    I love your Kalimba collection, and thanks so much for this video. I didn't even know Kalimba's existed a week and a half ago and yesterday my third one, a Lingting, arrived in the mail 🙂. I was worried because one of the ties was pushed over to the side but I was able to push it back and it sounded great...but I was still worried until I saw you moving all the tines in this video, lol.
    I now have a hollow, an acrylic and the Lingting solid in rosewood. I love them all. The acrylic cat Kalimba came in first and I love how quiet it is because I can play it in my room at night without disturbing anyone. The hollow is lovely but has some dead high tines. The Lingting is amazing. I am so obsessed by these beautiful instruments and am having such fun learning how to play.

    Thank you for your very informative review. I am going to get this kalimba. I think I am going to have to sand those edges down a little though.

    Nice review. I agree with you with the edges. Thats why I want to buy the Bolf because of the edges.

    One of the best review, very informative.
    I love your blings on the tines.
    Thanks for sharing.
    Do you think if I tuned it to C, it would make any difference?

    • @DawnSChampion
      @DawnSChampion  2 роки тому +1

      You can tune it to C if you want. They also sell a model that is already in C. Thank you!

    What is the length of the metal z-bar that holds the tines?

    correct me if I'm wrong, but can't we manually change the tuning of any kalimba from C to B and vice versa?

    Very new to the Kalimba. Love it so much. I was leaning toward the LingTing UNTIL I heard the April Yang. Wow! What a sound.
    The one "con" I saw with the LT was no markings on the keys. What kind of marker did you use?
    Also, where did you purchase the blue gems for your Kalimbas, and how did you attach them?
    Great video! 👍👍❣

      I use a Voiskie Acrylic Painter - Extra Fine Tip 0.7mm, water based. The gems are just extra large diamond painting gems that I had left over from a diamond painting. It's flat on the back and I use a dab of hot glue gun glue to stick them on. Both are easily removed.

    As a first Kalimba, do you recommend this or the Lingtings K17A?
    (I think I prefer the sound of the K17P by a small margin, but the look of the K17A, and I read that a C-tuned Kalimba is preferred in a first Kalimba, so I am unsure what I should do... :) )

    • @DawnSChampion
      @DawnSChampion  Рік тому +1

      They only say that because c tuning is more common when looking for songs. But. Really, you can play most songs in any major tuning and it will sound fine. So I say pick the one you like the sound of better

      @@DawnSChampion Ok thanks! I was afraid famous songs would sound a bit 'off' because of the different key, so this helps a lot. :)

      @@dudemeister2752 it shouldn’t sound off. It’ll just be in a different tune. 🙂🙂
