Interesting. At my flight school we go to power off on downwind for literally every landing, so always practising energy management. Of course power is always there if we need to adjust but the idea is glide all the way in from downwind every time.
Like a boss. If you're able and willing, I'd love to see one of these on Go Arounds! (planning for it and considering options, carb heat with power, when to retract flaps, etc)
He always sits in the right seat. I would imagine it is because he is an instructor and is used to and wants to remain used to controlling the airplane from that side.
But.. 03:27 too slow and too high, then using 2 hands on final like if that was a C46 WW2 cargo plane with no hydraulics. Im a former trainer of CFI's.. i suggest you correct those errors. CFI candidates are supposed not to do student pilot errors. They will fail you if you do those..

Ive started commercial training and I like the power off 180. Thanks for your video! Simple and short, well done. 🤙
Great video, and what an awesome location! I am going there for my SES soon.
Best 180 video I've seen so far.
Nice
Use of slip to make it a great precision landing like in the real world

Excellent job! You've done this before! LOL
What airport was this at? I think I heard Homer, is that PAHO?
Yes
Why do you always sit on the left, Chris?
Steven Jarman I’m assuming you mean right. And I sit there because the instructor sits there (me).

Sorry, yes. I did mean right. Thanks for the prompt reply.
Just make a video on power off 180, it’s no mean perfect, just trying to help those in their aviation journey

, 🤣 you stalled
For the commercial checkride
You not allowed to slip, side slip or forward slip or any kind
O'BEN yes you are I did in mine
Where did you get your information from lol.. Clearly not any FAA publication
Yeah, that's not true....
Nothing in the ACS says that you cannot.
You are able to, you actually have to demonstrate a slip according to the CPL ACS, and you are also allowed to go around, as always(:
