  • The Boston Gaelic Fire Brigade performs Amazing Grace on 1-7-08 at the funeral of our beloved member, Billy McCarthy (Boston Fire). Watch until the end of the video and you will see one of our pipers walking off in the distance at the cemetery playing the conclusion of Amazing Grace. Billy, we will miss you!

    my grandfather was a firefighter but he was more. he was a father to me and he was my hero so when i hear this tune i get a lump in my thoat

    WOW..that was truly powerful. I live just outside of Boston on the North Shore, and see almost everyday the Peabody FD Engine 4 screaming down my street. I always wish them well and pray for their safe return from every call. And for those that don't return, RIP.

    God Bless all Firemen . Very few people would go into a burning building to save some one while risking their own lives to do so . God Bless Billy McCarthy my he rest in peace with the lord .

    I'm also a Firefighter of 22.5 years and a former piper. I admire the dedication the eastern bands have over so many in the west. I also like how the lone piper played the final verse and walked away from the ceremony, very nice touch!

    whoa....this song shook me up (tearfully and scaringly) i was reading comments, and when the drummers started tapping , i thot it was machines gun i was like WTF! no way someone popped them!
    these guys r pretty hardcore to play in freezing weather

    Please thank your Da for me, ForBoston523. Even though the band sounded challenged, the spirit was there, and in the end, that is what matters most. As long as the love warms through, even sour notes can be the most endearing.
