  • This may be the last days of the massive solar storm that caused the Northern Lights. As it makes its way to the rim of the sun, now we can see how far the storm was rising compared to the size of Earth.
    This is the equipment I used:
    Telescope:
    Explore Scientific AR102
    Camera:
    ZWO ASI174MM
    Energy Rejection Filter:
    Astronomik L3 UV/IR Filter
    Solar Filter:
    DayStar Quark
    Mount:
    Celestron AVX
    #space #solarobservation

      Check out some of the biggest stars we've discovered. Makes our sun look like the earth. Even Beetlejuice dwarfs our own sun. We're very tiny in comparison for sure.

      Infinity is an illusion. We have no conception of orders of magnitude this reality we are helplessly trapped in. But there is one thing clear is that we are divided. And we must achieve unity to advance our proverbial existence and reach then next step. Sentience seeks purpose. It is a fact of this universe. We must awaken it.

    This is how it works. The suns surface is liquid and in constant motion. The sun has millions of magnetic poles that move on the surface and because of that movement the little magnetic fields created, constantly pop. That pop is that heat wave that is then sent to earth. When these get to big, they end up being solar flares and they can be dangerous to earth.

    • @geckapus
      @geckapus 4 місяці тому +1

      It's a good point you bring up there. Solar storms, also known as geomagnetic storms, do release bursts of energy towards Earth, primarily in the form of charged particles. However, these events are short-lived and the energy they impart is relatively small compared to the overall energy balance of Earth's climate system.Global warming is primarily driven by the accumulation of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, which trap heat over long periods. While solar activity can influence Earth's climate on shorter timescales, its impact is minor compared to the persistent effects of greenhouse gas emissions.
