It was! And it was gone in a blink of an eye. When you find the crust getting too dark before you reach optimum internal temperature, this is usually due to using too high a finishing temperature. Slow and steady to the finish line will allow the inside to get up to temp without darkening to quickly. And if you need additional time, you can tent aluminum foil over the top once you near peak crust color. Thanks for commenting!
