I remember a friend and I once had a discussion on what the safest object in school was.
You could choke on markers, potentially hurt yourself with the whiteboard if you somehow took it off the wall, you could jump off a desk, etc
We eventually agreed on calculators, our reasoning being that the worst a calculator could do is make you slip.
I now wish I had a time machine so I could inform my past self that someone would break their wrist while playing with a calculator.
To be fair, I would have never thought someone could break their wrist with a calculator.

I had this happen to me although it was Hades and it was my left thumb. This is why taking breaks during gaming and listening to your body is important.

The emotional high points were beyond amazing, and character development from everyday life, to the crushing fear of losing one's job, only to rise to the occasion at the end was truly heartfelt.

The addition of the last two words brings to light a rather serious tone which helps to ground your story in modern day issues, bringing it full circle. There's a technique called rolling that was recently developed in the NES Tetris community and allows for faster presses and less strain on muscles and joints. It's inspired by drumming techniques
(It's both safer and faster because it uses muscles more efficiently. Every finger of one hand taps on the back of the controller in a rolling motion to bring the button up to the waiting finger of the other hand)

Yes. Pokemon SwSh has a comfort mode setting for playing one handed. I don't know how good it is, but he doesn't have to resort to accessibility devices for people who had limited motion in both hands

When I broke my thumb as a kid, I taught myself how to play more using my index, middle, ring, and pinky fingers on both hands. I can practically hold my controller--at the time, my NINTENDO 64 CONTROLLER--as though it were a keyboard. The only thing that'd throw me off was the Z-button, which is where my other thumb would come into play. Most controllers, now-a-days don't have that rear-button, so I can remove that thumb from the equation. It hurt a little, at first, but it was SO damn satisfying to learn and master. I can still play most games without thumbs, and often find myself trying to do it without thinking.
tendonitis is not the same as a broken hand. coming from someone who ACTUALLY broke my left hand while skateboarding.

Man, I had an awful case of tendonitis in both of my arms caused by playing the violin. I really feel you, that hurts so bad. I had to stop playing, but I hope you get better. Do all the treatments, and have really rest for some months, so you don't end with sequels like I did.
Don't try to play games while healing!!! Take it easy, and rest It's extremely important to keep yourself from really having a permanent injury or problem which will really prevent you or entirely stop you from playing video games with your hands.
Speaking from experience as a Software Engineer and gamer, please look into preventive care for your hands like stretches, exercise and rest!

True. I got tendinitis in my wrists from videogames and piano, and I’ve been dealing with it for 6 months. Physical therapy is extremely helpful, and depending on the injury, completely cutting out videogames might even make it worse. RSIs are often super persistent and complex.

Feel we’re finished season 1 where we ended on a cliffhanger of “pointcrow can’t play games cause his hand is fucked…” but now, we’re moving into pointcrow season 2: change in content where we need to get through gaming for the foreseeable without using his hand. And finale will be when it’s healed

I had sprained my wrist playing tether ball. I hit the ball so many times with such force that the repeated contact sprained it. I now have cracking in my wrist since then too 🤣
