There is a funny saying about Russian and Finnish bureaucracy. It goes something like this in English. In Russia nothing works but anything can be arranged. In Finland everything works but nothing can be arranged.
Celebrating Lucia and eating skagenröra, you are encoutering the Swedish side for sure! Looking forward to hearing how your Swedish is at some point; man är nyfiken!
Finnish bureacracy is absolutely strict, everything is done by the book, the letter of the law is the sacrament. It has its good sides too, no bribery, no loopholes, it's the same for everybody. But nothing is volunteered: you are not hugely helped and have to find your rights and benefits yourself. Kela is the most frustrating agency imaginable...
Congratulations on your first salary! I'm so happy for you! And yes, it is important to have fun at school. My kids go to school and there their motto is "Minkä ilotta oppii, sen surutta unohtaa." That which is learnt without joy will be forgotten without grief."
I am so happy I did listen to you. We have some common professional and private interests, like school job, skagenröra and dark beer (not beer if fingers behind the glass with beer are visible). I'll stay with you as a subscriber just out of interest to learn about schools in Russia and Finland. Hope for some comparisons, can maybe comment about Swedish schools 🇸🇪🇫🇮
Ah, Halloween to Christmas to Easter... hey hey hey I really hope you and the kids didn't skip Friend Day! When I was a kid that was a big thing in school! You were far away from a lake in central Finland? That's a magicians trick to pull. =D Product advertisements: if you enjoy pale ale, try out Mustan Virran panimon Olaf pale ale, the one in the short bottle with knights in the label. Very good craft beer. Visit Olavinlinna when spring progresses, that'd make a really cool vid of course. And for you brains, Bioteekin Super B12, the kind that dissolves in your mouth. From Life, in Kamppi for example.
Yes, I totally forgot Friends' day! We celebrated it of course :) Awesome, thank you for the recommendations! I guess now I gotta take the vitamin and flush it with ale😄
@@AlenaTalks I am not a big fan on luumukeitto. 🙂 Not of kiisseli either, but somehow it feels Christmas, when you get riisipuuro and luumukiisseli during the Xmas period. Otherwise I will just take mämmi with vaniljakastike or -jäätelö. 🙂
Awesome to hear that you've got this far and had new positive experiences! That has required some "Sisu" I believe. Is there an equal word in Russian? If there is, you got that too 😉

Great to have you here! Yes, of course, there are many positive things in Russia to be appreciated, especially Russian classics and nature in the places that are still unspoiled😊
You sounded rightfully proud of having learned some frugality.. And then you started listing shrimp toast, Skagen toast, and other "essentials" to be bought from your first salary😮 How about trying to aquire some more simple and cheaper tastes. For a while anyhow. Or is it too late for you.
Being frugal isn’t a good thing in my world view. People should be able to treat themselves from time to time. Especially after 10 months of spaghetti/potato diet.
