I read where several drivers can preset thier own settings and use the different color codes for their personal setting's. What I don't read anywhere is can use use plug this controller into different vehicles. Yes I know the wiring would be different say using a Ford F-150 and a Dodge Gran Caravan. Can an adapter wiring plug-in harness be used to adapt on one Controller like the P-3?
This brake controller will work for every passenger vehicle that needs an electric brake controller. @@davidblue435 I was not insisting I wanted that feature , it was a question? It took about 15 mins before it actually turned off that . I was searching for answers at that moment didn’t understand why it wasn’t turning off !
@@alvarorodriguez7068 That is just the setting for the device. After 15 minutes on non use it shuts itself off. I have had my P3 on my truck for about 5 years now and it works great.
Is the P3 suppose to be in a horizontal position (with the display facing the opposite direction of travel)? My vehicle does not have a convenient place to mount the P3 horizontally. How close to horizontal does the P3 have to be?
This unit is designed to go into power saving mode (sleep mode) after 15 minutes of no vehicle movement or no brake power detection. If your unit does not go into a blank screen after 15 minutes of no movement or stepping on the brake, press the bottom right button and arrow down to and select the "Help" option. Next arrow down to and select the "Troubleshoot" option. Here you will see the battery voltage, stoplight voltage output voltage and output current voltage. The stoplight, output and output current should be reading zeros, if not, the next step would be to select the "Contact us" option right below the "Troubleshoot" option.
This controller always fail internally ...so buy something better or cheap ...because u will pay a lot of money for this control and tekonsha and horizon global ( warranty company ) doesn't stand for their lifetime warranty ...this controller is overpriced to be a piece of 💩

Does the trailer brake controller stay on ?? Even when vehicle is off ?

Yes kills battery especially cold temperatures
