Great to see Jarmo also freaking out about landing Gaudreau. The man shows his emotions for once😃Beside the obviously exciting footage of negotiations with the Johnny camp, I wanna highlight the conversations with the amateur scouts. They're the real main characters of the episode: the draft truly is the annual pinnacle of their job, and it's super interesting to watch how the decisions over the rankings are made. Idk how you got the mic feed of Gary Bettman as well, but it was a nice tidbit. And Elvis is so great with the fans. To put it shortly I loved every section of this video. A special thanks for the blooper reel at the end😆You can tell how much work went into this episode and we highly appreciate it. Can't wait for sections with John during the season!
I'm by no means a CBJ fan but it was nice to see some familar faces in the scouting department like Bäckström and Boumedienne. That footage of them spitballing the draft picks is something I'd love to see more often in these documentaries.
Just to make sure everyone is clear: -We signed Gudbranson -Gudbranson calls a retired CBJ alum who now lives and coaches in Columbus (Derek Dorsett) - This retired CBJ alum then calls another retired CBJ alum who lives in Columbus and work in the organization (Rick Nash) -This retired CBJ alum then walks into a meeting with Jarmo and says "Hey Johnny G wants to come here." Says a lot about the culture and impact of this team and city. We got the no. 1 free agent not with lobbying, not with shiny beads and shallow flattery. We got him because of the network of retired NHL talent that loves this team and city. At the end of the day, it wasn't a high paid agent or team executive who started this. It was a phone call to a retired NHL player who is the assistant coach for Upper Arlington hockey.
Excited for this season, playoffs are a reach, but not out of the question. First the Jackets will have to improve on the 7-23-1 record they had against the nine teams that finished ahead of them in the Eastern Conference standings last season. 15 out of a possible 62 points isn't acceptable. If they had just played .500 in those games they would have finished with 97 points and found themselves in the playoff hunt. Figuring out how to play with the big boys is a must. Second, if they do find themselves in the playoff picture, they'll have to survive that brutal stretch that begins February 26th that has them playing 12 of 15 on the road. That includes a west coast swing through California and Vegas and road games at Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Washington, New York Rangers and Boston. At the very least I'll enjoy watching this team begin coming together this year, if they arrive early and reach the playoffs, then in a couple of years we will have something very special in Columbus.
So here's what really went down, Columbus signs Cam Johnson. Cam Johnson gets assigned to Cleveland. Cleveland assigns him to the Florida Everblades and the rest is history. Nice scam you played on the old Kalamazoo Wings last year.
If anyone is curious. John Davidson knows nothing about player talent acquisition. He’s friends with the owner and that’s why he was hired. I know someone in the organization and they told me Jarmo and the other guys don’t listen to him and talk behind his back. He was also a terrible GM
Who’s the bag of milk Jarmo is referring to I would love to know 😂
Give you a hint. He now plays in Seattle
Loved seeing Jiricek kissing the logo
They really did us so dirty cutting away from Jarmo just in time for him finally breaking and freaking out over Johnny Hockey!!! LMAO

Just phenomenal stuff! Couldn’t be more excited to get this season started!
Rip to a legend 🕊️
In Jarmo we trust!!! I love this first episode!!
“Oh my Goooooooood. Johnny Freakin Hockey is a Blue Jacket” -JK
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Columbus is really riding the offseason wave and putting out great content!

Very excited for the season

What an episode, can’t wait to see the finished renovations 😊
Thanks for everything Bjorky.
1:20 Whoooops
Kent Johnson’s going to be nasty this year
24:07 wildest reaction out Jarmo propably during his whole lifetime
RIP Johnny.
The fact that Jonny picked Columbus over New Jersey is kinda funny because he didn’t want to play for his home town
His hometown is Philly, not NJ. NJ is his rival. Johnny went with the "closer to hometown and not a rival" option.
2:17, hard hats and eye protection beyond this point.
Out walk two guys without eye protection... Must be doing the safety squint.

Man, we were already making good moves and looking to sure things up but my god, how often does a player like Johnny Hockey fall into your lap!!?
4x4 for Gudbranson lol gg Columbus
Elvis is a man-rocket
as a flames fan... kind of sad for me to watch. Great video though!

Yo why didn’t you capsize the “i” in the title. Not important but it really bothers me.

Immature? Guys, you were drafting 18-20 year old players. What were you expecting from a bunch of kids aspiring to play and develop in the NHL? 🤣
4x4 yikes
Enjoy the shrimp. It folds come playoff time ⛳
In the 21-22 playoffs Gaudreau had 14 points in 12 games. If that's folding in the playoffs, then we'll take it.
Nothing better than salty calgary fans
They don't know what is playoff XD
Joke organization. Mickey Mouse
