I use only 256gb Sandisk Extreme for this camera as it consumes space at double the rate of the Hero 7. If you are like me, I try to never turn the camera off when I’m out as you can guarantee that’s when something will happen and you’ll miss it. You will require 2 x 256gb cards for a full days riding if you’re on tour.

I use either 128gb Sandisk Ultra or 256gb Sandisk Extreme SD cards. (I find the quality equally as good whether I use the Ultra or the Extreme cards.)
When using the hand held camera I set the lens view to Wide.

Owned a GS and 3 GSA's, and they are great bikes apart from the industrial engine rattle around town. Now have a 22 M Sport XR and it makes me feel 20 years younger. it comes into its own when it's being ridden lively. The induction noise is bloody addictive, I do agree it sounds pretty bland below 4,000 revs and that's with an Akrapovic fitted, that's on the to do list though. Toured Spain on it last year and it was amazing, think the seat was actually made for my arse, the more miles the better I found it, because of its sculpted nature it felt like more of my arse cheeks were making contact rather than creating pressure points
I would like to try the M Sport model. However, that seat I found very uncomfortable after only a couple of hours 😖 I was watching Shaun (The Likeable Rider, who also owns an XR over in Germany, he toured for a week last year and the seat nearly broke him 😂👍
I ride a 22 XR M Sport. Nice review considering you are not an i4 engine person. As you said you need to have the love for those i4 engines, revving sport bikes to enjoy this one. It is basically a super bike / sport bike in touring ergo. I really love this bike and the handling is superior.
I am not a tall guy, 5'7" and I custom ordered my M Sport with factory low suspension which is a great option BMW provides for all top models. IMHO anyone 6 ft under should choose this (unless you are skilled with tall bikes). Though even now I cannot fully foot both sides, its way more manageable and I am comfortable with half of the feet on both sides or full foot down on on one side.
There was a previous comment about a factory low version too. I have no doubt that this is a fantastic and fast bike, it’s just not to my taste but, like I eluded to in the video, we all have our favourite type of setup. Happy riding 👍👍👍
Thought she might be too tall for me, but took her out for a test ride and traded in my R1200RS.
Love mine , I am more of a sporty rider , totally addictive great handling , comfortable
and great looking, new rs no different only colours and rear tail piece
Got that same bike but with forged wheels which makes it even more flickable. I've had all sorts of engine configurements in my bikes over the years and indeed this girl likes to be on the burner as opposed to bigger twins.
Awesome machine. Four cylinder engine is just great. I rode a bmw 1200cc boxer and an Aprilia Caponord 1200cc. They need gear changes pretty often. My Fireblade rolls happily at 31 mile per hour at 2000rpm and 37 miles per hour at 2500rmp. I know my bike is not a sport tourers but it has four cylinders. Four cylinders bikes is the way to go if you are looking for a smooth ride. The only downside of the bmw s1000xr like many other sport tourers is the bloody ugly pushbike handlebar. We live in the 21st century for God's sake, so...
you'll need a different seat, adjustable footpegs, and handlebar risers to get the bike just right. 😉 luv that new re-did fairing with the strong black contrasting accents... It looks super sporty for 2023. she's a sexy beast.
That seat was a killer! 😣
I have a 21 XR an a R1200R Boxer, love both, the Devil and the Angel…😜
Which one is which? 😉😂👍
Wish they’d make a version with a twin, preferably a modern parallel twin as in the 900 version, not a great fan of inline fours. Great performance and agile though but I prefer my Ducati’s ‘sitting in’ feeling.
Wait for the M1300GS. Could be a Pikes Peak competitor. 🤫
@@LonelyTreeSunset No it will be a 150bhp lighter version of the existing model, I’ve had three and the Pikes Peak is a completely different bike for a different road based sporty style of riding. Basically a rich man’s comfortable Panigale, the GS needs to stick to its existing style but get a decent gearbox and get rid of the weight, my 950 V2S is 25kg lighter wet with a better gearbox and has better handling, it’s a faster bike down any twisty road with a better rider than me. The obsession with power for the road is ridiculous, 100 to 125bhp is more than enough for the road.
Dynamic pro appears after the first 600 mile service.
you have to install dynamic pro key/fuse to activate.🙂
@@foolishcoyote. All done at first service on TE models in the UK
@@davidporter9131 my s1000xr first 600 mile service cost over $400. the next big one is at 18,000 miles......when they will be checking those valves out. that will cost nearly $1,700 u.s....but get this....that same service on a ducati is nearly $3,000 u.s. Facts ✅️
Lots of spankage Jack next stop an only fan page haha. Please please do a v4 multistrada review, the missus is asking if you will spank an AJS desert scrambler 😂😂😂
I’ll spank anything mate! 😂😂😂 Still awaiting a response from Ducati regarding a Ducati Scrambler ride. Going to give them another nudge on Monday 👍👍👍
I didn’t test it since I really love 2 cylinders more than 4. Your feedback seems to confirm I did the good choice going for the RS ✌️
Definitely 👍
The man is a boring GS rider, just get back on yer crappy opposing twin
I have a 2020 version with factory lowered which chassis. Excellent ride, town and motorway.
Bet that makes handling it easier David? 👍
@@motomogul very much so. Same price as full hieght as done 'in factory' on a seperate line.
@@davidporter9131 Same as my GS 👍
me too.... low suspension on the s1000xr makes her race ready & stunning to gaze upon 🙂
Had a GS and traded it for the Gen 2 XR. Having both was not an option but the XR better suits my riding preference. A quick fix for better low-end sound is to get a Heal Tech Servo Buddy for the exhaust ($60 US). ENJOY!
Inline fours are great. The XR is probably the best of them. Mine is the 22 model with M chain and fog lights. First thing i did was to customise the seat to make it more comfortable and so that I could sit a little further back.
Nice Review Jack!, Loving the sound of that machine!, I don’t think you will beat the Gs !, But I am probably Biased!!😂😂🏴
I’m with you on that one Kev 👍
Totally agree mate. I’m a current Australian owner of the Gen 2 XR. However I have remapped the ECU & removed cat. The bike is now officially a beast. Good review mate.
That definitely sounds like the way forward with it. I could tell it had potential but it did feel a bit flat when I tried this one. Cheers Chris 👍🏍️
Not for me Jack , nice but I’m totally with you I like my engine to have low RPM if I’m just plodding about , I would like you to try a Multistrada V4 and KTM 1290 , and compare them with the X-ray 1000 your on today , wow that’s a big ask eh
That’s the second request for a Multistrada V4 ride. I’ll see what I can do 👍👍👍
@@motomogul Get yourself on the V2S too…
@@IanTed Will do buddy 👍
