I’m from Mexico and in my family we always pray to Guadalupe. I recently found out that my grandma was a devotee to “ánimas de la basura” you pray to the souls in purgatory in order to help you find lost items or lost love. Traditions have been lost and I’m trying to recollect the traditions that I can. I’m currently finding out about saints and looking for saints to work with.
I'm from Brazil, but my greatgreat grandma was italian, and we all know to put Saint Anthony buried in a flower pot upside down when looking for love lol! It's a bit funny but all the women in the family have very loving partners... And I won't even get into Saint Longinous (we call him "são longuinho" in Brazil) and the tree jumps. Promise to hop three times if you find a lost object, and it's potato, you find it every time. My mom has a thing with him so strong, family members call her so she can ask São Longuinho to find things. These traditions are so cool! Loved hearing yours (well, you're in a whole other level! Respect! 😎) so beautifull! Thank you for the video!
Hi there! Thank you so much for your videos. As someone who isn't come from western but interested in working with saints, your videos really help a lot and I'm really grateful for your wisdom!
Ah I appreciate this, I feel better about having a preference for not engaging in formal ways with spirits and saints in a daily fashion - it's ok if they're "resting" from our work together! I like the consulting analogy very much, and of course we can vist together off the job, as it were. Thanks for these ideas to think over.
I have never worked with saints, but frequently I have felt the call of St. Francis of Assisi-to me he is an example of living with humility and compassion. There is no room for hypocrisy or hierarchy in our lives. Perhaps more of guide than a consultant.
Such a helpful video, Mary-Grace. Thank you! I've worked with Saint Michael for years but lately I've felt drawn to working with Saint Anthony. I appreciate all that you share on this channel :) xoxo
I'm actually excited about this---I have this exact deck, and it's been sitting around collecting dust for a decade now. I appreciate more ideas in how to use them.
Voices of Saints? I pick out the cards of saints I typically work with and literally use them like Holy cards. Or, I pick out the card of the saint I want to work with. I will use it as a focal point and then use a second deck to cast and read a message from the saint. I tried working with the deck like an oracle deck when I first got it. It doesn't work for me that way. Thank you for watching and for taking the time to comment. xo
I am so in love with your channel. Watching this video seeing that you’re family is from Campania as well as mine... I wonder if that’s why I feel so connected to you. Thank you thank you thank you for your incredible gifts you share with all of us 💜🧿
Such a great video!! I always see saint candles in stores, but never considered candle magic when working with saints. A lot of food for thought. Thanks so much 👍💖
Thank you, Grace. You're always a joy to listen to, especially on this topic. I'm wondering how (or if) you reconcile working with those "questionable" saints, like Expeditus, who may or may not have existed, yet still provide clear results. I ask because I've been attempting, over this last wacky year, to establish a relationship with the three Protectors of Bisceglie (where my mother's grandparents were all born), the little-known Saints Mauro, Sergio, and Pantaleo. Like Expeditus', their biographies are equally sketchy. Yet, they remain a HUGE deal in Bisceglie; their feast on July 27 is the highlight of the calendar. Now that I think about this "out loud," I guess I'm connecting with the accumulated energy of the centuries of Biscegliesi who prayed to these saints. (P.S. Thanks for showing your "man purse" saint kit again. I was going crazy recently looking for the earlier video where you first showed it, after transferring your collection to it, but I think you might have deleted it.)
Hi Joseph, thank you. :) For me, all that matters is my connection and relationship with the saint (or spirit, if one prefers), and my results from working with them. I pay no attention if the "Church" for whatever reason has labeled them as "questionable". I hope this helps. And yes, I did delete some videos. The videos I deleted were ones I felt were potentially FOMO inducing and may contribute to deck-buying (as opposed to card reading). :) xo
Thank you for sharing, really enjoyed hearing about your saint magic practices! I'm curious, do you work with le madonne nere, and if so, is it in a similar way to the saints?
@@MaryGraceFahrun Hi Rue, I have a follow up question after rewatching your video - just wondering about your thoughts. I've heard you say you don't have to be Catholic to work with the Saints, but is it possible to work with the Saints, while not working with God/Jesus? The saints have some cultural significance in my family being Italian and all, but I'm not Catholic. Just wondering how a Saint who was a devoted christian might feel about a Pagan trying working with them. Likewise, Paters Aves and Glorias used in Saint Magic kind of feel too much like "professions of faith" that I'm not comfortable making after years of religious trauma. On the otherhand, maybe I shouldn't be trying to remove them from their christian context? Maybe I should be looking for other spiritual helpers? I'm conflicted, man!
I work with two. St Michael for protection and prosperity. Some of my recent ancestors were farm labourers, and Michaelmas (his feast day, 29th Sept) used to be the day in my country when labourers were hired for the next year. It's also the end of harvest, so the idea is he is protecting you from hunger and want and making sure you can pay your quarterly rent, one of which also used to fall on his feast day. I find he's great with money, not in a get-rich-quick way, but ask him to help you manage your money and your spending so you can always provide for your rent and your food. I work with St Catherine of Alexandria for career. My industry is famously not well paid yet still competitive. I petitioned her recently for a specific role and got to the 'reserve' candidate out of 800 applicants. Then I realised that just perhaps, although I had wanted that kind of role for a long time, maybe I've sort of grown past it and want to pursue something slightly different, still in my field. What I'm thinking of now is closer aligned to both myself and her own strengths. Sometimes the saints answer in ways we don't expect. She wasn't punished!
I never understood the saint punishment. Maybe they're "no" is in your favour? Why punish someone you're trying to gain from? don't pay in full upfront - half now / half when the jobs done?
Can I ask what your dialect is? Your speech reminds me of the way my family speaks. My grandmother is from Alanno, abruzzo. The rest in my family are from the same region, different towns. I love your videos!
So I bought a little St Joseph and buried him upside down in front of a house I’m trying to sell. That’s St punishing right? Now I’m wondering if I am comfortable with that. What should I do? I plan to burn a candle for St Joseph and am praying a novena. Could you comment on this? Thanks! BTW, this seems to be a common practice and they sell a “kit” on Amazon with the little statue to bury. I know it may not make it right.
Hello and thank you for watching! Yes this is a common practice. The statue of Saint Joseph is buried in the front yard, head down and facing the street until the house sells. This definitely qualifies as "saint punishing". Once the house is sold, Saint Joseph is dug up, cleaned up and set in a place of honor in the new home. If you do not feel comfortable with that, don't do it. In my experience, if I do not feel comfortable doing something, it does not work or, it only half-works (house sells for less than asking price). Lighting a candle and praying a Novena to Saint Joseph is also customary and does indeed work. I hope this helps.
@@MaryGraceFahrun thank you! I do plan to dig him up after the house sells but I think I will leave him there for the time being. I realized that having him buried there reminds me of his presence there and that he is working on it. I’ll think of him as a seed that was planted there and figure he is watching over the place until it sells. Thank you for your quick reply! I love your book! I’m not Italian but I’m seeing more and more that Saint magick spans many cultures. Blessings to you and yours!
You are very welcome! It makes my heart happy that you found something in my book that resonated with you. I really love your reframing of the buried Saint Joseph as a "seed". Thank you for sharing that. Many blessings to you and yours. xo
@@MaryGraceFahrun we just closed escrow on the house today! I would say St. Joseph came through! I did pray a novena to him and had a little chat as well. As soon as the offer came through I dug him up (with the help of St Anthony as I couldn’t quite find him at first. lol) and he has a place on my altar. Thank you, St Joseph! Today I started a novena for St Anthony to help my brother find a new place to live since the house he was living in is the one we sold. 🙏❤️ But no more “punishing”….

I refer to him as questionable because his feast day was "dropped" by the Catholic church calendar BUT, it doesn't mean he is no longer a saint. :)
