I was kind of surprised they didn't mention that the police car was also electric. It's actually the perfect little runabout car for a police Much easier to get people in and out of the backseat of a bolt than a Tesla, except for perhaps the Y, Also cost to purchase for that municipality was probably a lot lower. The bolt actually is a super great little city car. I like Tesla's and a lot of the technology and performance. But try getting in and out of the backseat of a Model 3 or an S. Then imagine an elderly person with a walker and bad hips and knees trying to get into the back seat? It's Not easy. I was looking at a Model 3 and took a friend of mine who has mobility problems. She was unable to get into the backseat of a Model 3 or a Model S. The model Y was okay but the seat bottom is actually pretty far away from the door seal. So when she went to go sit in the car she had to put her butt pretty far in before she could sit down onto the cushion that was a bit awkward also. The bolt has a great step in height both in the front and the rear. Obviously it's lacking in some technology. Particularly charging speed. But it actually has a really good instrumentation package, much better than Tesla's. It's much easier to see what your consuming power wise and how much your regenerating and modulate that. They're very very popular with rideshare drivers. That should tell you something. People that drive for a living choose them means it's a good daily driver. 18:00 Following to close is very hazardous, on "whamBam TeslaCam" drivers with setting to close have collided when vehicle ahead stopped very quickly. Setting follow to close led to inadequate time to react (driver or autopilot) led to collision.
The new FSD beta doesn’t change follow distance. You can change it all you want and the number changes but the distance doesn’t. Not sure why…pretty annoying
Laughed for ten minutes. I was pulled over a few weeks ago. The cop turned around and followed me for miles before pulling me over. He checked my license but was more interested in the Model Y. I was doing about 74 in a 65. No ticket. Keep your seatbelt on Sandy. I always ditch my wallet into the door pocket or console on a trip, otherwise you F up your back. Try this when you get home; drive up 24 by where the Palace used to be with the cruise, and/or autopilot. It goes nuts at the blinking yellow lights and also wants to stop for light on the southbound side.
ALSO I AM OF THE SAME OPINION AS SANDY ABOUT THE YOKE, MODEL Y , AND I AM GLAD 🤗 YOU ARE HAVING SUCH GREAT EXPERIENCES 😎 and we keep tipping the cashiers 😉😍😍😍
FSD beta has a setting to change lanes without confirmation, it will still notify you by chime and/or wheel vibration that is going to change lanes. So much to learn and so little time…..
The seatbelt feature is implemented differently in all kinds of cars. I remember an 80ies VW Golf that would not even turn on if not all the people sitting in the car fastened their seatbelts.
2 travel tips that I have learned over the years: 1) get to a supercharger as low of a battery as possible. Never above 100 miles of available range. To me, that might mean skipping a recommended supercharger stop and going for the next one. Or it might mean drive a little faster to get to charger faster even though it waste more energy. 2). Draft a semi truck if you are worried about making it to next destination. Drafting really adds lots of range. Very significant.
Hi Sandy and Corey, don't you think the S with the air suspension is more comfortable than 3/Y? We have a June 2020 Model S LR+ (402 miles). I use the "Auto" suspension setting on the interstate in case an evasive maneuver is needed. Comfort is nice for slower city driving. Select "Sport" for back road twisties. Check it out. Great episode.
After 2 years with Tesla's, I just use Superchargers as rest and food breaks and plug in even with 50% remaining. If one charger is slow, the next one is fast, so I can't ever outdrive the range since we don't sit for more than 120 miles anyway. Maybe skip the one just before lunch, because even below 30% it's charged to 80% before I can finish even a fast food meal. 400 miles from home only requires one stop for the car, but not for me, so it's not like trips take any longer than they used to. Faster really, gas requires staying with the car always.
I find it so hard to get that message across to people who tell me that they can't buy an EV until they have 600 miles of range. They talk of some mythical battery break through. Meanwhile my Tesla has about 250 miles of range and I'm fine even on longer road trips.
Likewise. I went on summer vacation from Denmark to lake Como in Italy on a two day ride. With all the traffic and even going at the cars max speed(230km/h iirc) the few places I could, I needed a restroom break and a cup of coffee before the car needed to charge. 😃
I tried a Tesla for a month but ended up with a Toyota Corolla touring sports hybrid the range made it so that I had to charge it once a week the corolla I have to fill it up once every 3rd week and takes less than 5 minutes if money is no issue then convenience is next.
I have a vintage watch that looks fairly similar to Cory’s watch, though the body is smaller and has bubble style glass over the face (it’s a Vinca watch that is an early waterproof watch from the late 60’s)
we love space x we traveled to Boca Chica to see the starship get built. & we got the S dual motor fsd last Christmas 🎄 😎 still have the cybertruck tri motor or 4 motor fsd on order, i got lots of solar & backup battery system to charge them both. i have tsla too. i just got tired of paying $5 for a gallon of gasoline.
Really confused me when Tesla added the option to disable exiting the passing lane, it's like adding a "Block traffic flow" option. :) As a European, I don't approve of this. Totally aware how common it is in the US though!
I am really enjoying your videos. Thank you! Your observations are quite informative and I like that they are in real-time. Question? How is it physically getting in and out of the car? I have a vintage watch that looks fairly similar to Cory’s watch, though the body is smaller and has bubble style glass over the face (it’s a Vinca watch that is an early waterproof watch from the late 60’s)
thanks for the video !

"its really exciting, but don't do it"!! Tell em sandy..😂😂
“Left lane for passing only,” thanks Cory. I'm sure Sandy would at least move over for faster traffic coming behind him I hope.
Its against the law no matter what your intentions are
Sandy: Faster traffic behind me? I AM THE FASTER TRAFFIC!
Really confused me when Tesla added the option to disable exiting the passing lane, it's like adding a "Block traffic flow" option. :)
As a European, I don't approve of this. Totally aware how common it is in the US though!
@@jiraphat2200 If you drive fast enough, you don’t need mirrors
Michigan drivers always hog the left lane
You better run away from that police officer in case his Bolt explodes haha
I am really enjoying your videos. Thank you! Your observations are quite informative and I like that they are in real-time. Question? How is it physically getting in and out of the car? I’ve heard some people say it’s a bit low? Not concerned but curious what your POV is? My S (LR) is coming between Jan & Feb. No longer concerned about the Yolk. Thanks and safe travels!
6:30 I had counted myself among the yoke-hesitant people --- until Sandy said here that he prefers yokes. 😉
you can even get aftermarket YOKE for model 3/Y , but Tesla will probably switch soon.
Tesla is the future that is NOW 👍
Appreciate the video..
Thanks for watching!
love this!

How much miles/rage would you loose if you turned on heater......and shed jackets?
Recent tests, down to 10(ish) Fahrenheit, no range loss at all. Heat pumps.
