    Comment from husband.
If you notice on your video before you pick up the cranker whitetail shed. You saw that it was brown along the outside of the main beam. It also had some mud and old grass stuck to the outside of the main beam. That mud and grass is a pretty define sign that the shed spent most of the year flipped the other way around from the way you found it. It would be interesting to know what caused it to recently flip over. Possibly an animal carried it from somewhere else and dropped it where you found it. Really nice antler shed that you found.

Thanks. I agree an animal likely moved that first shed. Finding the match the next day was electric! Fair ways away too. So good! That’s why we love shed hunting, you never know what is going to happen😉🤘🏻

Love the area! We have a Rec property in Jaf. Hopefully moving to Cran with in a year or 3. My young Pudelpointer is in shed training now. Good luck out there.

I am actually in BC. Southeastern Rocky Mountains, but I know Northern Ontario pretty well. My brother lives in Thunder Bat area and found over 80 moose sheds last year👍🏼

I would guess that that shed wasn't there when you looked last year. The inside is bleached and green, which would lead me to believe that it was lying "tines-up" for a year. The frozen grass on the outside of the main beam also seems to indicate that that's the side that was on the ground. Are there a lot of coyotes in the area? My suspicion is that it was picked up and carried around by a coyote and dropped there relatively recently. Just my guess though. Who knows!

Wow. I never thought of that. I think of sheds being shuffled around and turned over, but never physically moved... Great insight! And yes there are a lot of coyotes in the area....

he probably dropped it shortly after you went through there last year

Possible for sure, but I found the 5 point fresh pretty late in season, like April. Almost all white tails drop here by then….
