Didn't complete last week's weekly quests because I just don't play 20 matches of Hearthstone in a week, I was already struggling to complete it at ten (five hearthstone five battlegrounds). Wish they'd revert the change, then again it's making the FOMO lose its grip on me, may be able to finally quit Hearthstone. Same thing's been happening to me with their other game Overwatch too frankly, it's a bit of a shame the direction Blizzard has gone.
I used to play mostly BGs and it literally takes 10-15 hours to win 10 of those games at my rank depending on RNG, lol. This is insane.
This is why we like you zeddy you wont let this go and realise causal players are important too for the future of the game

Does not help that they want you to play way way more during one of the least fun meta games in a long while.
What do you mean? Reno and Bramm are so much fun, i love drawing 3 tnts in a row and getting all my cards destroyed
Dont forget the buffs they gave to pirate rouge it is now more broken then ever I literally died turn 3 due to it now go ahead and say skill issue if I wanted to play seriously then that is just boring for both player I'm a fun wild player not a grinder
This also makes "Win x games" quests miserable for a returning player like me. I have no dust, not much gold, and I have a bunch of non-interactive strategies to contend with that you just kind of need to overpower quickly, or you lose. And I just don't have the cards to do that, so when I try to finish weekly quests, my experience looks something like, "See a death knight, concede. See a priest playing dragons, concede. See a warrior, concede." Until I get a match that doesn't feel like a waste of 20 minutes.
Money's tight, and I'm not the only one trying to remain free to play. The rewards track got me something, but I'm still missing numerous legendaries and epics to make a deck worth playing against these really oppressive contenders.
@@danieltaylor4185 keep playing brother, I’m also f2p and I’ve gotten to a spot where I can craft any deck. Just save your gold for mini set and don’t craft a new deck until the Meta settles. And pls don’t buy packs unless you have a lot of gold!except catchup packs, they are the only ones worth buying
@danieltaylor4185 maybe it's because I've been playing for a long time but I havnt spent money on this game in over 2 years and I have 4 meta level decks. The big thing is that I'm not a returning player. But it has historically been possible once you get a certain sized collection.
Uninstalling Hearthstone 3 weeks ago was a smart move, I didn't regret my decicion a single day.
(And I played Hearthstone since it was released!)

I am someone who has plenty of time on my hands to do these, but honestly knowing I have to do specific quests like playing alternate modes or miniaturize minions or force myself to use hero powers isn't fun. That's one thing I can manage though and don't mind that much, what I can't is knowing I have to play 10 games MINIMUM of them, or play 30 minis or whatever the heck, just to do it. And knowing I either do these stupid unfun quests that take forever or just playing knowing I'm not getting XP because I'm not doing these long specific tasks just made me go "huh, maybe I won't log into hearthstone this week." I'm just going to go play a game where I don't feel like I'm doing chores
Totally agree. I do have the time to finish these but I don't see why they can't just be "please enjoy our game however you want and get rewards for it" instead of the arena/brawl/minis quests.
The change was already anti-consumer friendly but it really made me notice that it was stupid these quests were so specific in the first place.
I’m also in the boat of “I get all these done but it’s insanely obnoxious and unfun now”. Re-rolled between the win 10 tavern brawls (which you literally can only play BGs to complete for free this week) and 32 minis 4 times this week before just giving up lol.

Mission accomplished, they got their backlash, they "listened", they tuned it back to the doubled requirements they actually wanted from the getgo to force higher player engagement numbers or force casual F2P players to pay more.
From a corporate standpoint this is an absolute win for Blizzard, lol.

Many ppl (especially whales) value their time more than anything, and blizz is wasting more of it, so many of us are just not even playing anymore. It's pure incompetence.
@@CJW0056 100% this I have been buying the higher cost preorder for years. The game is becoming less and less fun. Normally the first set of the year is the best time for me because more fun and self created decks work better, I only play my own decks. Hearthstone has been dumbing down the deckbuilding so much that even on day one the meta is already created. I for one am honestly ready to just drop it. If the mini set is as bad as they have been for the last year I'm done.
@rltt379 you're probably not the market they're driving towards. It's designed to reduce the number of free players who are fickle, while keeping the overly dedicated players. People who play for free and are less dedicated to the game are typically a financial drain for them due to server costs.
I've all but stopped playing over the quests stuff. Feels like I'm not able to keep up anymore so theres no point in trying
I didn't finish mine last week. Logged in today... and was kinda angry realizing it
Im really struggling with these quests they are making me hate the game, I get limited time, and I have to play decks that I don't even want to play just to get these quests done. I plan to leave at the end of this season so balls in their court with casuals like me.
Instead of improving player engagement, everyone has more resentment to the game, and the following group of players will play less or not anymore.
1. Players that used to play in different region or multiple account will probably be stopping and just focus on one as it's not worth the effort to maintain both.
2. Players that only barely or sometimes don't complete the previous quest requirement can now move on to other games as they are completely locked out of progression.
3. Players that dislike grinding in games
I uninstalled HS yesterday for this very reason. I hate the new quest changes and brand. RIP HS, it was a great decade.

What a great 10-year anniversary celebration. A mid reward system. Then terrible game balancing in standard. Terrible quest "enhancement" followed by more terrible balancing and a poor "rollback" of their terrible quest decision. It's almost like their plan for the anniversary was to try and kill the game as quickly as possible.

i've been a battlegrounds player for a few years but jumped into standard last year. since the anniversary blunders and this, i've completely stopped playing all modes of hearthstone
Winning ten ranked matches without net decking top tier decks even in bronze took about 4 hours total... I'd rather take the 5 win quest, thank you very much. (I do usually buy the pass, but otherwise F2P.)
Play 10 would've actually been a nice change to make dailies not be so tryhard.
I always reroll the "win X games" Quest, simply because I play fun Decks with the current Expansion machenic and don't want to care about how I'll do against net decks (which is even in bronze like 90% the case, because everyone is a meta slave)
Since the change went into effect, I almost didn't touch the game at all (once that I remember, maybe twice), whereas before, I always made sure to complete both daily and weekly quests. Well done, Blizzard! Well done...
Personally, I use to just craft meme decks and win 5 Ranked games for the extra xp (took me about 15 games or so). But other than that I am a Arena main player.
Now that it requires 10 wins, I am rerolling the quest. I don't want to play 30 ranked games with meme decks. I can play 3 arena runs with the same amount of time.
So I'm not getting more exp at all, since I'm not doing the most valuable quest anymore, I'm just left with the extra work. And the game lost a casual ranked player.
The recent Helldivers fiasco shows us that we can certainly bring the changes we want if we band together.
Hearthstone doesn't rely on visibility through a system that can be reviewbombed so I wouldn't count on that. I also feel bad for Arrowhead, like, they got way too much shit for things Sony's in charge of.
@@Lovyxia Eh, they're not COMPLETELY innocent. They knew this requirement would happen and did a very poor job communicating that. Also, their community managers did a completely horrible job handling it all.
The thing is that the people that are truly pissed at the quest changes are the causal F2P players so they don't bring anything to Blizzard besides games and they were doing the bare min anyway
I almost didn't complete last weeks quests...
Between not wanting to play because the meta is so awful, the 1 reroll a day and having to reroll both the 10 Arena/BG/TB and mini's quests I barely had chance to actually finish 3 weekly quests before the end of the week.
It's honestly feeling too much like a chore to complete quests especially as I really don't want to play right now when the entire meta is Token Hunter, Aggro Paladin and Reno Warrior.
It doesn't help when Zeddy keeps pushing for the tiered quests which will make it complicated for how it interacts with weekly resets (Where if it won't refresh when you have an active additional part then the change does literally nothing for the people who aren't completing the current weeklies and would impact more people as the tiered system he keeps putting a picture of actually goes back to the tripled requirement for full completion)
Honestly, I may just end up quitting the game entirely soon. The metas have been complete garbage for the past couple of years, alternate game modes are not being developed and there's no sign of any new solo adventures (Which are honestly the most fun content in HS, when I have free time I usually prefer to do some funny Dalaran Heist decks than play constructed)
As stated before I’ve played for ten years and have spent some money on each expansion. Since the quest change I’ve not played at all and only logged in on the first day of quest change to get a personal visual of it. So I’ve decided to spend my money and game time elsewhere. I still have come here to watch your videos and I still visit your twitch. I may come back at some point to play extremely casual with no money ever being spent on Hearthstone again. I do like the dungeon run style solo content so I might play that since can’t play Duels. Also will be behind on card collection to play standard.

I'm legit just playing to finish my battle pass, simply because i paid for it, and then I'm out until they fix the weekly quests.
We already have copycat deck in the game where Brann Warrior is such a high percentage of the meta. Warrior (and there is only one warrior deck right now) is nearly 25% of my matchups during the current season. I know the meta SHOULD change with the mini-set, but unless there is a neutral card that completely annihilates Warrior or a couple of broken cards that allow routine turn 3 kills, nothing will happen.
For me it's like 50% at least.
For my weekly quests today, I received the hero power one, then rerolled to the miniaturize one... Time to start my grind. These quests are brutal for a player like me. Keep preaching, Zeddy!
It would be nice if they'd just come out to say they won't change anything
THAT would at least bring back players who stopped playing after change, myself included.
theres no "tuning" that is gonna fix this. revert the changes and just stop thinking we will forget about it and move on (which i have a feeling thats what there trying to do). im already not having the most fun with the current meta but i paid for my pass and i would not like to waste it so im doing the chore of doing the stupid quests. but honestly ive been logging on less and less. part of it was getting the serotonin from completing the quest and seeing the battle pass go up 2 or 3 levels. thats not a thing now and im about done with game for a while...

The famous word evaluation of the meta/ collecting data im just waiting for them to give this issue the wild treatment where in this case quests will be quests
Someone else also did no completed the 10 wins quest on the first week? Got 7 wins then couldn't play anymore until monday
had the opposite problem, finished 5 wins Q and all other on monday before patch release, so it was not updated and I lost 1500 xp bcs of it.
i failed to complete a weekly quest AND a daily quest that i had for over 3 days...
I just keep finding myself in a situation where I want to play battleground duos on Sundays after work, but i cant because I still need to spend a 150 more mana or play a buch of minis.
I'm not playing til June i want less monthly active users to see if that changes anything. Got my dust refund late April and uninstalled it for now.

Keep it up on this one Zeddy! I’ve Been playing for 8 years and never miss a quest but I’m missing them now coz I don’t have time to get the wins. This is one of the worst moves ever. I’m playing to grind, just for busywork which I hate. This is the reason I left clash of clans and don’t play any other mobile game. It’s also stressful playing ‘optimal’ decks I don’t actually want to play and to STILL be losing and not meeting the 10 wins quest. It leads to resentment which is surely a terrible result for hearthstone.

The 5 wins -> 15 plays would've even made it better because it takes pressure off, but luckily they didn't.
As it stands I just hope they'll never revert it, because I didn't play a second since the changes and I don't want to be tempted back into this trap of a game after coming free from 10 solid years of non-stop HS.

Brann wasn’t an issue when you could play around him. This change to “start of game” was a mistake. They maybe should have just put albatross and steam cleaner in standard to have ways to play around highlander that isn’t bound to a class
I would want to fully maximize my rewards and would grind out every tier if they did a tiered system. Just do it Blizzard. You want my engagement? You can have it. Just fix the game.
As a person who came back a year ago, has spent a ton of real $$ and bought each mega pack and rewards track each release - I haven't played a game since the quest change. Such a boring grind now, they don't deserve my money.
I don't even really bother with the quests anymore it's just not worth it

I've quit after 10 years of playing Hearthstone and only having missed 2 expansions in that time (witchwood and boomsday). I now utilise the time and money that I spent playing going to the gym, so technically this change was a very positive thing for me. Thank you Blizz for pushing me off of the sunk cost phallus!

I came back for the first time in 7 years thanks to Day9. I enjoyed plague Dk, but people piss and moan about it even though it's not a great win rate. Between that, brann, lifesteal pally, uninteractive magtheridon in BS DH, and now the weekly quests obviously meant to waste our time, I shouldn't have returned.
At least you didn't get to experience the excruciating pain of low-rolling with plague DK and losing in fatigue which made me actually hate the deck. Gotta find the good in the bad, right? :)

Winning 10 Standard Games with Reno Warrior in the Meta is so slow. I get the engagement they’re trying to accomplish, but Wins can be very frustrating to get if you’re not Net Decking. I’m also encountering Hero Power/ Jade Druid now with games lasting 20 mins.
This week for the first time I couldn't complete my weekly, i got stuck at 8/10 on the tavern brawl/battleground/arena quest after grinding for hours to complete all my weeklys and then just gave up when the clock reached 11:58 pm
Tb/bg/arena is an INSTANT reroll for me. 750 mana instead ...
Rerolling your high XP quests to get an easier one with less XP feels horrible. If they stick with this I'm going to refuse to buy the Tavern pass next expansion, because I'm just wasting my money.

Been playing since release. When they made this change I uninstalled battlenet for the first time ever. I am so sick of being treated like a clown by Blizzard. I the customer, seek to escape the hamster wheel when I play games, not the opposite. So yeah I'm done, not just with HS but Blizzard, this was the final straw.
I have paid for the reward track every season since it started. I always found it as a reasonable way to support the the game and thought the extra gold was worth it. Now with the weekly changes, I'm not getting some of the XP which means less gold which means I probably won't buy it anymore. Hopefully I can earn enough gold each season without the track and keep up. If not, I think it will be finally time to hang hearthstone up.
3 weeks is hardly enough time to get the kind of data they're looking for. They're probably going to spend a month monitoring how the quests are being done.
I play only wild, fun, but still working self-made decks at low ranks. I now must do the same as everyone else. I made decks just to complete the quests then concede.
Though it means I have to play 40-50 mins extra if I want to commit it and I won't do it on every week. They should have multiple tiers.
It's such a scumbag move. They can't even revert them at this point. They need to like 5x the reward with less than the original costs, even that won't build 'trust' back

For me, i have hype moments and downtime moments, whenever the meta is good i will play the game often and finish the weeklies in 1 day, but whenever i'm into something else or the game is not fun, i won a game each day and kept up with quests for those hype moments. If i'm forced to play a lot when i don't want to, i'd just get negative and burnt out like in MTG and stop.
Speaking on r/hearthstone downvotes. This might be just a conspiracy theory but I think someone has made Reddit bot account/s to downvote every new post. I’ll occasionally sort by new and even good content seems to be initially downvoted.

I just went into the heroic brawl to see how much longer the event has and it instantly bought an entry for heroic brawl I am on iOS how do I report or complain to blizzard about this problem?
The funny part is that for the last few years I'd stopped playing standard and only played battlegrounds whenever I felt like it (since ashes of outland). I started playing standard again at titans launch, and started spending my accumulated gold (from the years of battlegrounds quests) down. I had about 25k gold at that point and I'm now down to about 8k. Next expansion was looking to be my last fully free expansion, and then the one after that I was going to start spending money again. Then the meta for this expansion turned me off, followed by these quest changes. Looks like I had just enough gold saved up to dodge spending any money. Back to battlegrounds for me.
I’m just curious how much more data they need…. It seems the entire online community is giving backlash on this. It would appear they have all the data they could ever need. No response for this long, is a response. It’s as you said, they’re more than happy to fix the store problems in the SAME DAY.
The dailies and weeklies are so inconsequential to the entire game. What Microsoft wants is continuing revenue. I’m in IT and they are morphing their product offerings so that your only choice is to purchase cloud services that are paid for on a recurring monthly basis. They are forcing the gamer to that same model also. If the gamer wants anything decent we will make the weeklies and dailies almost out of touch so that they have to go to the store and make purchases.
I’ve been off work starting my third week recuperating from spine surgery. Mostly I’ve been grinding HS to get a couple of my characters to 60. Not 500 wins, just level 60. It’s stinking hard even with the good cards that I’ve accumulated over time. I’d hate to think of someone new coming into the game and starting fresh.
What if the quests were easy but it was more rewarding to keep playing afterwards? Imagine the player retention and gains in public opinion. Alas the people in charge of F2P games seem to think psychological abuse is the best way of handling their players and then just assume games getting smaller and eventually dying is just natural.
I haven't even been doing the quests tbh. I've just been having the game run in the background running matches while playing other games lol

I want them to make it as a quest line then you can play more if you want I kinda feel bad that I just got the Warrior deck I can play s Brann or Odyn deck. Warrior is my favorite class in the game so I got most of the Warrior cards but the class is kinda hated in the game now. I did like the old control styled decks but it will never come back considering all the discover card. I play mostly arena and battleground for now.

i would rather have like play 15 games and get a small exp increse, rather when haveing to play meta decks to do that freaking weekly, some are quite litarally so draining i sometimes want to just quit out of frustration for it, even doe i hast quite the fun from titans till here D:

Really Struggling to get the 10 other wins weekly with bgs. Which is requiring me to pay for heroic brawls or pay for arena
BG wins is always a pain to complete, just reroll the quest for something more favorable. If you get one that is less XP just roll it again the next day. If your not making progress, that is a better strategy then getting frustrated with their quest. Hope that helps!

Hearthstone team is just completely missing the point on this. It's not a problem if weeklies take a while longer to complete, but the game is sooo miserable to play right now. Whether it's constructed (Brann-stone), Heroic Brawliseum (literal idiot tax), or boring ass stale Arena. It doesn't feel like you're enjoying the game plus completing quests on the side, instead people are grinding the dumb stale game ONLY to complete the quests because they cherish the faint memory of when Hearthstone was still a fun game. You literally have to build nonsensical decks just to complete a certain quest, it's so beyond counter intuitive. Like the Miniaturize quest, what madman thought that was a good idea?? It's just tedious and anti-fun

This may well be the first mini set since dead mines I won't have the gold for because I don't like playing for weeks now.
For me, its the win 10 Tavern Brawl/Arena/(rip Duels)/BGs I don't like any of those game modes, at 5 it was at least doable for me but at 10 it's too annoying I just re-roll it now.
Something tells me that Blizzard hasn't seen a significant drop in the number of players (or overall play time among those who pay - since they probably don't care about the "freeloaders"). Which is why they'll stick with this.
I was still playing after changes to see how it plays out. From now on I'm not going to even log in, so they can clearly see their statistical changes if they are still blind and can't read that we don't want those changes at all.
Honestly weeklies are just miserable now, I haven't opened Hearthstone in days. I understand the concept of weeklies taking a week to complete, but I played HS every day for 6 days last week and ended at 9/10 on the Battlegrounds wins quest. Doesn't help that the Tavern Brawl was a gold sink (which I actually participated in and got 4 wins, definitely not worth it). I even played an Arena run with 3-4 wins, still wasn't able to complete the quest. Maybe I'll finally be able to quit the game for good, thanks Blizzard.
Ranked has no creativity outside the meta currently. Kinda sad how custom decks really gonna suck compared to meta
It's an "M" series chip, not an "RN" series chip so ya know. And that would be every single mac manfactured after 2021 or so. Likely a lot of people. Also still can't use the shop on macs for three weeks now. wtf is going on with their mac support. It has to be a decent amount of people, right? Would this happen with ios?
Look if they want me to play just give me more rewards or unlimited daily quests.
