The short answer is, it won't affect the engine.. no issues in using old diesel cars...

As per Tata they are not going to upgrade the 2.2 litre Varicor engine in the Hexa to BS6 very soon and they will be updating it in the next year. So we are planning to review it as soon as BS6 engine arrives.

For Highway usage, Figo and Polo will be great for high speed stability and planted ride quality. Maintenance of Figo is competitive to the segment, Polo will be a bit more.

Suggestion.comment on travel experience too, because i have experienced xuv travel experience is very poor,too much of body roll gives discomfort and at times people have puked...not a good car for long travel..perhaps for off road...

My dream car....Xuv500, I used W8 from 2017 to 2023 dec. I sold and decided to buy a new xuv700 but it is not worth it compared to the xuv 500 so i bought the xuu500 2021 model( used vehicle. ) in Feb 2024. Xuv 500 rock performance and excellent outlook. I have been using xuv500 since 2017.... only one concern is very expensive...but worth it....

Hope you are mentioning about the first generation XUV500. It has lots of niggles and Mahindra has sorted majority of the issues and now it's competitive.
As you mentioned Scorpio if maintained well, will have relatively high reliability.

If you are considering a comfortable 7 seater, Innova will be best. It's reliable, it's Comfortable and backed by Toyota's top notch after sale service. But its bit costly.
XUV500 is a perfect 5 seater in real life conditions and the 3rd row will be best for kids and the 3rd row have to be folded if you need luggage space. It's Comfortable, it's Value for money and the 2.2 L engine is a gem of an engine.
