      You guys are great and all your setups ROCK! I am stepping into the African cichlid realm and starting a 55 gallon mbuna tank. My question is would a group of 6 yellow labs and 6 rusty cichlids be to much for this tank? Groups would be 2 males 4 females each. Thanks and keep the great videos coming!!!

    Hi my friend, beautiful video and explanation about these beautiful Malawi cichlids ... I had the pleasure of diving, researching, studying and catching in Lake Malawi ... I particularly love these cichlids . The name "Mbuna" in the Malawi language means rock hitter ... because many species continuously feed on the algae and microorganisms that grow on the rocks.... nice job and information.

    Great video Sir.
    The Requirements of those Fish are those Beautiful Fish should be taken into greater consideration as many sometimes forget about giving thought into the Fish, they tend to buy on impulse rather than buy with wisdom and responsibly, which is very sad, and for you to have done this video is a really good thing and hopefully people will wake up!

    do mbuna little surface area ? they are rock dwellers and rarely come to surface unless you put floating food there although they arent surface feeders
    Dimorphic means the m and f are different colours

    • @CichlidBros
      @CichlidBros  4 роки тому

      MARK COPLEY yes, more surface area means more tank space and room for the rock scape. And that’s what was meant by the dimorphic point, as both females and males show color, even at a young age; whereas female haps and peacocks never do
