I went up there one practice night as a lone visitor. They offered me a rope. I was too nervous to try it. Despite being a ringer for the previous 12 years. Never tried a cathedral ring before. It was amazing to watch the experts though. I was there the day before this was filmed.
When it comes to bells and I admit I love Whitechapel bells Taylors make the best heavy bells, I think Yorkminster are the finest sounding peal anywherein the world. Just listening to them send me into a heavenly daydream. I would love to ring a peal of Stedman Cinques on them
I was in Honfleur France once while a funeral was being held at the cathedral and it was the first and only time I’ve heard a death knell. It was so absolutely beautiful it made me cry in the middle of the street. It started with a swift tempo and eventually started to slow and then go slower and then even slower until it stopped. It was like a long well lived life that ended with the last beat of a heart. I’ve been trying to find an example of this on UA-cam to share with others. Does anyone have any links?
listening to this gives me the chills. :) Reminded of that lovely sunny and cool Sat. afternoon when I was wandering round the abbey ruins down the way.
Ashley Monck am not a ringer but i am an outsider who enjoys the sound of bells basicly when i hear the sound of bells i take intrest in it but unlike my family they dont & im the only 1 in my family who takes time to enjoy the sound
I'm supposed to be grabbing here but the 4th's gudgeon is broken. We're only going if they fix it in time cause some of us find the back 8 too heavy :(. Hope we get a ring on these. Possibly a once in a lifetime experience.

At 5.40 the normal Bell Ringing begins, Soest Cathedral St. Patrokli, It is considered the epitome of Romanesque in Westphalia. In the west tower hang 11 bells, one of them from the 12th century, 3 from the 13th century. 5 are recent
It's because he is counting his places to ensure his striking is accurate. Rarely happens these days. He was taught to do that so his spacing is correct

Yeah that's what I'm doing here
Is Mr Potter a bit annoyed at the end?
These are absolutely beautiful. Does the minster invite other bands to ring there?
And now the ringers have been sacked...
Read the new and you'll find out....
eine Jahrhunderte alte Tradition, in den USA gibt es bis auf wenige Kirchen nur einen mageren Abklatsch
“The Nine Tailors” brought me here
I Lake Big Ben

59cwt-1qr-23lbs in Bb
Why is the man in the glasses shaking his head?
I think it tends to happen a lot when pulling heavy bells
