Speaking with a few people on Discord (and hearing from Mash since recording this) the majority of mod maps (such as DH's) are made with correct lighting, but the lighting used on the main map is currently disabled for mod maps (something to do with helping with indoor map lighting?). Mash says he can make it a built-in option to re-enable that lighting though, so hopefully that gets implemented soon. If anything happens I'll probably bring it up in a future video!
Mash turned the normal maps lighting off because usually when you create a map in unity you would add all that yourself so you give your map it's own feel but most people either don't bother or they don't do it properly. This is super nice for maps like that. The only trouble is you get reflections from the sun indoors which can look kinda weird.

Nice dude. I took my mods off because with them my the pause menu is unresponsive for about a minute 😂 but I’m probably putting them back on for this. I’m definitely not that great at this game but man is it fun. It’s taken my attention away from Session for a while 😂😂😂
Heck yeah maps look so much crisp now! Really hope someone makes a new garage mod for streets. The bmx customisation is kinda meh. No old school Bmx parts other than the tuff rims. Also hate how you can’t change change the colour of default parts. I’m prayyying someone makes it for streets
if only the DAMN game would work for me with mods..... if i have mods and melonloader installed in the original game or in the beta it doesnt even open! it only works in experimental for me and idk why
In other words, even the lighting profile for modded maps is so janky we need a mod to "solve" it. It's not the maps or the creators, it's how the game is set up. That's why skilled Unity map makers are still having issues figuring lighting. When you need a whole nother mod just to make your modded maps lighting not appear like poop, that's a bandaid, not a solution. Not to mention EVERY update, you'll need to reinstall Melon. Cool it exists, but these are haphazard remedies, not really too useful for everyone. Still feel the game needs a lot of work and isn't worth the $60 I dropped on it.

Do you expect one guy to just drop a completely perfect AAA quality game with full mod support??? Say what you want, streets is still the best bmx game out right and it does not have any competition.
You can find reshade tutorials fairly easily actually, the process is the same for any game! You just download it, open, link to Streets and you should be good!

I doubt it will but this would be cool if this mod comes to console whenever the game comes to console and hopefully that is kinda soon
Mash should hopefully fix whatever the issue is on his end so extra mods won't be needed!
which filter do you use, and at what strength? or is it reshade? because even the original map doesn't look grey and orange on your videos?
Here I used the RealisticHighContrast filter at 40%, plus the HDR (FakeHDR) preset from Reshade

I think some mods have a weird mouse lock on them, most of the updated new ones seem to have fixed that though so might be worth updating!
