  • Jez Webb, Martin Gore's guitar tech was on hand to show us Martin L. Gore's Guitars and explain how he interacts with Martin on stage and how long he has toured with the group.
    I wasn't full sure what the VIP Package was going to include, but it was an unexpected surprise to have a member of the tour show us the guitar collection and a little of some of the things nehind the scenes.
    We all got to go onstage before the show too, so as a fan of the group since 1983, I think this was value for money. We also got to see a collection of Depeche Mode memorabilia. given a limited edition gift pack, drinks and food in an exclusive VIP lounge before the show and a good seat to see the guys onstage.
    A truly great event and DM as good as they always have been!

    So I think 3 tours back a good friend of mine bumped into Jez on a random gig ,Jez asking him what his favourite bands where , so of course my mate mentioned Mode , all I can say is Jez did him and his wife a wonderful favour 6 months later , Jez is a top bloke , kind and considerate and a true Gentleman. It was nice to see Jez at work handing the strings over to Martin at Manchester, spectacular!

      I am glad I made the decision to record this, it seems from the amount of nice comments this was greatly appreciated. My son assumed I was standing behind the screen recording and not experiencing the reality, but I had the mobile down beside me and was paying attention. However like all things, moments can become memories and you can forget things you were told. Comments like yours are positive and constructive, so thank you for taking the time to respond.

    Thanks for posting. I've honestly never thought of doing a VIP but this is something pretty unique, a proper incite. Nice guy too, knows his stuff and I'm sure could have been super techy but pitched it right, just show the punters Martin's most iconic guitars. Job done 👏

      First time I saw them was at Wembley Arena 1985. I liked Everything Counts when it was released and bought Construction Time Again immediately. When Some Great Reward was released I bought it straight away and then every album release from then on was bought on all 3 formats on day of release. I consider that I have been on a great journey. I saw Dave Gahan and the Soulsavers at the London Coliseum in December 2021 and shook Peter Gordeno's hand and had a brief chat and laugh. That'll probably be the closest to meeting them, my Cousin had the opportunity of meeting Andrew Fletcher and Martin Gore and got me a personalised signed photo, this was also cool.

    Back in the day I used to go to a lot of concerts in St Austell in Cornwall. The venue was an amazing place right on the beach and was called The Cornwall Coliseum. If you hung around after a show chances were the band would come out front for a chat and to do some signing. I met Tears For Fears, Simple Minds, Mari Wilson 😂 and Depeche Mode. This was on the Broken Frame tour and they signed my copy of the album and my 12” of Leave In Silence, which I still have. I can’t remember too much about it - it was only for 30 minutes or so but I do remember Dave being really charming, Martin being quite shy and Alan being quite aloof. But still, they were much nicer than Curt & Roland who quite frankly seemed to think they were rock gods.
    Oh and Gary Numan too. What a lovely man. Probably the nicest pop person I’ve met.
    Anyway, I kinda miss old DM. That ABF tour was such fun. No projections. No fancy lights. No drummer. Just 4 synths, a reel to reel tape machine, and Dave 😍. Happy times. Ive seen them 23 times but that was probably my favourite show.

      I know a few people who saw them in Exeter when they were just in a field playing to less than a 100 people. But I have heard mostly good feedback about them. I have met Gary Numan twice and he is certainly a very nice person. Thank you for sharing this.

      @@1i2cVision I had a friend who saw them in Exeter too. Wonder if it was the same show ?
      Yes, Gary Numan was a gentleman. He chatted to us for ages and showed us around the stage and signed CDs and posters. An absolute legend. I’m not a huge fan of his music, although I love the old Tubeway Army stuff but he made such a good impression on us. Im so pleased he’s still able to make a living from music.
      Your DM experience must have been exciting too. Its good they’ve not become too big headed and are happy for fans to have that inside view.
      Anyway,take care. Im off to play Memento Mori 💪🏼👍🏻

    A dream to talk with this guy… Since I am very invested in Martin L Gore's guitar sound and history, this is such an opportunity to get an insight about what's going on during the live setting. What type of VIP is that actually? Is this a VIP ticket that can be bought during the sale of tickets or different - more rare VIP to get to meet J. Webb?

    • @1i2cVision
      @1i2cVision  4 місяці тому +5

      I think the opportunity to meet Jez and have this moment before the show appears to be a bonus and was not in the desciption of the VIP package. It mentioned going on stage before the show and a few usual VIP things, such as a lounge and food and drink, which also contained a lot of DM memorabilia and a unique gift pack. The ticket itself was available to purchase on Ticketmaster the moment tickets were opened, but no idea how many tickets were available at this point. I decided after 40 years I would treat myself and went ahead and purchased without much thought. To clarify, I did ask how many tickets were available for this and it was 24. I hope this information helps? Thank you for watching and responding. It was kind of wild and going up on stage was a bit surreal, but we were not allowed to film this or take photos, but the guide did take group shots of us and we'll get these photos shortly.

    • @1i2cVision
      @1i2cVision  2 місяці тому +1

      This was the Ultimate VIP package and it cost a staggering £531.75. I paid this as I considered I had been following the group for 38 years and the possibility this could be the last tour. They’ve been a part of my life since a rebellious teenager and made songs that were pushing boundaries (New Dress ~ Blasphemous Rumours for instance). Seeing them emerge into pure professional’s (Never Let Me Down Again) and continuing to carry on regardless. An 80’s group that never had to finish or reunite. A band that was slated (especially in the UK for nearly 20 years) and then turning the tables. The cost, in my opinion, was worth it. It included a very good seat, getting to see a lot of historic memorabilia, a special edition goodie bag and getting on stage before the show, plus food and drinks in a guest lounge. Long answer, but hopefully covers everything!

      It was advertised early release on ticketmaster. There was a high cost, but after 40 years of following DM, thought I would treat myself. There were only 24 tickets. We also got to go up on stage before the show too, but we were not allowed to film or use our phones. We did have photos taken by the promoter. I have to give them credit [Live Nation] because they really did a great job. We received some exclusive items too and was able to see old memorabilia and food and drink in a VIP lounge before the show, with a great seat within the venue included. I think it was worth it, you can only regret not doing something I believe. Thank you for your comments.
