I always loved how oppressive the first zero game was... like, you awaken to the scraps of a dieing resistance, and in the end, you don't really improve anything, you just assassinate the regimes current leader. This boss theme always made any boss feel like "If I fail, the whole base will fall because of this guy alone."
Yeah Z1 was grim. Like when you woke, the resistance leader was almost caught out and their base was held hostage by that eagle boss. Like they were on their last toe before Zero shredded the Arcadians
@@Phoenixesper1I love that kinda storytelling tho. Like maybe it’s the gundam/code geass fan in me but I always love that kind of dark storytelling with a moral basis. The world isn’t dark because it can be, it’s dark because of x and y and z and you can’t keep yourself out of that dark.
Funny thing is, this theme is remixed throughout the entire Zero series...but in later games, it's delegated to a mid-boss theme...and each remix is more intense than the last! This is a fine re-take of the first version!
8 Months old and I still like it. I played this game a lot when I was younger. I was terrible at it, but I always had something to play if I was bored.. "Zero! No! Run! You can't damage this thing with a buster!" *"I don't exactly have anywhere else to GO, CIEL!"*
I just like this boss theme by how "barebones" it feels. It's not overly emotional, doesn't have an overelaborated melody or excessive catchiness. It's just PLAIN, PURE *INTENSE* battle. Truly a fight theme. Strong Will, Scrapped Beat and Nothing Beats are all much more refined and funky, but this one... None of them can catch this one theme. My favorite regular boss battle theme from all Mega Man, I think
You can feel it in Crash 2 and 3 as well, they become more upbeat and driving rather than ominous and oppressive And then Crash 4 is a completely unique song
@@uandresbrito5685 Yeah Crash 3 is like, a ghost of what Crash 1 was, just a few motif bits, 2 is much more upbeat but still has the same overall structure Crash 4 is just a different song using the same name
I get flashback to the first time I fought Phantom. I had a hard time back then, now it's one of my favorite boss battle and the one i most associate "Crash" with.
Woah, i wasnt a fan of the original theme but you made it so catchy to listen to! I really love this remix, great job as usual Koki 🙂 We have roughly a month left till Megaman ZZX collection!!!
This is it!! The theme i was looking for. Pure Evil in the beginning then a glimpse of hope ending with a desperate attempt to defeat evil with the slightest chance.
I only learned that 1 or 2 years ago myself. It's such a game changer that I casually mention it every now and then because more people have to know about these functions.
I'll politely disagree on that. The original Crash (and its OST remix) were both heavy mechanical beats that reminded you of how bleak the world of Neo Arcadia and its borders could be. It was heavy and intense, with the gravity of an entire world coming crashing down upon you, all in an attempt to futilely restore their order, at the cost of innocent lives. I liked it for setting the bleak tone of the series, that feeling of a crumbling world desperate for a semblance of peace but in the process imposing a hefty toll, one that must be fought back at all costs. If anything, this feels like a more triumphant remix, a song of oppression repurposed by the now-empowered Resistance in the setting sun of Copy X's regime.

Yeah, the zero series was like the opposite of star trek. If you aren't wearing red, you dead.
Ironically you can ignore nearly all of them to little penalty
YEP... that is LITERALLY the plot of the entire zero saga. Progress through lesser degrees of evil...

If this means we will have other boss themes from this franchise then I’m all for it. Keep it up!

Music really fits how difficult the boss battles can be.

It sounds amazing, thanks for uploading Koki!

Zero:OK.

Very fitting instrument choices for this one.
One of the best boss themes in all of Rockman
The style is peculiar, but it looks like a ring to the finger.
Excellent work.
Amazing remix! I was waiting for this for weeks
Amazing job on remixing Crash my dude! Keep up the good work!
Sickest fucken mix ever!!!!!

Ironic timing, I was replaying MMZ just yesterday.
Double right click: Loop 👍
I wish mobile had that option.

The boss theme in Megaman Zero 1 illicit the filling of dread, sinister, emptiness, apathy but has sheer intensity.
cool!
Zero and Battle Network uses a lot of internet and technology puns.
pls, do more megaman zero remix! i love yours
I love this
Do Crash IV from Mega Man Zero 4 next please! :)
Will it come with the OST remix's "Yeah yeah yeah yeah! No no no no no no!"?
Craaaaaaaash!
*dancing*
I hope someday you make a remix of X's intro stage theme from Megaman X4
Can we get a high quality download link for this? Like a .FLAC file? I get it if you want to restrict that to paying supporters though.
Thank you for this food Koki.
KokiRemix could u pls do “train” from megaman zero 1
Next, Boss theme rockmanzero4?
I hate how the 3 games built up characters for the 4 (3 if you're nitpicking) guardians just to kill them off-screen.
That’s just how it goes sometimes, they all served their purpose in the story and they lived on in ZX and ZX advent in the biometals
Excellent! Original was always kinda bleh IMO, but this really makes it work

Do remasters for yugioh duel links
This is actually more like Crash II than Crash I with the alarm replaced by bass (at least I think it’s bass? Idk I don’t music).
