    I hope all of you are able to gain some insight from this and perhaps it will light a fire under you to pursue a dream of your own. www.predatorqu...

    Les, this is the best, most genuine, and honest advice on this subject that I have ever seen. I am teetering on the edge right now with "should I go for this or should I not", and wrestling with the concept of making my passion my living. There are so many things to consider!
    At SHOT Show 2016, in Gilleys, you introduced me to Rob, from Deer Meat For Dinner, and you guys inspired me that I could share my passion without having to go to network TV, and it could be done right here on youtube. I am still weighing the time commitment and financial aspects of pursuing this full-time, and honest advice like what you just gave is invaluable. Thanks Bud.

    I'm a newby. Just started 2 years ago. Not a lot of women do this, but it is soooo exciting. My bf has done it for years. I wanted to learn more about it so I started to study. Les, you are such a great teacher. I learn so much from you. Thank you! Just wanted you to know.

    Hey Les,
    Been watching you on TV for years. Just recently noticed all the youtube material you are putting out for all of us to enjoy. Without a doubt you are the master. Can't even imagine the amount of work involved producing this material in order the we out here can see how it's done. Keep up the great work. You just need to up your game and come out to Idaho and help out with the friggin WOLVES!!! I'm sure many of the tactics are similar. Anyway, they are eating all our deer and elk and we need help. Think that one over, if you haven't already and give it a whirl. Love to see some of those buggers hit the dirt. Thanks again for all the hard work.

    This is without a doubt the BEST explanation of what you've done, how your progressed to where you're at ....how you accomplished the success you've had and are having. But YOU have a unique feature that SO FEW hunting shows have in their hosts... you are what I refer to as "WALLS DOWN"... you're not showing off, you're just who you are. That's what I truly do love about ya, Les. You are real..! And yes, I nearly failed my speech class because I was so afraid to speak in front of people! But we share far more than THAT... you're my brother. I still wanna be allowed to get some of your time. I've got something you don't have.. I have my wildlife artwork I've done over the years... bears, birds, waterfowl, turkey, elk, and deer. Wanna talk a trade?

    You are a genuine outdoorsman and an excellent teacher. I have hunted since I was about 9, just got into predator hunting about 3 years ago (34 now). I have yet to shoot a coyote, not for lack of trying. I have done 15 sets in the middle of the night at -20 and nothing. Nights and nights new locations, nothing to show for. I felt like it was impossible. I was about to give it up until I saw my first episode of predator quest. You are an inspiration and I will not give up thanks to you. You taught me some game changing tactics, this will be the year. Thank You.

    • @everythingoutdoorswithlesj4975
      @everythingoutdoorswithlesj4975  7 років тому

      Thank you jesse! I commend you for your willingness to not give up! That is what it takes. Once you call your first one, then pay attention to what you did, where you set up, what the wind was doing, etc! Little, by little you will begin to gain more knowledge on how the mind of the coyote works and how you should call, etc.
      Mid to late January was always a good time for me to try and work coyotes because once they are paired up, they would almost always howl right at sundown down on a river about 12 miles from my home. I would always ask locals if the coyotes were howling at sundown, etc. Once they told me "yes" I would drive down there with the intention of making a stand or two once I heard them howl. Like clockwork, once one coyote would howl, coyotes would begin howling up and down the river. I would mentally try to figure out one of the easiest ones to get close to without alerting them and then call with my hand. Most everyone was a shotgun coyote. They were super agressive when you snuck in very close to where they were and then called softly. It ticked them off so they charged right in. Try that if you live in an area where they begin to howl alot at sundown. :) Thanks for watching and have a Merry Christmas! LJ

    I grew up in a family of hunters. I learned at a young age how to trap and fish all kinds of small game and as I grew older I learned how to use a bow and firearm. When I was a teenager a friend introduced me to coyote hunting for bounty money. I'm 49 now and still do the bounty hunting but I just love being outdoors. I have been a fan since your show first came on WildTV and learned a lot of useful tips to improve my success in managing predators with a rifle or shotgun. Keep up the great work and never stop teaching those who love to do this.

    Hey there Les from south saskatchewan, myself and my little guy enjoy your videos- very down to earth which is good to see. I began calling coyotes about 6 years ago- it can be tough, my first year was alot of me seeing the backsides of coyotes as they ran away- it was alot of reading and learning and trial and error. I have been lucky enough to meet a few people who were also good teachers and put the time in to help me learn. Im by no means a pro, but itbhas been a successful year for me, and i in turn try to pay it forward when i can and help someone else learn- it wasnt too long ago tha

As far as Television goes, the networks are "only" interested in good action and keeping it all flowing to keep viewers. Most television viewers want to see action. UA-cam is a platform where people wish to learn. I am going to have action and information for learning as well. Thank you again for watching and commenting! LJ

    Well personally I give a lot of credit to my dad for sparking my interest in predator hunting but when I set out to do it there was a few things ro learn first and one was seting up a stand in fact the first video demonstration was the Ed Sceery video then it was the Randy Anderson back when there was still VHS and had some successes with those particularly with howling and then I bought your DVD when it came out and I learned more of the details of setting up on stands and being patient... my success went up big time just because you explain things with passion so I give you a lot of credit Les I had no idea what it took in the industry for you to produce your vids and shows. I've not produced those kinds of kill numbers but have a few doubles a triples and of course some savvy singles and can confidently say hands down go up over a hill and call in a coyote and know that they're in there. Those two I'm holding in my arms on my profile picture were taken a few years back in South Dakota where I'm from btw and were the first coyotes I've ever tanned and that was one of my goals. I never get tired of your videos. Thanks Les

    I met Les several years ago, mainly the coyote hunting contests like St Francis. I have a website, The New HuntmastersBBS.com, and a fair amount of very knowledgable people hang out there. We sometimes talk about who sorta walks the walk and who doesn't. In my opinion, Les is the real deal and I would know, I've been doing this stuff forever and I can spot a phony a mile away. But, Les is a good guy, knows his shit and I would hunt with him any day, just like Calvin Taylor who posted below, he's another one, knows what he's talking about and still modest. I don't have a negative thing to say about Les. Like he mentioned in the video, some of these guys that are frendly to your face are jealous and say things behind your back. I have never heard a bad thing about Les. He's good at what he does and I wish him success in this new venture. Congradulations, Big Guy!

    One thing I have learned which is probably obvious is that even though I like to have a hunting partner, and often nobody is available to hunt as often as I am, you have to go out there and hunt. You won't be killing any coyotes sitting at home on the computer or watching TV.

    I love watching your videos. I live in Northeast Kansas and have never been successful at calling wish you could join me so I could learn somethings from you. The difference is we have a lot more timber land and most your videos I have seen are open country. Can you give pointers on that aspect. I can go out about any night of the week and hear coyotes at any direction and usually what sounds like within two hundred yards of my house. Would much appropriate your help. I’m no longer a truck driver so I’ll have a lot more time to spend in nature which is where I want to be.

    Tracy Penfield told me you were a good friend. I'm to old to do much hunting ,79 but I miss it very much. Tracy and I had some great times here in Missouri coyote hunting and he was an excellent caller. I was probably a better tracker we worked well together and I didn't have good eyesight and he did. He could spot a coyote a mile off. Just saying.

    hi guy's..i have a question...are its possible of coyote dont out of forest because wheather is upper zero ..no snow now?no answer with my electronis call.i dont see coyote in five try of hunt.

    • @everythingoutdoorswithlesj4975
      @everythingoutdoorswithlesj4975  7 років тому

      Hi Denis, sometimes coyotes will not respond, for whatever reason. I dont base alot on 5 times trying. Different days make a big difference in the outcomes. I never give up. But, if I try 5 stands one day and no coyote comes and investigates, then I may stop for the day and go get office work done. I would also learn to use a hand call as well. I never put all of my eggs in one basket. Hope that helps and thank you for watching. LJ
