Even though you didn’t discover many treasures this was a MOST enjoyable video. I loved the ambient nature sounds and crunching footsteps, water and your narration. Perfect! Thank you!
Tom, what you bring to us viewers who are far less able to walk anymore, is beyond description. Please carry on bringing the precious (and beautiful) English countryside into our homes and I for one will be forever grateful. (I particularly love the sounds of water and your commentary interspersed with your soothing music). Thanks so much. Keep well 🌳💦☘️💧🍀🌳🌾🍀💧🌿🍰💦💧💐
When someone like myself has lost the ability to hop up the rocks in a creek, or just walk a trail, your videos are second only this real thing! The sound of this is pure music! Your home, is incredibly beautiful!
My husband and I were lucky enough to visit the Yorkshire Dales and Lakes District many times over the years as a dear friend had a home in Kirkby Lonsdale. We would ramble every day, in all weather. I absolutely love this area of the world. Thank you for taking me back! Someday, when this pandemic has played out, perhaps we will return. ❤️🙏
England has more beautiful pathways and walkways than anywhere else in the world I swear. I love the history, geography, the stone walls, everything. Thanks for letting us tag along.
A wonderful amble through the English countryside! I am continually in awe of all the stone work - seemingly endless miles of amazing stone walls & toe-stubbing cobblestones. If not for these, your woods could very easily be my western Washington State woods....until a house or town comes into view and I'm very certain I'm no longer in Washington! Thank you for a lovely scenic hike and bits of history!
So much of this reminds me of places in the Boston areas in the USA my Dad used to take me as a small child 70+ years ago..like Milton, Marshfield, Plymouth, and the like!
This was just the most amazing walk. I am physically unable to traverse the trails of my youth. I used to be an avid hiker until arthritis took my knees. I so miss getting off the beaten path to make my own way. Thanks so much for taking us along a lovely Sunday hike, beautifully narrated by nature and your soothing voice.
Tom, that was lovely. Since I no longer have the strength nor agility to ramble along pathways and traverse the streams and rivers, I so appreciate your doing it and allowing me to go with. Tha.
When I was around 8 or 9 we lived in Berkshire for a year while my father went to RCAF staff college. (1963) I loved being in England more than any other place we lived. The dales are truly a wonderful place to walk, the dry stone walls are so beyond amazing. You are very lucky to live there and there is nothing more pleasing to me than to walk the many paths you take us on. Thank you so very much Tom.
One of my favorites. Having grown up in the United Methodist Church, it was wonderful to see the old church where John Wesley preached. Just charming. And I love the rock-hopping. Different adventures, and all welcome!! The 'oldness' of everything is so comforting...
Thank you again for the awesome walk along the pathways and the stream, all the birds singing and water flowing mmmmmmm awesomeness 👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️
Northern mudlarks, I watched your latest video. I adore you! I just pulled out a few jars of sea glass I've had for awhile and am trying your candle holder! Thanks!
It's cool tot see my favorite mudlarkers together. Tom, the northern mudlarkers and kit and caboodlers. You are so good in making these video's. I enjoy them so much. Thank you 🌈❤️😽🌈
I do so love watching your videos Tom, I was lucky enough to live in Bracknell when I was a young girl of 8 and 9. Did so love it there, the old lanes and the wonderful old homes and truly great people. Thanks so much for allowing me to walk with you in my memories.
I feel compelled to tell you that your videos bring me so much joy! I have always been a creek walker, ever since my grandparents moved to a house that had a sweet little creek running in front of it! That was MY creek! I knew every stone and could almost do it with my eyes closed! I also dream of visiting England someday , but right now I am unable to barely walk as both of my knees are needing replacing. So it is extremely painful to walk. But your videos have brought me there! And just the last 5 or minutes of this video where you just walked was dreamy and mesmerizing! I enjoy all the narration, very much but that bit of just the sound of your steps and the birds while you finished your recording was just like heaven to me! Thank you and please, more of this type of thing! Sharing on Facebook now!
You have the perfect commentator voice, you could be the next David Attenborough...I too feel like my young self watching the leaps over stones. I no longer can hike like this, it makes my day...thank you so much for this.
The sounds of nature are wonderful, from the crunchng under your feet, to the water finding its way through the rocks. Beautiful music...EXCELLENT filming and commentary! Thanks for sharing another lovely day!
Tom this is one of the most enjoyable videos I have ever watched. You take me back to my youth when I lived in the country. how much I miss it now. I was luck enough to live in the Berkshire downs as a young girl. So truly beautiful country. thank you so much for sharing this adventure with me.
Thank you for sharing your lovely ramble. I enjoy the snippets of the long history of your home. I hope you, your loved ones, and the other subscribers are all well.
Thank you for making my favorite video so far! What a sweet, lovely tramp through the most beautiful lands. Dear Tom, please don't ever stop making these types of videos; they are a balm to my soul, a soul rather ratty and tatty just now...but all of the good and loving parts are there! Again, thanks for a lovely walk and talk, Tom. Lisa, Village of Livonia, Western NY USA
The video with just the sounds of bird songs, chickens and wind along with your footsteps is so wonderfully peaceful. Thank you for that blessing.🇺🇸oh rock hop please. The scenery is welcomed.
Thank you for a wonderful walk.. a narrow way w/bright blue doors are a lovely visual. Sounds of life.. chickens.. gravel underfoot. Along the path, a river or brook. A relaxing trek on a glorious, sunny day!
I love your mudlarking videos, and now your walk through your village and the countryside! It is SO amazing to see the history in the walls and cobblestone walks in England. Here in Oregon, our history is long time Native American, and short time pioneers. Nothing to compare with yours! Keep the videos coming, they are my favorite.
I've watched this video several times. I love the secluded wooded river walk. Listening to your voice and stories was refreshing to my lock down in the States. Thank you so much for sharing. Stay healthy and keep sharing.
Personally I didn't find any of it "too samey"; every bend in the creek or path is a new scene and thus a new experience. Most people think rocks are boring, but I love geology and can spend hours looking at them, marveling at their structure and pondering their creation. Toward the end of the video the low sunlight, distant birdsong and the crunch of your shoes on the path was quite hypnotic and enjoyable. Thanks, and stay safe.
Tom I loved this walk in the woods and along the streams. So amazing how a walk along with you narrating with that lovely voice of yours melts away all the stress of the day. Thank you so much for making these videos. Please don’t ever stop making them.
It was wonderful. I found myself gauging the space between he stepping stone as if I was assessing if my legs were long enough to take the step. The sound of the water was so very soothing. The video is gorgeous, wonderful, relaxing. Thank you so much for taking us along. Donna
so good to be out climbing rocks & creeks without getting wet , and all that blue skies & green trees are good for the soul. Thank you for taking us with you , please continue. ☺
Thank you for a wonderful walk in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside Tom, the light and reflections of the water at 41,12 was just magical, this was a perfect antidote to the present situation we are all in.
So soothing and refreshing to go on walks with you. Reminds me of creeks and forests and meadow's I knew so well when younger and much more spry. Thank you Tom from Ojai, California.
People always are so thrilled when they come to a downhill path rather than one they have to climb...from my experience, I love climbing up a path like this...my lungs may get a workout...but my thigh muscles strain and, at times cramp, trying to keep myself upright as I descend...the downhill slope seems to transfer into a precariously wild speedway and I must be very cautious so as not to stub my toe on a bit of the uneven ground or catch the tip of my shoe in one of the many criss-crossing tree roots in the lane so as not to go .”... over teakettle” 😂. You travel such gloriously beautiful treks, Tom. I do appreciate them!
I loved this walk . It had good variety. I am very easy to please as far as walks go. Thank you very much for this. I know many say this, but it is true, I enjoy the sound if your voice as much as the content of what your are saying. Hearing your footfall, the water flowing and your observations are very enjoyable and soothing.
Thank you Tom for taking us along. Your voice lured me. I had to pause to close my eyes. I’ve been watching your Mudlarking videos and this walk around your ancient wooded area was a treat. 😍
Thanks Tom for taking us on such a glorious walk which included so many little interesting chats along the way. My rambling days started many years ago when we moved from inner city Melbourne to Licola, a tiny hamlet in the mountains of the Great Dividing Range in eastern Victoria. With my children left in my husband's care, I popped on my gum boots and wandered up to where little Target Creek joins the lovely Macalister River. Nothing but sheep for company in adjoining paddocks on one side and steep bushy hillsides on the other but lovely little surprises were popping up in the middle of the stream where I waded...including native watercress, maidenhair ferns, tiny crustaceans and interesting rock formations. Not a place to find evidence of human habitation as its always been an isolated area but a joy to wander on your own with the tumbling water a musical background. Cheers Roz.
Thank you for another beautiful video. I am in awe of the many stone paths and stone walls that are in the woods. I would be lost so easily but you always know where you are.
A very relaxing walk by the river and once again I am transported back to my time of living in Hebden Bridge and walking in those very woods. Thank you for sharing Tom.
So sorry I missed getting to live message you but my Mother with Dementia comes first. I LOVED the rock hopping, I blanked out my surroundings and tried to guess where I (you) put a foot next. I came in too late and chose to start at the beginning. Lovely walk and beautiful scenery, thanks Tom for another wonderful escape to the lovely English country side.
What a delightful walk.i am amazed at how many paths and stone walls there are. I am able to walk hardly at all anymore, and used to love the woods, so this was such fun. (Just before this I watched you and the Johnsons mudlarking together.)
Another lovely video Tom. Silent where there is much beauty and your soothing voice with interesting narrative and facts.I look forward to viewing each one.
Lovely video... Clear blue skys, the bubbling of a burn (stream)... the stonework, oddly, reminds me of my old home in Edinburgh (though without the chickens) and a few places around here. Such a relaxing presentation too! Your mention of the dump near the end sent shivers - I'd not considered the possibility of finding a large deposit of asbestos! Thanks for this, and more so for saying hello and letting us know you are around so we get to see this!
I was riveted by this one. I very much enjoy the long form; the spaces between narration aren't boring in the least. And I couldn't agree with you more: "Gah. People."
Thank you so very much for such a beautifully picturesque video. It brought to mind my many childhood memories of similar adventures in simular wooded wonderlands of west coast of Scotland. Thoroughly enjoy all your videos. Well done.
Lovely walk Tom. Thanks for taking me along with you. Keep posting its a nice distraction from the daily madness of what's happening in the rest of this bonkers world. All the best. Kate x
So many sweet spots I would bring my small gas burner and make a cup of tea and sit and sketch or do some watercolors. Thank you for this wonderful walk .
The soothing sights and sounds in this video improved my day a hundred-fold. Relaxed and re-nourished now! Thank you, Tom for such a pleasant ramble and for the historical snippets, too. Stay safe and healthy.
I was lucky enough to be the archaeological officer of an 18th century cotton mill in the north west, absolutely love exploring mill ruins and industrial heritage
That was a glorious walk. Wow such beautiful scenery and the rocky stream tranquilizing. I'd be stopping all the time to take pictures. Ooh and a picnic on one of the big rocks. I actually liked that last fossil. It had a neat form and texture with a nice flat surface on one end. Thank you for a lovely walk on a gorgeous day. (I think the sounds of the water all sequenced would make a lovely audio cd.)
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it so much, it was a fun time for me too. In past times, I would have taken that last fossil too, but I have too many now to display, and so quality of the remaining features makes it into my decision making. I agree, water sounds are a great relaxation tool... I think I'd want to keep a continuous sampling though, without foot fall sounds, wind sounds, or splashes, it would be a tough logistical thing to accomplish, but the idea is fun to try and work out. 🙂
Oh Tom, how I've missed your videos. Thank you for sharing this beautiful location. I especially like the sound and views of the countless waterfalls. The huge slabs of stone are magnificent.
I too have not been able to go on such a wonderful walk as this for some time. I miss it so much, thank you for taking us along. Really enjoyed the scenery - the river and the beautiful light filtering around you. Look forward to your next video. Again, Thank you.
Another lovely video walk and forage Tom, always love your walks and please don't cut out the stone climbing it truly makes the viewing, and give us a chance to view the lovely Yorkshire countryside as you progress, keep the videos coming Tom they are so lovely to watch
Tom, I positively am addicted to your videos and also fascinated by the topic of"public paths" that go thru private property. Here in the states no one can go on private property. There are records in Surrey in the mid-1400s of my direct ancestor George Stoffolde (Stovall) being hauled into court SEVERAL times for "blocking a public path". He insisted he had the right as it was "his property". I guess he was about 200 years too early and on the wrong continent. Eventually, the fines must have drained him to the point where he has no further records for the same offense.
Beautiful Areas! Very Pleasant and calming, Thank you! I Love these kinds of videos as well as your others, it gives a chance to to see the beauty around you.
Bravo Tom,absolutely beautiful, I also am amazed at the amount of stones that were moved on that countryside the area at one time must have been a beehive of activity. I also love the way the area has been allowed to evolve back to its origin.Looking forward to seeing more of these walks and enjoying your home. Thanks again.
Even though you didn’t discover many treasures this was a MOST enjoyable video. I loved the ambient nature sounds and crunching footsteps, water and your narration. Perfect! Thank you!

Just beautiful. Took me back to my childhood when I explored woodlands & streams all day! Thank you
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. That's what I did with many childhood days too 🙂

Deborah, we must be twins. 😔😘
@@joysherriff8461 Make that triplets.
Sound of the running water is lovely! A very beautiful part of the world 😍
Yes 🙂I'm very blessed to live here
Tom, that was lovely. Since I no longer have the strength nor agility to ramble along pathways and traverse the streams and rivers, I so appreciate your doing it and allowing me to go with. Tha.

I'm looking foward to watching your Premiere too. Another meet up would be great, as soon as it's safe to do so. 🙂
@@tom_burleigh Yes of course! A socially distanced meet-up x

A refreshing walk with you and all the others who need a little "countryside" in their lives ! Thanks so much...

That was so lovely to watch. I immediately noticed no litter like we have here in the US. Thank you for sharing a little piece of heaven with us.
Wonderful walk , beautiful scenery, perfect narration and music all makes for a great day. We need more of this in our lives. Thank you Mr. Burleigh
A very peaceful and relaxing video Tom. I also find quite a few stigmaria where I go fossil hunting
We've just watched this for the second time. It's my favourite of your videos so far. So soothing, so beautiful, so scenic.

Just what I need after the day of simulated warfare here in the US. A nice calming walk near the water with Mr. Burleigh.
Hope you enjoyed it. 🙂

Just the kind of blissful magic I need after days of madness here in the Colonial US.
I hear you Leah Yarnes. ( I'm in Michigan.) So nice to have these peaceful videos.

Beautiful walk. Thank you for bringing me along!

Yes Tom, I very much enjoyed your walk. The stone walls and paths are lovely to see along with the beautiful woodland.

It's midnight, here in Ohio. With sleepless nights being the norm, your soothing walks calm the soul...thank you
Thank you Tom I felt every stone and every rock under your feet it was a lovely day out.
so good to be out climbing rocks & creeks without getting wet , and all that blue skies & green trees are good for the soul. Thank you for taking us with you , please continue. ☺
Thank you, I agree... it feels great to be out rock-hopping. I'm glad you enjoyed watching along. 🙂
Delightful !!! Thank you for taking us with you, I would love to see more. ✌🏼
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I hope to film more walk/rock hopping videos. 🙂
So relaxing to listen to the sound of your foot steps and the beautiful scenery. Thank you for sharing.
Ahhh☺️, simply beautiful day! Thank you, Tom👏.
Thank you for a wonderful walk in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside Tom, the light and reflections of the water at 41,12 was just magical, this was a perfect antidote to the present situation we are all in.
Wonderful. I could watch & listen forever.
This was such a lovely walk. Thank you for bringing me along.
So soothing and refreshing to go on walks with you. Reminds me of creeks and forests and meadow's I knew so well when younger and much more spry. Thank you Tom from Ojai, California.
Such tranquility and peace. Thank you for sharing your walk with us.
A beautiful walk! Thanks for taking us along!
Lovely walk, beautiful scenery, delightful company, thank you.

What a charming little village. Loved the old church. Your videos are always so relaxing.
Thank you Tom for taking us along. Your voice lured me. I had to pause to close my eyes. I’ve been watching your Mudlarking videos and this walk around your ancient wooded area was a treat. 😍
Loved the rock hopping and the sound of the moving water. It was a beautiful walk. Thanks for sharing.
Ohhh Tom. Loved every minute of that. So relaxing, interesting and such beautiful surroundings. Thank you!
I just keep rewatching your videos,I enjoy the peace and quiet.. So much else online is jaring, it's a very welcome change.
I also love walks where you can gather food and search for treasures as well!
Loved it Tom, thank you! I will get out there again. Nice to see fallen trees, moss and bright skies. A grand day out 😊
What a lovely walk in the countryside...thank you Tom!
I'm obsessed with the houses close together with walkways and walls winding all over
Thank you for a lovely walk. I love seeing the lepidodendron fossils, always a treat.
You bring me peace with your videos. Thank you.
Another lovely video Tom. Silent where there is much beauty and your soothing voice with interesting narrative and facts.I look forward to viewing each one.
Thank you, I'm glad you liked the silent parts, I haven't included many of them before... none as long as in this video. 🙂
This sincerely keeps us sane. Many thanks 🇦🇺

Love your videos Tom, especially the way you film them. I feel as though I'm right there with you.
So many sweet spots I would bring my small gas burner and make a cup of tea and sit and sketch or do some watercolors. Thank you for this wonderful walk .
I miss doing that; I never was very good with watercolours, but it was still fun. I'm glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
I got to think Tom Burleigh must be one of the most Chill people on UA-cam today and a great go to when you run out of Time Team videos !
The soothing sights and sounds in this video improved my day a hundred-fold. Relaxed and re-nourished now! Thank you, Tom for such a pleasant ramble and for the historical snippets, too. Stay safe and healthy.
Thank you! And hello from Michigan!
I was lucky enough to be the archaeological officer of an 18th century cotton mill in the north west, absolutely love exploring mill ruins and industrial heritage
Absolutely enchanting. Quite a difference between my American desert and your Woodlands.
What a delightful video. You must have had a very happy childhood with such a place to call home. Thank you for making this video and sharing it.
That was a glorious walk. Wow such beautiful scenery and the rocky stream tranquilizing. I'd be stopping all the time to take pictures. Ooh and a picnic on one of the big rocks. I too have not been able to go on such a wonderful walk as this for some time. I miss it so much, thank you for taking us along. Really enjoyed the scenery - the river and the beautiful light filtering around you. Look forward to your next video. Again, Thank you.
Loved the walk, gave me nostalgia for my childhood
Lovely walk with beautiful scenery and the sound of flowing water
Another lovely video walk and forage Tom, always love your walks and please don't cut out the stone climbing it truly makes the viewing, and give us a chance to view the lovely Yorkshire countryside as you progress, keep the videos coming Tom they are so lovely to watch
Such a peaceful and beautiful...thanku verymuch
How many of you laughed in delight when Tom said., "This way lies chickens."
Yesss chickens are life :)
So beautiful = you are very fortunate to live in such a place. Also, the history is so rich and entertaining. thank you
Bravo Tom,absolutely beautiful, I also am amazed at the amount of stones that were moved on that countryside the area at one time must have been a beehive of activity. I also love the way the area has been allowed to evolve back to its origin.Looking forward to seeing more of these walks and enjoying your home. Thanks again.
Beautiful pathways and I love to see the old rock work. Thanks, Tom. Good job!
