Got no idea what he is doing, but as a once owner of a Hiwatt (Custom 50) amp in the 70s, I find this brilliant to watch (especially with a cold beer!). Great editing/footage, I would love to have one of those Custom 20 Watt heads.
Hi GBE, could you give us some info on the red/blue/yellow/green cloth wires you use on this build and where we can buy them ? By the way, really nice video, GG.
Hey Joe, great video. I recently bought a Custom 100 Kit from Mojotone, and I noticed the wire Ihe kit came with is significantly thiner than the one you are using in your high voltage connections (between pots, pre-amp circuit board, big capacitors and power tube sockets). I wanted to ask you what are the specs of the wire you used in this build. (i.e. caliber, insulation, etc.) It looks like cloth insulated? if that is the case, is that better than plastic insulation? Thanks.
The wire I used for most of this build is the new production faux cloth wire, its 20AWG solid core. This is the stuff: tubedepot.com/products/20-ga-solid-cloth-wire-600-volt-rating Even 22AWG wire would be sufficient, so I'm sure you'll be fine. Enjoy the build!

That is some of the best lead dress I have seen in a long time. Excellent work.
It's a joy to see you work. Few know that being meticulous doesn't take all that much more time.
Haha I get to edit all my mistakes out :)
That looks like beautiful work. Too bad you didn’t risk hearing loss and an eviction notice to crank it up.
Killer work! been wanting to build one, now i have too!
crazy to think that back in the day all comercial amplifiers were made like that, seems le a hellalot work
Rewarding work for sure, nothing wrong with PCBs though.
Great stuff Joe, very inspirational. Thanks
Thank you!

Thanks, and sure. I believe that is the 20ga solid core cloth wire from tube depot: tubedepot.com/t/diy-central/wire-and-cable
