Yep, leave it to us Dutchies to turn a pragmatic profit wherever we can.
I mean it’s just as affective as other medicinal drugs
Fun fact: Coca-Cola is the only company in America that can legally import the Coca leaf into the US. Coca-Cola also owns the only pharmaceutical company that can refine their imported leaf into pharmaceutical cocaine. Pharmaceutical cocaine used to be used in eye surgeries but is now primary used for sinus surgeries.
@@johnirby8847 not in the west though. Lidocaïne is used for local anestesia. Lidocaine is family of cocaine and is also a anestetic like cocaine, it just misses the getting high part.

Cocaine hydrochloride (Goprelto), an ester local anesthetic, was approved for medical use in the United States in December 2017, and is indicated for the introduction of local anesthesia of the mucous membranes for diagnostic procedures and surgeries on or through the nasal cavities of adults. Cocaine hydrochloride (Numbrino) was approved for medical use in the United States in January 2020. Since 1961, the international Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs has required countries to make recreational use of cocaine a crime. Caffeine from both coffee and tea act differently. So imagine what caffeine from the soda (coal) acts in your body.
Caffeine absorption is influenced by the presence of sugar (intensified). Higher sugar + higher caffeine = more intense stimulation. Best example is preworkout supps.
Ehh, the caffeine component functions largely the same, more they contain different constituents and in varied proportions
Both sources of caffeine still act via the same primary target. Sntagonism of adenosine receptors; which leads to post-synaptic dopaminergic activity (as adenosine agonism provides negative feedback inhibiting dopamine release)
The difference isn't due to the caffeine but the presence of other xanthine analogues, most notably Theophylline (theobroma i.e. key constituent of chocolate is also present but it's not thought to elicit much if any effect)
Theophylline still hits that same adenosine antagonism, but it also acts as a non-competitive (in that it won't displace the substrate) phosphodiesterase inhibitor; which largely impacts intracellular second messenger signalling pathways
Edit: also has affinity for serveal monoamine receptors as AlechBoypointed out
Things get kinda wweeeeird from there; but tl;dr it's largely the same but some analogues are present in tea and not coffee as well as the components are likely in different ratios
👀🍵
Real tea from China is the way to go

Jake actually undersells this. During the 1936 Berlin Olympics, Coca Cola infamously had an ad there saying something along the lines of "One People. One Fatherland. One Drink. Coca-Cola"
@@jellyfishi_ IF you look at the non-genocidal goals of the Nazis, Germany did win. The European Union was exactly what Hitler envisioned: one European currency with the individual nation-states more or less beholden to a highly industrialized and supreme German nation. Exactly what is there today. Many WWII vets (especially in Britain) have stated their disgust that, in the end, Germany got most of what they wanted.
@@jellyfishi_ The Nazi Party was also more Bavarian and Southern Germany in character than they were Anglo-Saxon, which is the far north of Germany. A minor difference, but it would be a akin to saying that New-England culture is the same as southern culture in the US.

The worst thing is that I'm straight up addicted to sodas like Coca Cola and Sprite. Sometimes I have to take a long break from drinking them and when I get back to them they taste weird but honestly I just keep drinking it because I remember loving it. I'm straight up addicted but can't get away.
But one addiction I got away from is Nutella. I ate a heck ton of it when I was younger but after getting more appetite for things that weren't sweet I actually didn't touch it for a whole year. Great idea!!
Alright, lets add Coca-Cola to the “List of Enemies” jake made.
In my hometown, there was a coke manufacturing plant (it's been since torn down) and my great grandparents would tell me how they would go there after church on Sundays; everyone would get their first one for free and it would essentially be like a hub of a hangout spot to get a coke and maybe some food. Unsurprisingly, this "hub" is now the town square and we have all sorts of restaurants there, buildings for college classes, corporate offices and an amphitheater.
I respect you so much I am relieved that you know that coca and cocoa are two different things. IT is amazing how many people pronounce coca "cocoa" They are obviously completely different., And if chocolate was made with coca, I would be totally screwed as I currently love chocolate and had a love affair with coca(ine) in my younger days

Once again a brilliant , well researched short documentary !
I'm glad you're at lest referencing the story you're recycling. Nothing wrong to spread the story as long as you reference properly.
If you're talking about the guy on JRE id guess he was just using that as one of his sources and put it in the video because it enhanced the video, he puts other people talking about his topic in his videos all the time and they are usually just one source he used or just there to back up what he's saying. Unless its one of his videos where he actually interviews a book writer then it does seem like they were his main source for the video.

That means that during World War II, one solider fighting for the United States received an average of 31.25 Coca Cola bottles.
