We can use single triceps rope for rowing where we can easily extend back to our elbow

Whenever I do this exercise, I can really feel it in my lats on the right side. But on my left, I feel like my arm (triceps) is doing most of the work. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong, because I thought that my form was the same on both sides, but it just "feels" different on each side.

Try it on a lower weight! This is where you build “the neurochemical bond with your muscle”. The coordination is called Mind muscle connection. Let me know if you need any further help

Might be better muscle mind connection on one side

Maybe you're leaning, tilting or rotating your upper Body differently on each side. Try your "weaker" side with a lower weight and try adjusting your upper body during the exercise till you feel a difference in movement and lat activation

When I do single arm cable row my scapula moves all over the place. I try to keep it close to my rib cage but I dont have enough control over it. I have better control if i do inclined single arm dumbbell rows.

      Lattismus dorsi(lats)

Doing a row like this will train your whole back, except for the upper trapezius. This execution does however target the lats a bit more than the mid back.

why not just put the pulley at a higher position? Then he won't need to kneel or bend over and the lat will be taken through a greater range of motion.

Thats because the trainer isnt teaching a biomechanically correct exercise...he is parroting what other trainers are doing. Check out Doug Brignole.

If he don’t kneel he can’t stretch it .

A fully stretched muscle is a weak muscle and placed in a position of potential injury. When fully stretched, the muscle is weakend, not stronger. You cant expect a weak muscle to pull a weight that is fully loaded 1/2 thru the movement. It violates biomechanics and physics. Also, look at how the fibers are arranged in the back. The lats are secondary to the row, but the big load inls on the posterior delts.

Even a broken clock is right more than you were in this comment. Hope you have learned a bit in the past year.

I started doing this movement 2 weeks now, I do a big stretch but a little higher, kind of the height of the chest and a I feel a lot of my deltoid, and mid back. Must be doing something different!
