Its a good ending for Erwin though, he died a hero. In case people didn’t pick up on the point they were making. Erwin was literally just a curious child who wanted to know the truth so he joined the scouts however people called on him to help and over the years he had to do horrible things to win and make progress and so that curious boy became a heartless devil. Its really sweet that he finally got to rest and didn’t have to keep being a devil (especially given what he’d have to do in the following human on human combats to come) although sad that he never got to find out the truth

He straightly goes for Erwin but when Levi was trying to inject Erwin with titan serum Erwin suddenly move his hand away which means he reject it, Erwin probably was like : "My part is done, i'm enough with this world so don't bring me back"
