this is probably the best secret movie in any video game. before youtube existed, you'd have to beat the game with those certain requirements to see it. it was so captivating. to see this dark, serious, and thrilling trailer just after beating a happy, colorful, and goofy game was so amazing. it raised (what felt like) millions of questions. it was the ultimate teaser for things to come.
Yep. Same thing with the secret ending of kingdom hearts 2 (now known as birth by sleep)

And then you play the game and experience "Swim this Way".
Its been years since KH first gave light to gaming world, but this endings are still captivating, emotional and thrilling, theres no voice no dialogue but you can feel the emotions gived out by the scenes themselves, I have high hopes for KH3 if they make it like this, its a masterpiece

HOLY KEYBLADE THIS IS AMAZING!!! Roxas and Riku look so real!!! I also like Kairi's look in this, and I love the fact that they hint about the heartless and show lines from KH2. Also it may just be me but at 0:56 if you listen real closely the wind sounds like it's whispering Where's Sora? Does anyone else hear it!?

In hindsight, this secret ending is pretty melodramatic. Riku's hunting Roxas to get his friend back so he smiles and poses in the rain on top of a building? Okay.

Another Side, Another Story, Birth By Sleep, and Final Fantasy XV Dengaki trailer were all my favorites short trailers/secret ending growing up. Even now I find them inspirational to watch as a writer and lover of film.
Roxas is so badass dude. The way he wields two keyblades with such grace is captivating

Its just my theory but in KH DDD Xehanort was able to divide himself up just to jump from different worlds like he did with Ansem, Xemnas, ect., that might have been his 1st form before he started doing that. If you remember in BBS he was on Destiny Island he was there in that young form, probably after he absorb Terra. Thats where Ven's heart awoke after being split from Venitas. He's been lingering around Destiny island since part 1 "mystery hood guy"

And to think how badass it would have been if they would've just developed chain of memories and 358/2 days on console keeping the same battling system as 1 and 2. I swear if they would have just done that, the series would be a lot more popular than it already is.
(And yes I know they have chain of memories on console, but it fucking sucks with the card system IMO)

I agree that if the rest of the series was like 1 and 2 in terms of gameplay, the series would be more enjoyable overall.
But i dont think that Re:Com sucked, it required a little bit of strategy that people werent accustomed to
ventusvanitas11 You essentially replay KH1 for the majority of the game while the major boss fights and storyline comes from the castle. They should have put KH's trademark gameplay when they remade chain of memories. Combining a 3D 3rd person RPG and strategy cards is just not good, in my humble opinion.
God I wish Kingdom Hearts was really this dark, it would make my life complete...

Apparently in Kingdom Hearts Sora will be more "mature", whatever that means, so maybe the tone will shift a bit? Disney itself has changed over the years so who knows?
It is Kairi. The thing to bear in mind is that secret endings/teaser trailers for Kingdom Hearts games are pretty much always concept videos. So even though obviously Kairi's design didn't go that direction when they made KH2, that scene was in fact referring to KH2's ending when Sora and Riku returned to Destiny Islands.

Well this was when Kingdom Hearts 2 was still in development, so probably KH2..Some of the features are there like the long hair she has.
Why isn't the new KH3 trailers more like this. Vague and mysterious. I feel like we'll already have experienced 20% of KH3 when it comes out simply from trailers. When we watched this originally we got nothing but questions. No spoilers because everything was so vague, and if we got spoilers is was only because we over analyzed it and came up with qualified guesses. Now I feel like I can't even browse facebook without being spoiled about returning characters and people who have fallen to darkness

It is from remix, Square went out of there way to remaster EVERYTHING including the secret endings. Trust me if this was from the PS2 original KH Final Mix it wouldn't look this good.

Yeah, that's what I think too, but this is Tetsuya Nomura we're talking about here. He's the one who even still is keeping us guessing, so we can't really be sure until KH3 comes out, hopefully next year.

Well you're mostly right, what they said was that every playstation game ever would be playable on PS4, but you'd have to purchase and download them through that Gakai Cloud thing they were talking about (like buying/downloading songs on iTunes). It's not backwards compatible by any means though.

You do know that the KH1 featured in ReMix is the Final Mix version right? And any KH fan knows that when you beat Final Mix on Proud mode they show both "Another Side" and "Deep Dive" endings, so no I'm not wrong and I have the Japanese import of the game. Get the game for yourself and then come and talk or just wait for the English release and try it for yourself -_-
This CG scene would be awesome in KH2 instead of that in game look thing. Roxas just throw his oblivion to Riku at nothing.

I was just coming up with that assumption because I had never seen what the actual version of young Xehonort looks like...and that maybe that was the Terranort version at 1st but we didn't know it and Square intended it to be that we so that after we saw what happens to Terra we can go back and draw that conclusion that it was Terranort...but it may well could be Xehanort when he was younger because if you noticed after he absorbs Terra he has Terra's voice as well but at the beginning of BBS...
God. This takes me back to 2003-2004 era before the invention of youtube existed. Speculative websites such as AnsemReport trying to make sense of these videos and the 13 points, Calling Roxas the Dual Weilding Unknown and BHK (Blonde Haired kid) when Orginization 13 was called the 13th order, Riku the Blinfolded Unknown (we didn't know if it acutally riku) Xemnas (the secret boss in final mix of kh1) the enigmatic Man. I feel so old.
And there's that door on Destiny Island that connects to other worlds as well, its probably the smallest world in the KH universe but there has to be something there of significance if he keeps going back there and also if you notice in all the games thus far we always see the main cast on Destiny Island. Thats just my guess though.
I remember fixating on the unlock requirements for KH1 back then since I started it in standard and had to do so much more stuff because of it. Was so hyped once I got the trailer. Then to not long after find out Japan got a Final Mix version and to be jealous and go crazy off any footage of it I could see, especially their Deep Dive trailer being way better than the original one and of course the Cloud and Sephiroth scene. Then the same thing happened in KH2 (except I played that on Proud). The memories.
He doesn't have that many memories of his past life actually. he acts on the same instincts though, trying to use Kingdom hearts to reshape the worlds as he saw fit.

Cont...when he says "this world is just too small" he has a totally different voice (David Gallagher 'uncredited') so that might just be him when he was in his youths. But I still think its after he absorbs Terra because if you look at the scene you will notice the hair patterns are the same as Terra's hair pattern because the hair makes a spike point at the top. Btw I wasn't trying to come off like a smartallec when I ask you to present your theory, I just love hearing other opinions ^_^
Yes. You missed out Roxas' time in the Organization, events that took place a decade before KH1 which elaborated on Keyblades and Xehanort, and the events that have led to Mickey writing the letter to Spra at the end of KH2. Not to mention the precursor for KH3 as well...
That's basically Kairi or a post developed version of her showing how she would look when she got a little older.

It is for the PS3 and has already been released almost a week ago now. The PS4 should play all PS1, PS2 and PS3 game discs though so either way you will be able to play it them as well as hopefully Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD ReMIX next year if the rumors are true and then Kingdom Hearts 3 in 2015.
KH3: sora goes to darkness->sora saves Aqua->Aqua saves Ventus-> Terra comes back-> epic battle against Xemnas, Ansem, Xehanort and Young Xehanort-> Simple and Clean Ending version

He isn't slowly forgetting her, once Xion disappeared and faded away, he forgot her but still had memories of her, which is why in KH3D when Sora runs into Xion in the World That Never Was, he started crying, that is Roxas crying inside of him because he had forgotten about Xion and he then remembered. Also Riku happens to be in Roxas' way because he needs Roxas in order to get Sora back. He then proceeds to put Roxas in Twilight Town. Thus starting KH2. I agree with you on all the rest though.
Seeing this now makes me confused on why they didnt use this cutscene for KH 358/2 days since that is what this is from. Sooooo epic and it is also my favorite scene in 358/2 days.
This cutscene had inaccuracies (Like Roxas still having a kingdom key after throwing at Riku and Kairi's symbolic appearances on the screens) and the game was meant to clarify stuff about Roxas and this scene. They had to be much more explicit and less mysterious.
Also 358/2 was on the DS, I don't think it could have handled this cutscene, at least not in a quality that would do it justice
The only way Xemnas was referring to Ventus is that he found the Chamber of Repose, where Ven's body is. And, as we know, in 358/2 days no one member ever found it.
If feel like if I saw this as a kid I would have definitely shit myself. Especially 1:20 with Kairi on the beach of all scenes, since the darker colour saturation in that CGI makes the whole thing just feel so creepy and cinematic, compared to KH2’s more bright CGI style.

No he's talking about Sora, in Kingdom Hearts 1 Final Mix Sora does battle with Xemnas right after he reverts from his heartless form. Xemnas is wearing the hood over his head but you can tell its him because he uses the light saber blades. There's no way he can get in contact with Ventus because he's hidden deep within Castle Oblivion and if anyone who goes in memories pretty much get screwed.

They have the same face just different hair and every organization 13 member bares the name of their original self but it's spelled backwards or jumbled up, for example "Sora = Roxas" or "Ansem = Xemnas"

In Kingdom Hearts, after Roxas is created when Sora becomes a Heartless, he ends up where Xemnas comes to meet him. Just a little after Sora is turned back from a Heartless, in Final Mix, he faces a Mysterious Man in a black coat, who uses red saber type weapons and has a style similar to Xemnas from Kingdom Hearts 2. That man is Xemnas, come to test Sora's strength. You should watch the fight, as some of his comments, in hind sight, also prove this.
When he said "I've been to see him." he was referring to when he fought sora in the secret boss fight in Kh1 final mix. That scene takes place almost immediately after that fight. So no, he wasn't talking about Ventus. It makes more sense that he was referring to sora. roxas and ventus look exactly alike. roxas and sora just look alike.
anyone notice when roxas threw his oblivion keyblade to riku, he was still dual wielding with both oathkeeper and kingdom key, giving off the hint he and sora are connected

As much as I'd like Terra to be one of the 7 lights it's pretty obvious he won't. What would be cool though is if Terra's Lingering Will would come to aid Sora and Co in the final battle.
What I think will happen: Sora goes to CO > Sora fights Ventus (Because he looks like Vanitas and all that) > Sora saves Ventus > Mikey goes to RoD > Mickey Saves Aqua > Riku fights Terranort > Terranort is still a wanker > 13 VS 7 > They all live happily ever after > Sora finally has his fucking dinner.

you should play all. Every single game is important to the whole story. You would miss an important character if you wouldn't play days for example. (And no matter what those others say, Days is one of my favourite games because the story is way more touching)

Id have to suggest checking out dream drop distance. In the secret ending, it shows that beach scene again, but this time showing his face. It's clearly young xehanort and he was complaining that the wold he lives in is too small etc. it's cool that you have your own theories and all, I just wanted to let you know that alot of the questions you have may have been answered already.
Wait... at 1:20, who exactly is that? I mean, for a long time, I think most people have made the assumption that it's Kairi seeing Sora and Riku return home (end of KH2), but... the clothes say otherwise, and it's only a single comet. It could also be when she's talking to Roxas in KH2's beginning, but given what we now know, the two people in that scene could be entirely different people! Perhaps the one in the comet is... Xehanort from the past?

Dream Drop Distance serves as a mini-sequel to KH2 since Yinsid trains Sora and Riku to hone their skills as keyblade masters and we get a better backstory on the Organization XIII and the whereabouts of the real Xehonart but most of the game is sort of fillerish
No, it's actually Xemnas. It happens shortly after Xemnas fights Sora in Hollow Bastion in KH FM.
Actually, I think Roxas appeared in Twilight Town in front of the Mansion when he was created, before he and Xemnas met on the beach. The Mansion's where they met for the first time and Xemnas gave him his name.
They should just make a movie of Kingdom Hearts, like what they did for the Final Fantasy franchise. With this level of high quality graphics.

God, I still remember as a kid thinking "holy crap this looks amazing I hope some day games will look this good". KH3 has better graphics than this FMV now, which younger me would have been so amazed by.
It also wasn't until this viewing that I noticed that after Roxas throws Oblivion to Riku he then has the Kingdom Key in that hand instead.

kingdom hearts 1 is so much harder then KH2
as in final mix, or the normal? FM1 is harder, yes, though FM2's optional bosses is way harder, thus the challenge given is optional as well, making it a better game (imo). That saying though, i blazed through KH1FM on the hardest difficulty in less than 15 hours first try (i overplayed the normal one on PS2 though, and completed every KH 100% so far, except DDD)

I noticed that it is the Kingdom Key D.... the handle is silver and the blade is gold...
Yeah, the developers said that he had dual wield Sora's and Ventus's, and that He can then wield Xion's after throwing Oblivion to Riku... so Sora essentially has three keyblades, and when Ventus awakens and takes his back, he'll have two, which I'm pretty sure is just an excuse to let Sora dual wield in KHIII.

It looks like they were searching for Sora, rather than Sora looking for them. "What took you so long Kairi?" they found him in that strange world he had been in. Almost all of the lines are Kairi's. So maybe it was supposed to build her character? also, Thirteenth order, Riku was trying to find out what they were fighting, who/what they were, and how to stop them
Kataclysmic riku is fighting roxas because sora is still sleep and needs his memories so if roxas won sora wouldn't be awake
