The hextech stuff is really impressive, its also VERY solid, its a big chonk of resin, well worth getting! Great vid as always!
I really think I could hurt someone with these if I really wanted to! But yeah, it's a nice design and should look great on the table.
BTW, Thunderhead doesn't sell the STL's GF9 has licensed... Part of the agreement they made.
Damn, there goes getting the STL from Thunderhead! I picked up a lot of those STL files, if you ever want to get into 3D printing, they are the best models to start with and tune a filament printer with. Of course, then you have paint them... But be it resin or 3D print, they mix well the best of maps and miniatures (I have a nice hex mat for my table to go with those).
So it looks like a lot of the wave 1 buildings are still available in the free sample set, so that's good. But you're right, I've already printed off some of the hills, and mixing in some of the other terrain will make a great table. My son build me a 3x6 table and I'm going to have a friend with a vinyl printer make me some generic maps (grass, snow, desert, etc) so we can mix and match the terrain how we want for custom scenarios.

All good! The main thing is that their site and MyMiniFactory don't have all the same stuff. So took me a little digging just to make sure.
I like GF9 stuff,
But I dont have any, because it's usually expensive here... but that HexTech stuff did look nice!
The GF9 stuff is good quality, even with the flaws I tried to point out. But you can always get the STL files and print the buildings on your own. Honestly, I got one of each box, but I'll just print what I want for the rest as I have the option. If you have access to a printer (yours or a friend) it might be a better option trying to go that route instead.
Having experience with hextech the only issue i have had is the mountain terrain pieces being prone to crack on the edges sometimes due to shipping. So make sure to inspect well.
Thanks for the tip! I wasn’t planning on the hills as I already 3D printed a bunch and they weren’t on the clearance table I found these on, but I’ll still make sure to inspect the other kits as I go through them.

I'm not sure its worth the retail price. I might print my own or just craft stuff as I tend to be cheap.

As for making your own, you can get the STL and 3D print your own.
