Tascam M3700 User Guide Part 2 | Automation Computer

So this is a follow on from Part 1 where we walked through all the buttons and switches on the Tascam M3700 mixing console. In this video we will be explaining and demonstrating how the use the Automation computer when mixing. Many consoles have built in automation and this is no exception. However the faders are not motorised, this saved space and reduced the cost of the Tascam M3700 but still had the functionality of its competitors like Neve and SSL consoles. This mixing desk uses VCA automation, that means it is voltage controlled. This can increase the noise floor a little but so it is fitted with a bypass switch on every channel so that you only introduce a minimal amount of noise while automating your mix.

Appreciate a very easy to understand explanation of automation on the 3700. It looks very simple but effective way that I’m sure works good.
I do think that simple and straight forward technology can work much better than complicated stuff.
