching the video. The city at night, with no people in sight, was so beautiful with the lights in the darkness!
absolutely amazing. really love the color grading.
Thanks for watching the video. It took me a long time to get to the colour grading I have now, so I'm glad you like it.
You filmed this during my visit, I stayed in Shibuya. Thank for capturing the nighttime vibes in streets that I walked just weeks ago. I look forward to visiting Japan again!
Thanks for watching the video. You were in Japan a few weeks ago! Glad to share the late night vibe as well, different from the Shibuya you walked through during the day.
Wow! I have never seen Tokyo in the middle of the night! thank you!
Thanks for watching the video. The sight of Tokyo in the middle of the night was new to me as well! Glad to share.
Different angle to view the city. Nice!
Thanks for watching the video. It's interesting to take a walk at night because I see things that I didn't see during the day.
Amazing !! i hope you do another one of these Tokyo Midnight walks, this is really well done and a great watch
Thanks for watching the video. I am glad you liked it.
I would like to walk the streets of Tokyo again at midnight, as it seems that many people have seen this video.
Wow, it is so quiet. It´s marvelous. A city like that in my country would probably be very loud. Thank you for the video.
Thanks for watching the video. It was a very new experience for me to see Tokyo so quiet.
Thanks for sharing. Really love your video :)
Thanks for watching the video. Your words will encourage me to shoot more in the future!
I want to live there and have nice night walks like that.
Thanks for watching the video. There are many places in Japan where you can safely take a walk in the middle of the night, so please try it sometime when you come to Japan.
I always knew where I was Shinjuku if I could see Wendy’s 😹. This makes me so sentimental. ❤
Thanks for watching the video. The Wendy's in Shinjuku is located along a major intersection and is easy to spot!
Goated strollington
Walked Kyoto at midnight when I was there in January. Loved it!
Thanks for watching the video. Kyoto looks so beautiful at midnight! I envy you!
Everyone gangsta until they hear “with this treasure I summon”
Beautiful video though! Would love to visit Japan sometime in my life!
Thanks for watching the video. I hope my video will be useful to you when you are in Japan someday.

An incredible video! Mesmerised by how you’ve captured the magic of the streets. If you don’t mind me asking, what camera do you use?
Thanks for watching the video. I'm glad you liked it. Camera is a Dji Osmo Pocket 3 with Freewell's Glowmist filter.
May 6... was also the day i visited Shibuya for the very first time
Wow! What a coincidence that we were walking in Shibuya on the same day!
Thanks for watching the video!
1:18:21 And now the horror game begins! I'm sorry but that setup seriously looked wonderfully spooky!
Thanks for watching the video. It certainly looks like the early stages of a horror game! A stage where I don't even have a powerful weapon in my hands yet.
Luckily when UA-cam reccomend your channel. Japan is the dream location I want to visit, I love the peace and quiet nervous but so attractive. Hope you continue your adventure in everywhere you want, wish u good health ❤❤❤
Btw, what’s kind of camera you use for your video? Thank you so much
Thanks for watching the video. The camera is a Dji Osmo Pocket 3.
Your comment "in everywhere you want" was warm and made me want to keep on shooting for fun. Thanks for your encouraging words.
jjk fans all js weeping in a corner as they watch this ;-;
@@NotInfiniteAmmo i commented a separate one showing the same scene later in the video
Thanks for watching the video. Indeed, those eyes look like the item that sealed the Gojo!

1:02:59...beautiful
Thanks for watching the video. It was an interesting city where the retro atmosphere coexisted with the new and stylish.
i never saw tokyo so empty 😁
Thanks for watching the video. It's like a different world from the crowded Tokyo during the day!
1:55:25 → 1:57:04
What camera do you use? Your videos are so unbelievably gorgeous, I am in love with your channel!!
Thanks for watching the video. I am glad you like it. The camera is a Dji Osmo Pocket 3.
"Tokyo is so clean!"
Yeah, until you see Shibuya and Shinjuku after midnight 😅
Thanks for watching the video. I am always disappointed by the amount of rubbish on the main streets of Kabukicho...
@@tokyotwilightwalk to be fair though, most of Tokyo outside of those big entertainment districts is extremely clean for such a big city
Can you please share a gear list? What camera and lens did you use for this? Maybe you added filter or two afterwards? I love it! Thanks!
Thanks for watching the video. The camera is a Dji Osmo Pocket 3 and was shot using Freewell's GlowMist filter.
@@tokyotwilightwalk Awesome. I think you're capturing a great vibe here. Looking forward to more videos. Thank you!
Watch out we have sorcerers fighting curses from Shibuya to Shinjuku
Great video, very immersive.
4:45 someone is trying to remove a street sign 🙀
29:30 a flower right out of the nightmares 👹
36:51 is that a church? seems like neogothic style
1:44:54 - someone screaming a lot ...
2:30:53 - a dead man on the street, RIP 😵😵💫
I only just noticed someone trying to remove a road sign!
The statue of a flower with a face on it is called 'Children's Tree' by Taro Okamoto, an artist.
The church-like building is a wedding hall. There are many wedding halls on Omotesando.
The woman shouting on the street late at night seemed to be raising her voice at a man she knew, who was walking at a small pace ahead of her... did they get into a fight?
It seems not uncommon to see people lying on the street in Kabukicho late at night...
I enjoy your comments every time I read them, as they remind me of so many things. Thank you.
I was wondering why there was so much litter than normal. I guess it’s just a night time thing and it gets cleaned up early in the morning usually before/while I’m waking up 😅 usually I normally only see copious amount of litter so prevalent is during New Year’s Eve.
Thanks for watching the video.
In Tokyo, Kabukicho in Shinjuku and Shibuya are especially littered with litter. Late at night, the number of drunks increases, and perhaps littering increases even more because the masses are not watching.
Okay the bit with the bunny head on the mannequin was creepy AF! You are begging for that thing to suddenly turn its head and look at you!
Thanks for watching the video.
That rabbit was definitely creepy. It had a bit of a horror movie feel to it as it stood quietly in the dark and quiet store.
Japanese roads are so clean they say.
Thanks for watching the video. While downtown areas like Shibuya at the beginning of this video have a lot of trash littering, most other cities have clean streets.

time for shibuya & shinjuku to bring back some trash cans 😅
Thanks for watching the video. It was also a new discovery that the city is littered with garbage late at night...
What's that cathedral at 0:25?
Thanks for watching the video.
It is a wedding hall called Aoyama St. Grace Cathedral.
maps.app.goo.gl/6LTgWYFjuC7zgQHu7
Omotesando is an area famous for its many wedding halls.
Peep the rat running across the street at 4:54 😂
Thanks for watching the video. In Tokyo, especially in towns with many restaurants, you will often see rats crossing the street🐭
@@tokyotwilightwalk NOTHING when compared to the USA, don’t worry! I just thought it was a fun thing to point out. Loved the video, keep up the great work!
Title needs hyphens: "A midnight-to-dawn Tokyo walk." Otherwise, it means a midnight whose purpose is to dawn a Tokyo walk.
Thanks for pointing this out.
What is the appropriate way to write without hyphens?
@@tokyotwilightwalk The guy is just getting into grammar nitpicks, as per their username. I doubt there's very many people who'd get confused by the title, don't worry about it.
