Personally I would of put the Hilux a bit higher on the list. I had a 2wd 2000 model Hilux and it was a beast Sold it with 430,000km on it and treated it like crap for the 5 years I owned it but it kept going. The old Landcruisers and Patrols are cool for sure as are the Defenders but I will say the Paj will be my number 1. They are cheap to buy, reliable, capable, new & 2nd hand parts are still readily available. Down side is a lot of manufactures of after market parts don't do things for the Pajero. I would have had the Ford F series trucks on my list too.
haha its all good. i love em too but the prices have gone crazy lately. i think the days of picking up $2.5-$3k 4bs, even a pajero, is well and truly over.

I'm not so land rover happy.... they would rank higher in the top 10. for me benchark 4wds are the 80 series with a 1HDFT motor land cruiser and the 105 series swap out the 1 HZ for a 1HDFTE and your in bussiness although the !HZ motor turboed aren't bad either land cruiser and patrols GQ and GU with the td 42 engines... Gu with a 4.8 petrol aren't too bad but the servo operator will become your best freind...to rate these cars 1,2,3, etc is just nit picking...just my thoughts
