You don't necessarily need to identify as a 'gospel minister' to live for God. Just as one can be a lawyer, business man, politician and still be a Christian, one can also be a musician and be a Christian and not necessarily sing strictly Gospel. As long as he is convinced in his heart that this is what God has called him to then he is living for God. The most important thing is he is standing for Christ and his relationship with God. Everybody knows where he stance. I'm certain he is ministering life and hope through his songs
Let us stop deceiving ourselves, he is a backslided Christian. Even if he doesn't sing "Afro pop" he features and get featured by those who are worldly. All this mixture of carnality and the spirit is why God spits people out of His mouth
I am blessed to have been in the same choir with Johny during his service year at Enugu. He is indeed a talented singer, more grace to you bro.

Music is worship, that's why we use Gospel music to worship God but with that secular music, ask yourself who are they really worshipping because that ain't the Almighty?
