I would have thought that Toney could pick up the slack from Rice being out but I appreciate Seth's conments about him not maturing. It's unfortunate but such is life. Hopefully, that is not the long term case with Rice. I trust that Andy will make the correct assessment on his playbook focus to put each player in the best role. 😊
Bottom line, we can only carry 6 WRs. Trying to 3-Peat, can’t stash a young or underachieving guy when we could use that other spot for another D men, linemen, etc. Can’t be afraid to cut Toney, Skyy, Mecole, J. Ross, or Nico. Brown, Worthy, and Watson are locks to make roster. Rice will probably be suspended for a time. Find 6 that work while Rice out. Possible 1 or so guys could be on PS, but no worries if they get snatched up. So pumped for this season!
You have to understand that the game isn't just played 17 times per year. What about leadership, scouting, adjustments on the fly, setting the defense, work ethic, etc. I think it's best to look at all those things instead of just one stat. I'm not sure if Bolton is worth it but I'd like a fair argument on the topic
Remigio was blowing up in preseason games last year, so not only were the pads on, it was in-game. That’s why people were excited about him last season, it wasn’t just a couple acrobatic training camp catches.
Nick Bolton has been the best Linebacker in the Mahomes era. We suffered thru 4 brutal seasons of Anthony Hitchens as middle linebacker. Bolton has been super solid every single year. He makes correct reads, he’s super intelligent, great Insticts, he tackles everything, he has a nose for the ball and he plays an important role as a leader on Spags’ defense. With that being said he does have his limitations and weaknesses. He’s a true mike linebacker. Drue Tranquill, who plays outside backer, probably market corrected Nick Bolton. For context, last year was a contract year for Tranquill after the Chiefs signed him to a remarkably cheap contract for a player of his ilk. I hear Seth’s reasoning. But to sum it up, Tranquill is closer to Bolton than we think. But Bolton will get paid 2-3 times as much as Tranquill. $14M a year would be perfect. Keep Bolton !
I also think Tranquill could have gotten more money elsewhere but he wanted to stay on the chiefs and keep winning. After being on the chargers for years who can blame him. We’ll have to wait and see what Bolton values more, money or rings

If Bolton has a decent year this season, I think he'll be gone in 2025. Linebackers probably need to get their bag asap more than other positions on defense. They are almost like the running backs of the defense in today's NFL.
Been watching some playoff highlights of other teams, and some of their tackling is horrendous. Bolton is a tackling machine, I wouldn't mind if the Chiefs slightly overpaid him.

That would be the same as saying Joe Burrow is terrible based on when they were injured. You need a larger sample size. Bolton could have decent value in FA to a team that's talented, but hasn't gelled or wants to gel ASAP. OTOH, he may be worth more to KC than other teams, because of the way the Chiefs are built and the way Spagnuolo schemes it up. His position is more about leadership and decision-making. Willie Gay was a lot quicker and faster, but Willie might take a whole extra half second or second to realize where he should be running, and he may've been going the wrong way during that beat of time. Willie might be able to run with a TE better than Nick, but Nick got the green dot as a rookie. Drue Tranquill instantly earned the "backup green dot." Willie Gay almost never took on that role, and he struggled when he tried. Anyway, much may depend on what KC thinks it can do in the '25 draft. Dorsey had bad luck with LBs. Veach has enjoyed more success. He's also used higher draft picks on LB than Dorsey did, before him.

Just a thought, I think Bolton replacement is on the roster already. It is obvious Beach is about Drafting replacements or finding UDFA’s that can be replacements for current talent. All we have to do is shoot worthy deep and let Trav and Hollywood work the middle until Rice gets back week 7 or 8 the chiefs have been getting the best of the NFL with great players coming in a little late in the season and adding wrinkles that crush the competition

Skyy is an absolute bust at WR and special teams. He is gonna have to find something else in life to do because football ain't it.
Bolton is a good linebacker who I would love to see back if the price isn't too much, but I wouldn't be excited if he is another overpay.
