I was the person who recommended this fantastic story to you. It was at Monster Mania Con last October. I’m very glad that you took the time to read this, you read it quite well. Also, thank you for the mention! Also, your quite right about my name, it is unusual…and it has both a b and an r in it. Haha!
Thank YOU for this wonderful read, Mr. Bradley! What great classics. I've recently watched a screen version of this story, a movie released not so long ago, maybe, in 2021 or 2022, and I quite liked the film as well.
I absolutely love this story! It is very commonly taught in American colleges in their Intro to Literature classes. Dr. Silas Weir Mitchell was a very strange man, a very respected doctor who treated people like Charlotte Perkins Gilman but also Owen Wister and Theodore Roosevelt, and a writer himself. Weir Mitchell wrote novels, short stories, and poetry.
it's an honor to hear you reciting such marvelous things, please take the time and space you need to ingest these tales, youre the best!!!! obviously in a way that helps others live a free and unemcumbered life
Thank you, it was a revelatory experience to reread this story with the biographical context you shared and while listening to your narration-especially when I followed it up with reading Kate Chopin's "The Story of an Hour."
I confess I’ve heard of this story but I’ve never actually read it, so I suppose this isn’t a bad way to introduce myself to it. Merry Christmas to you Doug and a Happy New Year!

The fact this channel doesn’t have at least 16 million subscribers is the real crime here
Thank you Doug. You have a beautiful voice and cadence.

Great to see you back Doug. Many thanks for the video. Have a very Merry Christmas!
Had a huge book as a kid. A collection of old short stories. Mainly horror. The one that always sticks in my mind, is this one.
Thankyou ☺️

I love this book. My sister gave me her copy. A very compelling story. Thank you for reading it to us Doug.
You bring these stories to life. Thank you so much!
I remember reading this as a kid. I guess you could say it was first exposure to what essentially was a psychological horror story.
Your readings are fantastic, I've been enjoying them all very much.
Thank you so much, as always, for doing these for us fans.
Loved it....!
Oooh I love the new set up Mr.Bradley!
If I could make a request, I would love for you to read a short story by Clive Barker
