I’m feel like the boy in the back of the classroom praying the teacher doesn’t choose him but unlike that little boy I’m actually learning something, something that I want to understand better. You have a wonderful manor of teaching. Easy to follow plus it’s obvious you want everyone to succeed. I can’t wait to watch Vol. 2. Thank you so much for taking the time to put this together. Wes
I fly fish for everything, small creek browns, brooks and rainbows, great lakes salmon and steelhead, bass, pike, and even walleye. Recently i was gifted a 16 foot, bamboo spey rod, and i was considering using it fo chinook and cohos. My main concern is that i generally use a 10 wt minimum as 25+ lb chinook are not uncommon. Should i put some 7-8 weogh line on the rod or kust make it a centerpin for using roe?
Having seen fishing instructional videos like this before, imagine my shock when he took the rod apart to demonstrate the forward cast and a fish didn’t pick that moment to take his fly 😂

We believe a 16ft bamboo rod is more like an 11wt, or maybe a 10wt. If so, a 7/8 line would be too light.
Thank you for this video from Germany! Great job! 🎣🎣
@@MikesBigTrouts - thanks for commenting, we're delighted you enjoyed the video and hopefully picked up a good tip or two
Finally!!! 🎉
I have question … If we can skate flies for steelhead in our 13ft 7wt, could we skandi skate small chubbies on trout spey? 😊
Yes, very much so, and skated stoneflies as well...
S.G. Is the BEST!
