The song is about sleep paralysis. So the whole point of the glass sounds and weird screeches is to keep you in constant discomfort. Which the song does very well, tbh.

Billie was interviewed and she explained that she made all the songs on her album to please 12 different people in a room. The point is most will only like one song, but at least everyone will like SOMETHING on the album. BTW, this song is inspired by Sleep Paralysis where one is in the Alpha stage of sleep (semi awake) but their body still isn't responding and things get a bit out of control including hallucinations of being held down, experimented on, etc... I'm glad my musical tastes are eclectic because I like quite a few songs on her album. Don't forget, there are two people actually working on these songs, Billie and her older bro Gideon. Both are eccentric in their own way, hence why the music is so unpredictable.
You should definitely check out ‘you should see me in a crown’ and ‘when the party’s over’ by Billie Eilish.

This is the first video I have ever seen if these dudes... I love Billie Eilish and her eclectic sound and the characters her and her brother create to tell these stories in their songs and can I just say that I love how the dude on the left was like so excited and fangirling so hard in the middle of the video. Bury A Friend is the first music video i saw of Billie Eilish and i hadn't even heard of her before.
Now i've watched most of her music videos, she's brilliant.
I just found out about Billie a few days ago. She's crazy talented for her age.. and huge props to her brother too! 👍
Only the other day i had a random video pop up that was Billie Eilish listening to Internet covers of her own songs and reacting to them. It was an eye opener as I'd never heard of her before, she's a very interesting cat and no mistake. Obviously she has a dark streak and my god that girl has a pottymouth 😂, but she was really nice and her lyrics are so intelligent and interesting. I'll have to check out more. Thanks for this video, again showing me more of this artist. 👍

Open Heart Zoo is one of the best pieces of music I've heard. I used it in my GCSE drama performance because it suited our practitioner Antonin Artaud so well. He's vocals are very similar to Thom Yorks, and the backwards violins add a massive amount of creepiness to it. I know this is about Billie... but I love Open Heart Zoo so so SO much!

Now I’m going to treat all you Billie Eilish fans around the world to a vocalist who passed away recently but in my generation ( 1960s ... I’m 74 years old) had a small but worldwide cult following and I consider her the “ Billie Eilish of the 1960s.” Her name
Morgana King with a celestial heavenly ethereal voice, unique and mesmerizing. Just like Billie. When a song by her came over the radio, ( today Spotify , UA-cam , etc) within the first 30 seconds ( Like Billie Eilish today) you KNEW it was Morgana King and you stopped whatever you were doing to listen. Frank Sinatra called her the best female vocalist he ever heard.
If I may so bold as to suggest you listen ( when you have a few moments) to the following 4 songs that will silence your mind and open the floodgate of your heart. 2 were created and posted by a “ Morgana fan” with remarkable imagery which enhanced the emotional impact!!

The song is about sleep paralysis as well as billie talking from the point of view of her demons or the monster under her bed which is in fact her cause she is her biggest critic. Also when we all fall asleep where do we go is her album name coming out in march.

I like how you assume she's trying to be experimental, but actually if you get to know her music and her, you'll find out a lot of her songs are allusions to other pieces of art/film. She's a huge horror fan, and likes to write her more personal music after shows and movies which intrigue her.
In that sense, she's much more 'real' than your typical American musician.
She has said that she doesn't want to make just one type of music or be labeled one genre. About this song, she had said it was about her sleep paralysis and what she sees. About accepting it as a part of her but also wanting it to end.(As someone who suffers, I can actually relate to a lot of the imagery, lyrics). There are some pretty common hallucinations you get, while others would be more specific to your subconscious. The 'I want to end me',means the nightmare/monster/paralysis. My take is If you pay attention to the eyes it seems like a conversation between herself and the nightmare. When her eyes are normal, she both describes the nightmares/ hallucinations and sleep paralysis while also answering the monsters questions " why don't you run from me?" Answer , 'what did you expect, for me to make you my art? ...". And "What so you want from me?", Billie: " say it, spit it out", what is it exactly?" (Cause dreams/terrors be so cryptic). That's also why she sings about her limbs being frozen. Or I could be totally wrong and the eyes are a coincidence. Lol. Any song you listen to will be a different vibe.
Her live shows are really a ton of fun... she’s very interactive and quirky

And i dont know what was expecting, lol... but i told someone to check this song out, i thought they would like it..and ten minutes later they called me going on and on about how awesome the video was ( i love horror and just wierd) and was so pleasantly surprised.
