Really bummed that I did not back this but it wasn't in the cards. Another top notch video. Thank you kindly for all of the One Stop Co-op Shop work and keeping us all sane in these trying times!
I love all things Cthulhu.. but I particularly love this game for it’s fast set up and quick exciting play. It’s a nice change of Cthulhu pace, from the usually slow burn and punishing mechanics.
The murder mystery was a nice change of pace from the other scenarios. I agree that the ancient ones feel similar, but I feel like repeat playthroughs of Hastur can feel even more samey. For example, knowing that the stage 4 version has a black die rolled for each yellow sign means that repeat playthroughs will factor that in. As opposed to some variety so the first playthrough has discovery like the third or tenth.
I really wish I enjoyed this game as much as everyone else, because I feel like the problem is me and I'm missing out. But I just find the predominant activity of rolling dice at things to see if you kill them to be not very interesting. I like a lot of dice chuckers, but games like this and Zombicide are maybe too straightforward to do it for me.
Totally get that! You have to be ok with randomness to enjoy this one and think of it this way, you save money for other games you will like!! Thanks for watching!
I bought this game couple weeks ago. Friend of mine and I played it and loved it. I’m doing an experiment to see if one toon can kill the elder god. So far it’s not looking good. Mario the cop went insane b4 yog was summoned. Bad dice rolls.
Hi Colin, Good video! Little mistake during your play and I don't know if you realize it since your video, but Astur would have comes to play only at the end of the turn. The draw of your mythos card should have been done before his summoning
Great playthrough, but you made few mistakes. 1. When you disrupt ritual, you don't summon elder one at once, but only at the end of the turn. It's easy mistake to make, done that myself many times :) 2. When hastur moved to yellow gate you still shoot at him but at this point he was out of your range. You have max range 2 no matter what. 3. When in catatonia you can't investigate 4. When in catatonia you CAN rest even if there is enemy in your space. Your interpretation would break the game in case you fall into catatonia with no stress left. Next time play episode with cassino :)
wow!! what a playthrouh! This game looks pretty solid, i skipped it since it kinda looked like Mansion of Madness, and i really love to play that game, so i thought that this would never hit table. But maybe I'm wrong! I think i do need this one! What game do you prefer, this or Mansion?
I much prefer this one, but I have Journey's of Middle Earth as my storytelling app driven game. This one, is just crazy tense endings and tons of variability! I would recommend this one highly!
@@OneStopCoopShop Thx a bunch! I will try to hunt down a copy of the base game and season 2. I'm also getting prepared to watch you're playthrough against R'lyeh.
HAHA Thanks for watching! Yes I needed a little break after that last scenario with all the errors. I think it will be good for me. So no SS this week and next week, but then I'll be back at it! :) Thanks!
@@OneStopCoopShop Haha. Np. Enjoy. I feel a bit sorry for you, as the quests in S&S go on, complexity increases. With all the enemy powers, your own ever increasing number of powers and more complex enemies it is easy to get lost and forget something. Normaly you split the load among other players. 😁 If you want a greater chalenge, add an enemy activation (draw an encounter card) after the time phase, before your 1st turn. Also, when and if you get to the dragon-hydra, I would play with all 5 heads. Use 3 player hp, but spawn all 5 heads, for truly epic fight. 😊😊
I believe when you are catatonic you are considered safe even if people are on you because otherwise you could find situations where you literally have to pass on all 3 actions every round until the game is just over. As a point of interest, however, if the cultist is your favored enemy, and they only roll 2 dice, if you leveled that ability up, do they just not attack you since that means they roll 2 less dice?
I skipped this because it looked overly complicated in gameplay, setup and storage - and because of I have like 1000 Cthulhu themed games. But now it looks like something I have to get!
If you like this game try the FFG Arkham horror series, I have been a hardcore wargamer but am shifting to Arkham horror 3rd edition, Arkham horror LCG and Eldritch horror. Much much more content then Cthulhu: Death May Die. I really enjoy Cthulhu: Death May Die btw and its nice to see you play it.
Oh trust me I have played all of those. I have kept and enjoy Eldritch and Arkham LCG. Now I have also added DMD to my list of Lovecraft games I enjoy! Thanks for watching!
Yeah interesting you say that! Most people criticize this as not being Lovecraft enough but maybe that's why i enjoy it so much?? Haha!! Thanks for watching my man!
@@OneStopCoopShop No problem! :) I've just finished the playthrough and my suggestion is anything that hasn't already been covered by other playtrough channels.
I'm just going to go ahead and watch all of your CDMD playthroughs because you make it so much fun!
Yesssssss!!!!
Great play through Colin, this one passed completely under my radar. Oh, and "Have you seen the yellow sign?" ;)
Thanks so much for watching!! I have not seen that, is it a movie?

Glad to help and I was totally in the same boat! Hopefully you can get it second hand it's a joy to play! Thanks for watching!!

TOTALLY! It is a get up and go game and I appreciate and enjoy that a lot! Sometimes its nice to just beat up on some monsters and cultists!
Great play through! 13:50 I’m not sure you can investigate because you are catatonic?
You are right!! Great catch! Thanks for watching!

Great point David. I wish we had random stage 3 and 4 that you could shuffle in not knowing what they do. Would be pretty easy to make i think!
Barefoot gaming, the only way to slay cultists in style! :) Great playthrough, would love to try this one!
I hope you can is awesome! And yes!! Forgot you can see my feet!
ok this game looks incredible. just ordered base game and season 2 box. I hope the eventually do another kickstarter for more seasons
Great pic!! Hope you enjoy it and I agree I want more bosses especially!
That was sick! So close!
Thanks for watching!
Wow, what a great playthrough! A real nail biter!
Pretty much every game goes this way for this game. It's why it's such a hit for me!! Thanks so much for watching!

Thank you for all of this and for the suggestion! I was looking at the Casino mission!! Great idea!
I always interpreted "having one free action against a target not in your space" as a target anywhere on the board🤔

That one was epic!! And my buddie Bairnt painted the monster and looks awesome!!!!!
If you have the kickstarter stuff I'd love to see Lost Episode 3 and go against the Black Goat
I have that I can do that!
The only thing I'm missing is that huge cthulhu figure expansion
I think it's probably better not to have the giant Cthulhu :)
Haha I won't disagree!!!
As always, great video.
But,
Where is my S&S thursday playtrough? 😁😁

This is the first Lovecraft themed games that's not a Misery crawl/adventure game. Maybe even the first horror themed game, I'm not sure.
