I installed it today, and the difference in feel it makes is just amazing. I couldn't stop smiling as I shifted and the feeling of driving got better. The best upgrade I have bought by far.
Just installed today. It takes quite a while to get to your home (live in South FL) but well worth it. Instant difference with the shifts. Each gear goes in securely and with a nice clack. The hardest step here is the actual replacement of the spring. Be careful that the spring connecting the 2 metal plates doesnt come off. If it does, youll have a hard time trying to put everything together again since the ball bearing comes off pretty easily. Overall, a 15-20 min job if you follow this video and a major improvement to your shifter.
If only I'd read some of the comments about NOT testing BEFORE finishing re-assembly! Thought it wasn't going to work, but it needs the top case in place before the ball stays put. SO anyone as daft as me - please just follow the instructions in the video - DO NOT TEST till you've finished! And you'll love it. It's transformed the shifter from toy to something much more realistic. Thanks again.
Same for me. Do not test until you have put the 6 screws back in otherwise the ball jumps out! Once those 6 are back in place it was fine for me to test.
Just got it in the mail today. Super easy to put in. Super improvement to the stock feel. Nice to feel resistance when trying to go into neutral then into the next gear. It's a must have. Just buy it. Won't regret it.
Ok I just installed this mod and it's *freaking amazing.* Just don't try to test the shifter mid-install before you screw *everything* back in. I was a dumbass and was too excited to try it out but it wasn't held in tight enough so the ball bearing slid out of place, causing me to take it all apart again to redo it (which is a pain when the ball keeps falling out of place, and messy if you get your hands greasy). But after it's all put together, the shifter feels so much more realistic and IMO completely craps all over the other expensive af 3d printed fragile crap (you know which popular mod I'm talking about). I don't foresee this mod ever wearing down because it's just a piece of plastic that pushes against a ball so there's very little movement/friction. It will probably last the life of the shifter itself.
@@customsimshop This thing has alot of resistence so i might shave the plastic pc down a little on the flat side super tight shifts it clanks like crazy. you guys like it like this!? (btw yes im a customer, bought this rec'd it today)
I ordered this mod last week and i got it delivered yesterday to my Canada address. it was a bit hard to put together and I had to couple and decoupled it for at least for times for my gear positions to work properly. I was so nervous not to ruin my shifter. At the end it was an awesome experience to breathe a new life to my shifter. this mod is small but mighty in result. I would recommend
I purchased the spring for the Logitech shifter , magnets for the paddle shifter and the steering wheel adapter all went together very easily thanks for making great products 😎
@@madwedge1 it takes about 10 mins to do and I had zero problems doing so, its one of the easiest most effective mods for it your only changing one thing
This video was very helpful. The editing was great too. Speed was great and the way you pointed to the holes before unscrewing was helpful too. Thanks very much.
Thanks for the positive comments. We do understand, that these may be slightly expensive for some, but we think it pretty fair. There is slightly more involved, than just 'manufacturing the part. There is also clean-up, marketing, design, testing, making instructions, communication, labelling, packaging and lodging. We think our price is a good reflection on the effort, that goes into producing quality products.
@@customsimshop I've happily ordered one & happy to pay £17 including delivery as I do not have a 3d printer & do not have £300 for a better shifter! Its a small price to pay for a big difference.. Thanks guys for developing these little mods keep it up

Great Mod! Ordered on April 30th, shipped May 11th, arrived to Nevada May 25th. Follow the video, install isn't difficult with allen wrench, phillips screwdriver, and a small pair of pliers to grip the end nuts to remove the clamps. Worth it!
I just installed mine. It is amazing and i love it. It took me a while to install at first because i didn’t wanna screw it up. I already had an upgraded h pattern piece installed and it wasnt a big difference than the stock one Logitech came with and i removed it and added the plastic 3d item. It feels so close to a manual as it grips into and out of the gears. Thank you great product.
I've been looking at pedals and shifters for a bit and have been heavily considering getting the Logitech shifter, but I wanted to make sure that there was an easy way to modify it to feel more realistic before pulling the trigger on it. After seeing this and the g mod, I'll most likely use both mods and buy the shifter. Thanks.
@@liax2351tldr: it works well, tbh I don't use it very often anymore, I mainly played forza 5 with it (almost 200hrs of gameplay 95% of it on the wheel). As far as the shifter mod goes, it has broken in a couple places but still works just fine, be careful when going into reverse that's how I broke it the first time. The pedals are good just don't expect them to feel good right away, they take a bit of time to get used to/break in.
I just got this today and I find it much too stiff so I might try trimming it down a little. My first order somehow didn’t go through so after about 2 weeks and contacted them saying it hadn’t arrived and they sent a new one out the next day. Good customer service.
@Jean-Philippe Duplantis these replacement springs are made of rubber, so these shouldn't break. These may lose some force after years of use, but we haven't noticed any loss of force with about a years worth of use on shifters, that are being used in an arcade and see a lot of use.
Did the same, works better than this "mod" .Tried to installed, but it was a bit disapointing, its just to stiff comparing to the original spring, and the ball bearing just bounce off the shifter, works better the "screw mod".
Finally got it last weekend the mailman delivered it to another house a few streets down. Not sellers faul but lazy mailman. Luckily he was nice enough to bring it to my house. Installed it and works so much better. Grease makes a big difference, must add grease!
Just purchased as well and also learned US to Aussie dollar conversion. Lol my shifter hasn’t even arrived yet and I’m already modding 😁 and you get to retain the cool looking boot
Ok, so I ordered this modification and it's an improvement. Took about 3 weeks to arrive. I made the rubber a tiny bit shorter to make the shifting a little less stiff. Luckily an extra rubber was sent, so I'll have a spare one in its original size. Thanks for this tutorial.
Thanks for the feedback Mike, much appreciated🙏 And it's good to hear, that you can adjust the stiffness, by trimming the lenght of the rubber spring, to adjust it to your liking, as people have different preferences.
I've got it just yesterday, and it's freaking awsome! Now the shifter isn't linear as it was before the mod, and the additional load is also quite benefitial. Thanks guys for your brilliant work ;) It was worth those 10 bucks :) Delivery was quite long though, but it's not the seller fault.
I don't even have a wheel (planning to get a G920 soon) and I wanna buy this already. Lmao great job, so simple yet effective. Love how it keeps everything looking stock.
I would love to see a kit like like your sequential shifter but for h pattern that would include this, the knob & a metal h plate that goes on top replacing that goofy nut sack thing, available in all the same colors. That would be a slam dunk purchase for me.
@@bebussound7991 I didn't try this mod, I tried the cheaper one and it brokes after 1 day of use ( I tried it 2 times and it brokes 2 times after 1 day of use), this one looks simple and good but maybe 1.8kg of strength are too much for a small h shifter but I think is one of the best mod made for the logitech
@@Thenormalguy_real_one In this video he is using a solid 3d printed part that simulates a very tough spring. So I did a similar thing, matched up the stock spring with a piece of the fuel tubing and made it a bit longer. If it was too stiff to shift, I'd cut some off, and if it was too short, I'd make a slightly longer piece.
4 month update. The shifter feels great still however it is getting extremely loud and quite annoying for everyone else in the house. Any fixes for this?
REVIEW AFTER 3 MONTHS: So first of all, the product took 2-2,5 weeks to arrive i think, which is really good considering how cheap the worldwide shipping is and that it came from Australia to Europe (Germany). The installation was a bit complicated but the video assisted me very well and after a couple of hickups i got it all working after ~2h. At first it felt a little too stiff, but that was only because i was still used to the cheap toy'ish feel of the default shifter. After 3 months of using the modded shifter i tried a default shifter for the first time again today and it literally felt like nothing - thin air. This mod feels extremely amazing especially comparing it to the default shifter, it is really worlds apart! And for the price & cheap shipping it is a must buy for everybody who is willing to spend 1-2h and 8€ on their shifter to make it feel worlds better! :) More than happy with it! Just 1 thing is that I had to screw it to the desk very, very hard in order for it to not get lose, but once that was done it never moved a bit & felt amazing at all times ^^ Thank you for making this amazing product!
I decided to take the shifter apart a final time to see if I could figure out what went wrong, and I could see that as I had pushed the mechanism back in, (getting grease all over my hands, and struggling to keep the bearing in place) the potentiometer on the right side had rotated, so it was upside down, and the tiny black wire connected to it had broken. I soldered the wire, carefully put it all back together correctly, and IT WORKS AGAIN!!! I nearly cried. Your product is great, the shifter is no longer "toylike" and has a solid, realistic action and feel to it.
Word of warning: I installed but now I can only get 5th gear or reverse, everything went together fine so i'm confused.... So I took it apart to check and noticed the 2 small red and yellow wires got cut by mistake when i re-assembled it. My mistake, not the product, but be double careful and check all wires are 100% away from screw holes.
Wanted to love this per other users. Attempted it twice but even after it was put together, the bearing would pop out when shifting. Made sure the concave portion was where the bearing was. Still no joy. Put the original spring back and all is back to normal. The base of the 3D printed piece is slanted so this could be the issue giving the bearing too much pressure against the metal plate. Will try to file it and attempt again. As is, it is super hard to move. No flexibility in the piece as there should be or it is just not the size it needs to be. Glad it worked for others.
We are sorry to hear that. Did you add some grease for the bearing to move easier on the metal plate. There is a lot of added friction for the metal ball to move on the metal plate, so adding grease is required for it to work smoothly. If for some reason it still keeps popping out, then just cut 2 layers of rubber off the end of the spring, which should be enough to reduce the resistance enough to work properly. We haven't had these issues ourselves and we have tested these mods on tens of different shifters with even stiffer springs and haven't had the ball bearing to pop out before, so we are unsure why you are having problems with it.
^ this. I’m so pissed off with how this thing installs and the video is SO fucking dumb. No comprehensive guide for ANYTHING. God what a fucking disaster.
So it finally arrived to Germany after 3 weeks & 2 days. I've never dissembled my shifter before so it was a great thing to follow this video 1:1. It still took me ~2h in total as I struggled with the part of putting the very inner parts back together. I eventually made it tho, got it all back together and it really works great! My only concern about this mod is that I literally have to use a pipe wrench to tighten my shifter to the desk because it is so strong that it would move around after a couple shits already. The mod / modded shifter itself feels very, very strong and makes it feel so much less like a toy! You actually need quite some force now, personally I think it should be just a liiiiiittle bit less stiff but I don't I want to dissemble it again just to make the rubber a tiny bit shorter. As I've said, feels much better than the original spring, can only recommend it, but also suggest it for the use on a playseat. I think it will last very long as the part just replaces a default one and shouldn't show any wear. Will see how it is in a few weeks, but so far it is amazing! Cheers
Really appreciate your thorough feedback about the installation and feel. Thank you👌 Regarding the shifter tightening part, then if you would add some double-sided tape, or some rubber pads under the shifter, then that may hold the shifter in it's place better and won't have to make the spring shorter.
@@customsimshop Thanks for the answer, I will not make the spring shorter i think, I am happy with the result! ^^ I will have a look at the suggestion with the tape / rubber pads! Cheers
Hi, did you notice if it the shifter makes more noise when moving the lever? In my case, the shifter now offers more resistance but it also sounds a lot more too
Yeah, I'm planning the same thing. I'm just preparing to buy the G29 and the shifter, but I don't have them yet, but when they arrive - oh boy, will I have some modding to do :D
Just installed today the install was really easy actually pretty fun it took forever to get to the US I live in cali but who cares. The shifter feels really nice now I added grease like the vid said and in my opinion the shifter should’ve came like this. Good product
Thx for this little thing!!! But, in a brand new logi shifter ist was 0.3 - 0,5mm to long! it was to hart to shift! but i cut it with a hot Knife and it works perfect!! greetz from Germany! ;-)
I would think you could also still use the spring with a spacer to make the spring a bit more compressed, if you do not like how hard it is to pull with a solid peace of plastic in there, and you could make it varying lengths to give the spring less or more compression.
I think im startinf understand how its able shift and why its so sloppy and correct me if im wrong but couldnt u jus sand down the little bar till the spring slides over and then sand the bar short enough to ur liking and when its together itss be easily until the spring that originally would be touces the balls bottoms out onto the the shorted little bar making it still stiff but a little easier to shift like an oldschool muscle?
It makes a huge difference, thank you! I did not put extra oil like you did at 3:29. Is that problem? The shifter is brand new so it was oily in there.
I ordered one, then took a look at the video so I'd know how I'd assemble it. My immediate concern is removing the spring altogether, so while following the disassembly shown here I got an understanding of why the shift is so light. The spring isn't rather stiff, and making it stiffer is as simple as taking one of the screws used for holding the bottom clamp in to the bottom (as long as its not needed), and inserting into the spring, and putting that back with the screw head inwards, remembering the ball bearing. A few rubberbands around the shaft where it contacts the plastic, and it makes a clunck but isn't awful when wearing headphones. Makes the shifter about twice as stiffer, while the mod showcased makes it 3 times stiffer.
I thought about so many alternatives and ended up just improving the existing setup with adding 2 small spacers in the groove ground where the spring is set in. It allows the spring to have some initial tension and it has improved a lot already with that. Anyhow, took me way longer than expected (90 mins, but I had to search for the right tools).
@@andyimbrogno6900 The ones you have and the ones which fits will do the job. I used some mainboard spacers similar to M2.5*6, just make sure you can put everything together as the force of the spring will increase and therefor eit will be more difficult to reassemble.
Finnaly someone done it properly, not a copy of 3Drap.it trash idea but u know that the G25 shifter have a bit different mechanism and spring hole is bigger? :P
Thank you Firssen Simracing🙏 Developing these, we wanted to design something, that would be easy to change and cheap to buy. But thanks for the info about the G25, we have to look into it now. Unfortunately we haven't realised, that a G25 mechanism is different as we haven't installed it on that shifter yet, but visually looked the same, when we took it apart.
@@pizzadriver I've been ragging the shit out of my shifter, for a while, and it's holding up fine. I mean for people who don't wanna take the whole thing apart it's good
@@kjp-sy8uf well as i said, it will get weak after just some time and eventually break any time basically.. also will get dirt/dust from the part itself into the shifter when its rubbing against these parts
This is the epitome of sunk cost fallacy. I really should have watched this video before ordering that part. But here I was halfway watching the video and going oh no no no no no no no no no no no no no no. But it was already too late so I had to keep going. And now it works
Great mod! Though I recommend cutting a very small amount of the rubber spring off (about 1/5 the diameter of the ball) as the spring is WAY too stiff if you don't do this. But perhaps after you wear it in it will be better.
So... I should have read the comments below before installing today. I tried to test it before completely re-assembling the shifter and the ball bearing shot out three times! I tried filing some of the new "spring" down, but it still shot out. I eventually cut about 1/4" off the flat end and used it under the original spring as a pre-loader--which seems to work great, added maybe twice the resistance but doesn't feel notchy. So I suppose if you re-assemble the whole shifter before testing it adds enough rigidity to the unit to retain the ball bearing...but boy would one be pissed off if the ball bearing shot out after a full re-assembly! I also added at the same time the G-mod open H patten with magnets and Gmod shift knob...just tested at Laguna in Project Cars 2 in an Boss 302....shifts and feels fantastic! So didn't quite use as the Custom Sim shop intended but turned out great. Custom Sim Shop, but a note, or voice over in the video for folks not to test until fully put back together!
G27 user here, tried installing it today and the amount of force needed to shift is unreal, if I continued something would've broke, either something inside the shifter itself or my wheel/shifter mount stand, ok maybe not the stand, but certainly would be into bending territory. The amount of force that was needed to shift in and out of a gear would send the shifter down or up into the next gear. I'm surprised nothing got damaged damage while working with it the shifting after I had greased it up. I disassembled and reassembled it two different times, checking my every move over double, even triple times to ensure I was doing everything correctly. May have got a defective/slightly misprinted dimensions mod.
We're sorry to hear that you've had a bad experience with this mod, but we haven't heard from anyone else with such a problem. All these rubber springs are made with the same tolerances and would operate the same. If you had some slight problems with the force, then we would recommend cutting 1-2 layers off the spring from the bottom, which should be visible when looking at the spring. 1 layer is 0.2mm and each layer would make the spring less stiffer to operate the shifter with. And the metal faca where the ball bearing moves, needs to have grease on it for a smoother operation. Hopefully this helps.
@@customsimshopI just got mine today and had the same issue. It was wayyy to stiff almost to the point where it feels like it will break something if I continue to use it like so. You can even see the first layer looks sort of awkward like it didn’t bed very well the first print layer. I’ll try and file it down a bit to see if that helps. It may be worth y’all printing 1 extra layer and then sanding the bottom ensuring it’s flat and then measure for tolerances before shipping them. You could even print a jig to hold 10-20 of them at a time and then a couple passes with sandpaper will get them all perfect.
Hello I ordered this upgrade from you guys i also emailed you guys a couple times and still no response….for an order I placed on the 18 of November is there a tracking number for my package?
Just out mine in, will say, definitely feels much firmer. But... The lack of spring makes it very very clunky. Might experiment with mine and cut it so it becomes a spacer instead for the spring just a solid mount for the ball
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE BUYING: Do it! It's absolutely amazing, and feels so much better and more realistic. COST: The actual part was $10, and shipping was $7 so $17. Good investment. DELIVERY: Shipping took 20 days to the US, very slow, however it's worth it! INSTALIATION: The installation was very easy. about 20 mins. This video is super easy to follow so no problem here. The only thing is, you might need the screw drivers to take apart the shifter. SHOULD YOU BUY? Yes you should! Take it from me, it's a very nice improvement. Hope this helped anyone looking to buy this. I know I wanted this comment before I bought it. 🔥🔥🫡
I just bought this. Seriously, it's the best mod for this shifter. If you're comfortable with a screwdriver this is really easy to do. I added a weighted shift knob to counter the stiffness, plus rare earth magnets at the 6 positions for a crisper shift. Now I have a shifter that feels very close to "real". Keep in mind there is no actual transmission connected to the shifter so it's more like shift practice when the car is off. Very, very nice mod. Buy it or print one yourself, it's definitely worth it.
Good to see an Aussie company coming out with some good looking mods for the G series wheel and pedal sets. I'm in qld and interested in both this and the sequential kit for my shifter and the magnetic mod for my wheel. I do wonder how much load is put through the factory plastic bits though. I believe the other end of the tube you place the spring inside would be plastic so extra load is gonna be pushed that way. Also, in the sequential mod vid you showed, it seems the plastic casing of the shifter is flexing. It could be the rig used for the video but the extra load would have to go somewhere.
Thank you for the kind feedback Logan🙏 Regarding the 'H-pattern spring mod' then we have been using these in many different shifters for about a year now and none of these have shown any signs of wear, as the 'spring' is rubber and has a fair amount of elasticity. And with the 'Sequential shifter' video, then there is no flex in the plastic casing. In 1 of the videos, a 'Playseat' simulator is used and the mounting points aren't that strong and have some flex. And in the 2nd video, where there are 2x shifters, the green one is also installed temporarily and wasn't fixed down properly, just to demonstrate the possibility of 2x shifters simultaneously. Hope this clears some concerns you might have about our kit.
hi ! I just tried to replicate this idea with a bit of wood and it turned out great ! i could not have ordered it as shipping costs would have been high as i live in UK, But ty for the idea !
@@leordeansg may I ask, if you changed the whole spring to a 'wood alternative' or did you just add a small spacer under the spring? Just wondering, as our mod is made of rubber and would have some elastic properties to it..
@@customsimshop no, I just noticed that its made from rubber.. it seems to work fine with the wood for now.. I think the wood pushes the whole assembly to the side, thats where the ball moves to the next slot.
Make sure you borrow a little grease for the ball bearing that will help it not shoot out when you do it, other than that great tutorial it only took 1 hardware store trip to get it done 😭😭 (thats my fault tho)
I finally installed this after buying it over a year ago. Great feel, but the shifter no longer works in the game, electronics didn't like being messed with. so, buying a new one, looking at alternatives.
So I decided to see what's inside my logitech shift so I took it apart and saw that 1 of the screws were the same size as that hole where the spring goes. Decided the screw was not needed so I just put the screw in behind the spring and it stiffens it up alot. Definitely going to take apart again and add another to strengthen the feel more but basically its just like the pedals, add spacer and it increases resistance. Good mod tho. Probably would have bought but live in florida so I didn't want to wait for it to ship lol.
This is a great idea. I just installed this mod and to be honest it is quite disappointing for me. Replacing the feather with their plastic stick makes it very clunky and extremely loud. You will annoy anyone who lives in the same house while using this. I think I will take it apart again cut this plastic stick in half and put it with the original feather back in
@@Max.44 I just installed it and completely agree. It's loud and too notchy. Did you try cutting the part as you suggested? Curious to know if that makes it better.
@@Max.44 Thanks for the reply. I might give it a shot when I feel like taking it apart again. I can imagine it will be difficult to get back together with a preloaded spring.
Just received my today I'm looking forward to installing it I see some comments about greasing the ball bearing and was just wondering if there's a special or certain type of Grease I should be using or just any old bearing grease with do?
Ok this is verrryy interesting! I have a question. I use a challenge playseat with a 3d printed g29 shifter mount. Is this mount steardy enough to deal with the added friction? I've bought a weak shifter mod which broke in 1 month or so, but I miss the feel of the friction it gave! This seems a LOT more steardy, but just makes me wonder if it wont put to much stress on the shifter mount.
How long does it normally take? I ordered it on September 15th, it shipped on the 16th but no tracking from Australia to USA. I'm just excited to test it out. Haha. I already took my shifter apart and back together for practice. Lol.
We have been using these springs for over 6months without any issues. Since these are solid rubber, then these should keep their elastic properties quite well.

@youget2 please make sure to fully assemble the shifter before trying to shift. The casing gives the shifter it's rigidity and helps hold the ball bearing in place. Please also add some grease on the metal plate the ball bearing slides against.
I ordered one, I understand the way it works, but the one I received was too long and wouldn't let the ball bearing seat properly so I ended up just cutting a small piece off and used the factory spring and gave me significant resistance but not quite what was advertised. I just bought my shifter, so it could have easily been a revision to the shifter or an error in 3d printing. Either way I got something to work and I'm satisfied.
I thought you were going to use a stiffer spring, but the part you installed looks like a solid piece? Won't that put extra stress on the plastic mechanism of the shifter?
simple question, if i was to flip my shifter around inside the plastic so my reverse is push down and up into 1st. would it all bolt back together and line up?
Guys so stressed about doing this mod. A lot of comments saying to try do this and don’t do that. Stressing me out🥲 Can someone list me everything I need to do this mod. Even the part with the grease is stressing me out. Where do I put it how much should I put, what if it gets in the wires or something. Please and thank you😂
So the easiest method would be: 1. Install the replacement spring 2. Install the 6 screws that hold the metal plates in place 3. Add extra grease on the metal plate where the ball bearing moves against for a smoother movement 4. Don't try the shifter operation before you have re-installed all the plastic casing screws, as that gives the shifter move rigidity and the ball bearing won't pop out then. Some people have tried the operation before putting ALL the screws back in, causing the ball bearing to pop out. Hope this relieves your stress a bit and you'll be able to enjoy the improved shifter😁
@Patman494 Unfortunately, it's not possible. Got mine yesterday and tried with both 42 and 44mm O-Rings and it's just too stiff. I see people here are mentioning trimming the spring with sandpaper for ~1mm and maybe that will do a trick regarding sequential mod as that should loosen the stiffness but haven't tested myself still. Will probably try that as a regular H-pattern is very hard and notchy to shift to any gear as well at the moment.
Does anyone happen to know the diameter of the spring/hole the spring goes in? You could technically just put a small object in the hole so the stock spring is compressed, right? Or does that not work?
I opened mine and found the spring is 0.5mm in diameter. Meaning you could just pop a small object in the hole (not too tall or it will be too stiff). I tried another commenter's solution of using one of the screws, but I also added some small circles I cut out of a thick rubber band. I should have just went with the screw, because this is sooooo stiff 😂 accompanied by a loud THWACK every time I shift. Lol so anyway, just the screw by itself is likely plenty. The hardest part of the whole thing is getting all the screws out!! The screws buried deep were annoying.
I installed it today, and the difference in feel it makes is just amazing. I couldn't stop smiling as I shifted and the feeling of driving got better. The best upgrade I have bought by far.
How long did arrive when you ordered it?
I ordered it just less than a month ago and it arrived today. I'm in the UK and it came from Australia.. so. literally other side of the world
Almost a month and the wait was well worth it
Can i ask where you put the grease? I can’t tell from the video and I’m not sure if he put it on the ball bearing or somewhere else.
@@kirai4139 on the ball yeah. Doesnt really matter, on the plate or the ball
This looks like a great mod, but the real takeaway is that I need one of those screwdrivers
Where can one be found?!
I find a small enough allen wrench can sometimes work for those star shaped screws, but you may strip the heads if not careful.
You can find them at Jaycar in Australia
haha I was just thinking the same thing!!
Its called a wowstick. I believe they can be found on amazon.
Appreciate this comment.
How long it took to deliver?
Bro can you tell me that what type of spring it is and where I will get it any details
Once those 6 are back in place it was fine for me to test.
i just did tested it without putting all the screws back in 😑😑
Just got it in the mail today. Super easy to put in. Super improvement to the stock feel. Nice to feel resistance when trying to go into neutral then into the next gear. It's a must have. Just buy it. Won't regret it.
Thanks for the feedback Reaper and glad ro hear you like the mod👌
Thank you for your feedback Darrin🙏 Glad to hear that you like the improved feel it provides and for providing people with a thorough review👌

We do understand, that these may be slightly expensive for some, but we think it pretty fair. There is slightly more involved, than just 'manufacturing the part. There is also clean-up, marketing, design, testing, making instructions, communication, labelling, packaging and lodging.

I've been looking at pedals and shifters for a bit and have been heavily considering getting the Logitech shifter, but I wanted to make sure that there was an easy way to modify it to feel more realistic before pulling the trigger on it. @Jean-Philippe Duplantis these replacement springs are made of rubber, so these shouldn't break. These may lose some force after years of use, but we haven't noticed any loss of force with about a years worth of use on shifters, that are being used in an arcade and see a lot of use.

REVIEW AFTER 3 MONTHS:
So first of all, the product took 2-2,5 weeks to arrive i think, which is really good considering how cheap the worldwide shipping is and that it came from Australia to Europe (Germany).
More than happy with it!
Just 1 thing is that I had to screw it to the desk very, very hard in order for it to not get lose, but once that was done it never moved a bit & felt amazing at all times ^^

Mine took 23 days to arrive. Installation only takes 30minutes. This is a great mod. Feels solid and notchy just the way it should be.
I just placed an order for mine, I can't wait to see the difference!
I'm having the same issue. Bearing won't stay in even with dielectric grease
@cmf487 did you sort this issue out?
Thank you👌
Regarding the shifter tightening part, then if you would add some double-sided tape, or some rubber pads under the shifter, then that may hold the shifter in it's place better and won't have to make the spring shorter.

Which tools you did use?
@@MatzBird simple screwdriver, but you need longer ones here and there
What kind of spacer did you use?? Any pics?
@@andyimbrogno6900 The ones you have and the ones which fits will do the job. I used some mainboard spacers similar to M2.5*6, just make sure you can put everything together as the force of the spring will increase and therefor eit will be more difficult to reassemble.

@@staticlifeshock5753 ;)
Beautiful job

SHOULD YOU BUY? Yes you should! Take it from me, it's a very nice improvement.
Hope this helped anyone looking to buy this. I know I wanted this comment before I bought it. 🔥🔥🫡
Didn’t receive mine it’s been 8 weeks 🤨
Thank you for the kind feedback Logan🙏
Regarding the 'H-pattern spring mod' then we have been using these in many different shifters for about a year now and none of these have shown any signs of wear, as the 'spring' is rubber and has a fair amount of elasticity.

That's great to hear, that you found our video useful👍 As to the shipping cost of these 'spring mods' , it is $3 AUD worldwide.
@@customsimshop ah really ? Damn it
@@leordeansg may I ask, if you changed the whole spring to a 'wood alternative' or did you just add a small spacer under the spring?
Just wondering, as our mod is made of rubber and would have some elastic properties to it..
@@customsimshop no, I just noticed that its made from rubber.. it seems to work fine with the wood for now.. I think the wood pushes the whole assembly to the side, thats where the ball moves to the next slot.
@@customsimshop i think i might buy one from you guys if its made from rubber to avoid further problems 😅
What Grease did you use?
Lithium grease, it worked for me.
Make sure you borrow a little grease for the ball bearing that will help it not shoot out when you do it, other than that great tutorial it only took 1 hardware store trip to get it done 😭😭 (thats my fault tho)
It took about 3 weeks to get this mod but I have to say. It's shifts a whole lot better and install took maybe 10 minutes.
@@simond5583 Yes, very difficult to put together but I'm using the original spring with about 1/4 of this piece and that works nicely.
Lol.
How reliable is this spring?
I installed mine and it makes a huuuuuge difference! Definitely worth the upgrade!
We have been using these springs for over 6months without any issues. Since these are solid rubber, then these should keep their elastic properties quite well.
How long for shipping I live in the U.S.
@@sv3351 so far, it has taken between 2-3 weeks for delivery to the states.
@@customsimshop I ordered one yesterday!
I ordered one about 3 weeks ago and it still hasn't come in. I live on the east coast of the U.S. do you guys know of orders are backed up or can track a package? Thanks
Is that a torx bit driver? If so, what size? I just got mine in the mail and plan on installing soon. Just want to make sure i have the correct tools
Did you use a different spring as well?
The 'spring' is the modification. We have designed a stiffer spring to replace the stock spring.
@@customsimshop I wasn't able to see it clearly in the video. Thanks for the reply.
@@888PsyMike888 am I able to buy the spring you use any where else?
@@digitaldownshifts5199 the spring is only available through our webshop @ Www.CustomSimShop.com which comes with worldwide shipping for only $2-5AUD depending on location.
No. He replaced the spring with a bit of plastic to make the ball harder to move, thats where you get the extra shifting Strength
Do you ship overseas? because I live here in the PH and would love to get your product.
Just ordered on the 22/08, will update on how it goes!
Update: order has been shipped as of 24/08
Update: I checked my mailbox, and it was in there I haven't checked within the last 7 days so between now and then it
arrived.
You just got scammed
It’s not going to come in
@@MK8juancho I really hope that isn't the case, im really looking forward to getting this mod. Why do you say this anyways, have you had bad experiences with this company before?
@@D.e.p.p.p I ordered from customsimshop on july 30 and they said it would be delivered in 21 days and I'm still waiting, I ended up using charge back on paypal to get my money back, they did not even provide tracking info!! and support did not respond
@RarioTrarioWario yeah, I live in Australia so the estimated delivery was like 5-7 business days for me, its been past that but I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt for now, if it continues I'll contact support and if no reply I'll charge back as well.
I'm thinking seriously about buying this thing because i'm a trucker, and my logitech g27 shifter just feels to light for a truck....
Me too I bought one for truck
@@alphafilm8191 I've already bought it. I'm waiting for it to come ;)
Ordered mine yesterday to germany, let's see how long it takes! ^^
Can you comment when you get it? Did they tell you how long shipping will take?
@@jamespond260 Still waiting as it just got shipped this tuesday, it says 1-3 weeks so i'll be patient ^^
@@pizzadriver I'll also advise how it feels when I receive mine if I remember to come back and comment!
@@BazingaIII I'm still waiting on mine, ordered exactly 2 weeks and 1 day ago, so it will arrive within the next 6 days i guess ^^
Hi there, did you receive the “item shipped” email? I paid yesterday only got an order confirmation email.
Am I doing something wrong? I tried it today and every time I shift that ball pops right out.
@youget2 please make sure to fully assemble the shifter before trying to shift. The casing gives the shifter it's rigidity and helps hold the ball bearing in place. Please also add some grease on the metal plate the ball bearing slides against.
It’s funny how he timed the video with the music.
1.9KG pulling force guaranteed??
I thought you were going to use a stiffer spring, but the part you installed looks like a solid piece? Won't that put extra stress on the plastic mechanism of the shifter?
It looks like a solid piece but based on their comments in here is actually a spring.
simple question, if i was to flip my shifter around inside the plastic so my reverse is push down and up into 1st. would it all bolt back together and line up?
I think that wouldn't work lmao
Only if you can assign a different button layout in the game. You'll have to reassign the gears. That should work.
I ordered this shifter impovement 2 days ago, do you deliver in france ?
Guys so stressed about doing this mod. A lot of comments saying to try do this and don’t do that. Stressing me out🥲
Can someone list me everything I need to do this mod.
Even the part with the grease is stressing me out. Where do I put it how much should I put, what if it gets in the wires or something.
Please and thank you😂
So the easiest method would be:
1. Install the replacement spring
2. Install the 6 screws that hold the metal plates in place
3. Add extra grease on the metal plate where the ball bearing moves against for a smoother movement
@@customsimshopI just ordered a spring from your guys shop , can’t wait for it to arrive so I can’t try it out.
At first it was really poppy but there is a break in process after a week it’s perfect
what kind of grease do you use?
Lithium grease, it worked for me.
Just got mine. A little ketchup package of grease would be nice. But It’s sexy nonetheless.
How long did it take to receive as I still haven’t got mine yet in NYC
@@anthonyhanks3166 like 3 weeks or so. USPS is the issue
Can this be combined with the cambio 3.5 from 3DRap?
Yes!
Ordered this 3 weeks ago still waiting can’t wait tho
2 years later still the best upgrade I’ve bought
With this mod, are you still able to use a rubberband mod to make it a sequential shifter? Or is the shifting force to high with it?
The screws buried deep were annoying.
which side of thespring does it go on/ thanks@@pfunkle
@@govindersingh3058 Put the screw on the inside (head down) and place the spring over it; the spring holds the screw in place.
