that engine is SO quiet! it's exciting to live in what's shaping up to be a good time for aviation, with both airbus and boeing bringing in sexy new planes and engines on a regular basis!
Thank you for taking us along for the ride. Even quieter than the already very good levels on late A320 sharklet equipped CEOs. Impressive to say the least. 2 👍🏻 up
When running on the ground, it sounds like a classic PW2000 and when spooled up to takeoff power it buzzes like a Trent 800 or Trent 500. I am impressed.
The engine spool up resembles the ones from larger aircraft such as the 777, which is cool. Judging from the video, it also seems to be a lot quieter. Is the difference as noticeable in real life?
+Brian Crawford the blades do exceed Mach 1.0 as any other turbofan. The gear allows the N1 spool to spin 3 times as fast as the fan making the engine more efficient.
Wow!! Thnx for the video and how strange for an A320 to not sound like one Jajaja for a moment I closed my eyes and just heard the engine accelerate and could only think of a 757 engine spool thnx for sharing a lot I had been waiting to see and hear how this beauty sounded and looked like!
+Bijay Sitaula for sure quieter. It makes the same howling whistles and whine as the PW2000 at idle, but once it spools up and you begin to hear the fan, sadly it doesn't would like one.
Awesome power and SUPER SUPER QUIET...!!! I pray to god JetBlue switches there A320 fleet over to these beautiful babies. GREAT JOB AS USUAL AIRBUS...!!!
If i was flying in one of those from where you are sitting. I'd miss the roar of the IAE's. Air New Zealand flies A320E's with the sharklets and same cabin specs as the neos. Just the engines changed.
9:18 the fact that you can hear the autopilot disengage sound in the cabin makes this an very silent aircraft!
I had not noticed! But that high for an AP Disc ? Surprises me!
Pilots often fly manual approaches or even en-route to boost their hand-flying experience
+Deuwdidie! Yes Depending on company rules too but i thought it was sometimes allowed only for the last segments or the approach
+Deuwdidie! Those little three beeps are the autopilot disengage ?
+Erick Delko correct

Tal oh yeah soooo much innovation...
Turbine engines are like assholes, the bigger they are, the quieter their sounds.
thats an insanely funny way of putting it lol
Thank you for taking us along for the ride. Even quieter than the already very good levels on late A320 sharklet equipped CEOs. Impressive to say the least. 2 👍🏻 up
These engines would look great on the A340-200/300 series to replace those tiny CFM56 hairdryers.
Lawl
They could have been direct replacement too.
its cfm to lol
The comparison between the old cfm and the p&w is incredible.
When running on the ground, it sounds like a classic PW2000 and when spooled up to takeoff power it buzzes like a Trent 800 or Trent 500. I am impressed.
I'll actually fly on an A320 neo now cuz that view, the quietness and that wing view oh my god! 😍😍😍
What airline?
+Draylogic Probably Frontier once they get theirs
That engine sound is beautiful
i was desperate for the first neo trip report! thank you so much
Can't wait to fly the NEO series, they look amazing.. Awesome video!
Impressive, most impressive...but I've always loved the A320 it's just become superb.
The A320 has never looked so good, and very quiet. The engines look great. Well done Airbus.
Wow
Just beautiful,amazing engine.
Really nice.
What an AMAZING engine! Thanks for sharing your experience !
is it me or was that the best landing in aviation history?
What makes you think that? That was s routine landing, nothing special!
You have to admit it looks very smooth
beautiful new aircraft and a quiet but powerfull take off. nice job!
Great Flight Video bud, very lucky to be on the first NEO.
The engine spool up resembles the ones from larger aircraft such as the 777, which is cool. Judging from the video, it also seems to be a lot quieter. Is the difference as noticeable in real life?
The buzzsaw sound is much higher pitched though resembling that of the Trent 500 on the A340.
+Brian Crawford There is a buzz saw sound, though much quieter, starting at 6:03
+Gustavo Maciel I hope this model is atleast as quiet as the 737NG
+c0ldw1nd no doubt it is quieter than the 737NG if the older A320ceo is quieter than the 737NG.
+Brian Crawford the blades do exceed Mach 1.0 as any other turbofan. The gear allows the N1 spool to spin 3 times as fast as the fan making the engine more efficient.
Hammer Wingview! Sieht echt super aus!
Beautiful man ;) thanks so much for sharing this beautiful takeoff !!
since Lufthansa received the aircraft I was looking for this, this is really a great looking plane, and a wonderful video!
Danke für diesen neuen "NEO"!
Awesome video mate!
P&W PurePower engines at work. Nice!!!
thx for sharing this! it's awesome!
Engines are so big and quiet 'what the hell', I love engine sounds and the a320's old engines.
But the wings are special though
These new engines are nice and they sound cool, but I'll still take the classic sound of a CFM56-5 or V2500 over these.
Amazing video! Big thumbs up from me!
Wow!! Thnx for the video and how strange for an A320 to not sound like one Jajaja for a moment I closed my eyes and just heard the engine accelerate and could only think of a 757 engine spool thnx for sharing a lot I had been waiting to see and hear how this beauty sounded and looked like!
It sounds very similar to the PW2000 on the 757 at some points during the video.
+Julio Romeresto
Yes it seems similar to PW2000 of 757 but even quiter than that.
+Bijay Sitaula for sure quieter. It makes the same howling whistles and whine as the PW2000 at idle, but once it spools up and you begin to hear the fan, sadly it doesn't would like one.
I always seem to have choppy landings whenever I go through Frankfurt, so to see that super soft landing was amazing!
It's just awesome...this plane really makes much less noise than their similar...
Absolutely awesome Video, thanks mate! those engines are giant, but also verschiedenen silent:(
Perfect video, I love a320neo.
The new engine sound is lovely. Resemblance of those on the 787 and A350.
its so wierd seeing an a320 with engine with such a wide diametre! good vid tho
That's incredible!! It doesn't make any sound
I remember the last time I went in an aircraft it didn't sound nearly as quiet as this. Technology ftw.
Wing view reminds me sight of GE90 on 777
thanks for sharing can't wait to see it in jetblue fleet
Great video!
The A320 with these large engines. I always wonder how many times somebody at Airbus joked "Darling, I shrunk the 777"
that A320 engine does look larger than the standard engine.
Excelent video!
Wonderful! When was this flight?
Great video and aircraft.
Nice Video, did the cabin feel luxurious?
Wow, !!!! those engines sound very quiet, i cant wait to hear them on take off and landing from ground
Nice video brother.
Notice the reverse thrust - I can't hear it! Gee, this is amazing.
Great vid!
Is the PTU sound the same as before?
It's quiet because of the blade design and also the RPM is lower since the larger diameter allows more airflow hence it equals most thrust.
Really awesome, can't wait to fly with a NEO :)
Is the engine quieter or the sound isolation is better than older a320's
+David Christmas Manufacturer says the PW1100G-JM prodces 50% less noise.
Awesome power and SUPER SUPER QUIET...!!! I pray to god JetBlue switches there A320 fleet over to these beautiful babies. GREAT JOB AS USUAL AIRBUS...!!!
very different sounding. quiet
Love the engines this will definately compete with the Boeing 737 MAX series great video quality and your panning was awesome massive like
I like loud engines
Great Video! :)
Beautiful engine...
I travelled twice with airbus A320 in 2000 and 2001 when I came to England the airbus A320 very silent trip no headache at all
Awestruck! Big Like :D
Now what I expected lol, I expected a RRRRRRRR xD but these engines are beautiful!
Just after 6:00 you can hear a muffled "RRRRRRR" if you have good headphones.
yeah i heard that, this is a very efficient engine but it's sound sucks compared to say an IAE V2500 or RB211 which is why I don't really like it
Fantastic Flightreport! :-)
Which cam did you use!
For the first time, I just heard that the engines sound WAAAAYYY different than the CFM56 and IAE V2500.
Nice Video! Can you please tell me which music u have used in the background?
wow its beautiful!! although the engines are too big for this kind of aircraft, but anyways I LOVE IT!
amazing !
very nice
Was that a single engine taxi at the end?
If i was flying in one of those from where you are sitting. I'd miss the roar of the IAE's. Air New Zealand flies A320E's with the sharklets and same cabin specs as the neos. Just the engines changed.
The pilot landed very nicely i will give ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ to pilot
why did they shut the nom 2 engine off instead of nom 1 during taxi in?
super quiet engines
Team GE/Safran
-AirAsia
-Pegasus Airlines
-Frontier
-AZUL
-Avianca
Team PW
-Lufthansa
-Spirit Airlines
-Indigo
-Latam
-Viva Aerobus
-Qatar Airways
Is this that geared engine ??
Nach 9:20 hört man wie er den Autopilot ausschaltet.... geil ;).
At 9:20 you can hear that the pilot disconnecting the autopilot, thats funny ;)
on the end was he taxiing with 1 engine??
Please guys, what type of engines are they using? Prat GE? CF or equivalent?
thanks,
jb
PW1100 I think..
which is the soundtrack at the video beginning please..
Autopilot off in 9:19, very quiet engine :)
12:30 single engine operation while taxiing? / nur ein triebwerk beim rollen?
looks like it flies faster with those engines!
Still waiting for a Long-Range A320-321
What airport was that at the beginning
Hamburg
pilot : I am sorry guys I forgot the engine on silent mode XD
PW1o00g turbofan engines. Nice!
The most beautiful single aisle! Much more beautiful than the ugly 777
Why are engines shot down before they came to the gate
it almost sounds like a 777
it is pratt & whitney or cfm ?
That's the Pratt & Whitney
Engines seems so big for fuselage.
Nice to see the neo. But what is the difference between neo and ceo
+Tim Miles (Airplanejunkie) thanks so much. Learn something every day.
Lufthansa are already reporting that the neo is 17% more fuel efficient than its ceo counterparts. Expect that to increase to 20% by 2020.
anybody know the introduction song?
Will there be a A321NEO?
+mio Trolson yes
Yes coming soon. And A319
+Heidi Reilly and an a318?
Tat engine sound so quiet as f*ck
this is busines class so much more silence then econemy
the two CMF leap engines are so quiet
+Philip Meredith have you been on the 737max?
That thing is quiet!
