Thanks for the video really appreciate it! We love Ground Branch and their dev team as well. Cant wait for you to try out Operation Meghna releasing soon this month :)
I’ve got both as well and the only “choice” I make is who has players online at the time. They’re both excellent and it’s like choosing whether you drive your Ferrari or Porsche. They’re both awesome so whichever has gas is the one we’ll do.
@ISI why zero hour is a cool CQB game and warzone is another shitty battle royale game. you cant really compare games of diffrent genres it just dosent work.
Another thing to consider is whether or not you prefer to play as the role of a policeman (Zero Hour), or a soldier (Ground Branch), both of which dictate their respective rules of engagement and equipment.
Ground Branch's lead developer used to work for Red Storm Entertainment (Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon) before it was shut down. That probably explains why Ground Branch's levels feel larger than Zero Hour as they're trying to bring back that tactical shooter feel. Also, Ground Branch has been in development for almost an entire decade (even with a failed Kickstarter campaign) so it's a miracle there's a playable version at all.
Yah, I'm really hoping they pull through. Hopefully we see more from them in the future, especially now that they've partnered with a publisher. Fingers Crossed!

Also in August update gonna bring huge update dev is trying best to slow down the pvp gameplay they succeeded in OBD update game got slower a lot than previous version still it need long term for proper immersion. For ground branch i think its best game for experience of pure realistic shooting pvp
If ground branch has the same weapon customization than tarkov, more variety missions, like zero hour ( hostages rescue, bomb dissasembly, and probably and inside economy sistem) It will be the Game

i liked the sound comparison ... option 1: in the middle of a city option 2: in a partially open residential area option 3: should probably have similar environments to actually compare sounds.. just saying.. if the games have realistic sounds they probably also compensate for the environment the shooter is in, like indoors/outdoors, or surrounded by buildings vs open tree areas you know..it's the little things that make the difference..
Thanks for the tip! I never thought of that, but you're totally right, the environments don't really match up too well. I'll be sure to keep that in mind next time I do a sound comparison!
I have a feeling Ground Branch will be the better game towards release as the AI is polished and the game has a full campaign, but at the moment Zero Hour has a lot more to offer.
Zero Hour is a little more of an in-between game. It is trying to feel authentic and be a game that focuses on using tactics, but it's not as focused on realism as Ground Branch is. Ground Branches sounds are definitely more realistic. Both suppressed and unsuppressed. Guns are freakin' loud. Suppressed guns... are still freakin' loud. Something Ground Branch shows really well. I have a video on my channel of a gun with and without a suppressor so you'll see it's not anywhere near as quiet as movies and video games have lead us to believe. But I agree with you that the AI leaves a lot to be desired, and that's the main thing I harp on them about on their discord. Their development team is small, but they did just recently get a publisher and more resources to help them out, so hopefully that will be improved soon. They are releasing a big update soon, no AI improvements in this one unfortunately, but new animations, sounds, and other goodies.
@@josiahdublin7816 Its quite the opposite. Less people + Same quality content as Zero Hour = More effort. A 7 dev team is making a game equal to a 30 dev team's game. You cannot say that is some truly amazing shit.
just stumbled on this video as zero hour 1.0 update is due for release on august 15th (10 days) which will take the game out of early access. the update will have fixes such as more detailed and realistic weapon sounds, animation detail for rappelling, retextures for current maps, 2 brand new maps, less janky/awkward door mechanics, more realistic responses to player actions from AI with the addition of AI being able to move hostages from one room to another, & a more frequent in-game achievements system so players can claim more rewards from the challenges they complete. personally, i think the customisation in ZH sits right in the "just right" zone, with just enough options to help your gameplay, while not being overwhelmed with so many options that you get lost for 2 hours just making a loadout. i do however, feel like the game lacks challenges and unlockable items. from the get-go, you have everything available at your disposal with no weapons or attachments to unlock based on level progression, they're just available from the second you enter the game for the first time. there are no skins to grind for besides what you can purchase with your earned game currency, which you get a fair amount of per match while the weapon skins are pretty dirt cheap for the currency you earn, so it feels like you don't even have to try to unlock them, they'll just come eventually when u have the currency. i'd really like to see some type of black ops 3 unlocking system, with all guns requiring certain level progression to unlock certain attachments for said weapon, and then skin unlocks based on headshot counts or something like this just to have a reason to play besides killing enemies in missions, because that is literally all it offers right now. i do have high hopes for ZH though, it has a lot of potential if the devs don't decide to give up on it and actually listen to their community.
Great video. However I was hoping you didn't do this video sooner knowing that Operation Meghna is around the corner in this month. Since you pointed out in your video that the gun sounds in Zero Hour are fine, but not great. Which the update would've addressed.
Good point! I didn't know they're changing up gun sounds in the new update! These games are just changing so fast I figured I'd just get the video out, and then make separate videos on the updates in the future. I guess we'll have to wait and see how that goes!
Bough both games cuz my friends wanted to play ground branch and I liked ready or not so I tried it out and had a fun time. Didn’t know whether to redownload ground branch or play zero hour so I looked up which was better, came across ur video and your summary at the end with the “if you like smaller maps and smart ai then you’ll like Zero Hour” really just put it all together. Waiting for zero hour to download!
Great video, thanks. I already Ground Branch. I think I will finally get Zero Hour (as I have Ready or Not too, but I am not super impressed - and the cinematic filter really breaks the immersion for me)
I play both along with the ismc mod on insurgency sandstorm. Ready or Not will be added when it's released. Probably gonna ditch insurgency at that point.
Based on your review, I bought Zero Hour, but to be honest the AI opposition is full with superhuman terrorists and bullet penetration also needs a lot of work. I spent the last three hours trying to do a solo run, slow and steady, silent like a dangerous fart, and terrorist shoots me through a solid concrete wall with a shotgun in pitch black where I use NVG, he doesn't even have a light on his gun and he doesn't wear NVG. The fakeout surrenders are way too common than not which really breaks immersion. It really ramps up the difficulty artificially when the rules of engagement states that I cannot fire on a surrendering suspect and I have two chances for a mistake against, I don't even know how many terrorists are on the default two maps in the beginning. I would love to enjoy the game but with the superhuman reaction speeds and a bunch of times soundless approach from NPCs doesn't quite allow for workarounds. It needs a LOT of work and has a LOT of potential to be a replacement R6 Siege but for now it won't be among my favorites until these basic issues get ironed out. In the current state I would refund if it wouldn't take over two hours to figure out these issues :P But given that I am stuck with it, I can only hope the devs continue polishing the game.
u can try ron too its better than zh and ground brach both!!btw ground branch is almost dead only 50-100 players active peak sad thing amn!!gb like a good game become dead also i agreed zh need more improvement but i like the decent gunplay and guns animations(lol those gun animations are like c ripoff of mw2019)
In Argentina (where I'm from) Ground Branch is cheaper (544,49 ARS / 4,57 USD) while Zero Hour costs twice as much (1.047,75 ARS / 8,80 USD). Even so I think I'll have to buy it, as Zero Hour looks like that Rainbow Six I was looking for, while Ground Branch is the Ghost Recon I was also looking for and now I have.
Zero hour is just an early acces game but ground branch is a few years old game, zero hour have time to make more guns, maps and make the game better with the community (they did it already) because it isnt launched yet
Pretty sure ground branch isn't technically released with how small the team is and how they're trying to make sure things are perfect before they update so they aren't wasting time... Could be wrong but last I saw it's still early access.
I've been looking at Ground Branch but bought "Zero Hour" AND "Ready or Not" for a total of 1.00 less than Ground Branch. Not saying Ground Branch isn't worth it and it looks like its going to be more complete and polished when done but by then I'm sure I can pick it up for about 11.99 also. :)
i enjoyed GB's AI.they alert each other if they hear you, they take cover ,lean and are really fun for me. but i might try zero it sounds good but i hope the ai isn't that buggy
Ground Branch is good, but man. Zero Hour is just on another level. If I had to recommend one game. It would be Zero Hour, hands down. GB is good, but it aint 30 bucks good.
I think both fill different hole imo I own both and with the recent updates to zero hour it's getting really good now!! It's even up there with ready or not now purely because it's less about being ultra realistic and more on the action side without throwing the tactical elements out. Another way of looking at it is ground branch equals ghost recon where zero hour is rainbow six
If you have a pc and a Xbox controller you can setup your steam controls to match the game controls for your controller and you can play zero hour with a controller. But I don’t know about ground branch. (If your a console player moving to pc)
Back Again after playing a lot of Ground Branch, and two things. Boy if they only made the AI a little better the game would be so much better, even if the ai did bug out a little. Zero Hour ai is the only thing thats better, besides some of the Graphics. If Ground Branch Increased the Maps Graphics and AI, I really feel like this game will keep getting bigger until its on Six Sieges Level. It has so much potential. Also if you could add friendly AI in Ground Branch that would add a fun challenge as well. Ground Branch pvp is super fun, even better than Breakpoint Pvp. The only main issue ive found with the AI in Ground Branch is them having their back turned to you when youre in sight of them and they know youre there, theyll still have their back turned to you and ive even turned up their turning speed, but its the fact that theyre not recognizing that they need to be looking in your direction, rather than flicking that way only when they shoot.
The superior alternative to Zero Hour is Ready Or Not. It’s more polished, ground-breaking in its AI technology, and feels better than both ZH and GB in gameplay.
you know which game had these things first? GHOST RECON FUTURE SOLDIER! literally every modern game borrows gunsmith from GRFS and you know what else? GRFS coop and VERSUS servers are back, search for GRFS 2022 multiplayer and prepare to be blown away
I have bought zero hour recently but I had a lot of problems staying connected.. it kept saying "unable able to send messages." or something. I was fed up with it and asked for a refund.
Let's say I already have Ready or Not. Would it make sense to get Ground Branch instead of Zero Hour, as RoN is already PvE focused and does it brilliantly for me? I'm just afraid of the low player count on GB. Great video btw, cheers.
Oh wow! Yah I didn't know that so I just used the release dates. It's really impressive that Zero Hour is able to compete so well with such less time. Thanks for letting me know!
Been playing zero hour, ai is very good and runs great on my pc which isn't quite up to date enough to play zero hour or ready or not. No regrets though zero hour is excellent, especially PvE, even playing solo is a blast.
Both - completely different tbh... I prefer Zero Hour, GB doesn't have that much content or story(also customization on your guns is actually not good, and armor customization do not affect anything)
3:13 a lot of people doesnt care about develop. time, cause developers could be still adding some more stuff (and then you can see, if they actualy care for the game, or if it was just for onetime buy money), but there is no room for "Ohhh they released it 2 years after us..." ... yep, so why you didnt take much more time for it 6:35 they are better now at least
Should be noted that Zero Hour uses Denuvo, which they’re not transparent about on the store page and you don’t find out until you’re actually in game. This was the deal breaker for me, because it was completely tanking performance. GB doesn’t use Denuvo and is a far better game in every respect imho, especially after the 1033 update. There really isn’t a comparison here.
Hello i am new tp this game, and i just want to ask... How do you turn on night vision, do bullet count and use grenade, pls help me i am having alot of trouble. 😢😢
Nvgs are need to be put on in the prep menu. When you have them you press g to activate them since they're in the tactical slot. To check ammo you press the h key I believe. And to use a grenade you also press g. Just check the bottom right and make sure it's the grenade equipped and not nvgs. You use the 3 and 4 key to switch between them. Hope that helps!
Do either games have a pre-mission planning/waypoint placing system like the old rb6 games? Nice that they have games like this nowadays with rb6 not being like that anymore lol
Or if not either of these, does anyone know of any games that do have that kind of pre-mission strategy anymore? I suppose the original rb6's are still playable technically if not lol
I think I'll cover the update separately and possibly reference ZH in that video, but with how fast these games are changing I'll definitely have to make a new comparison at least once a year. And also, I do know they have a smaller dev team, so the less frequent updates make a lot of sense. I for sure should've mentioned it in the video, I was just more focused on the consumer point of view since the end product is usually what they're more focused on. Thanks for the feedback!
ZH and GB are such damned good games. Both have a unique and ambitious vision, and are delivering well, but I prefer ZH. M7 productions have taken a ton of community feedback, and a rather insane work ethic. The pure amount of content this team of 20 people with a single programmer has put out in less than a year is staggering, and I’m convinced these guys don’t sleep. Even more crazy, Meheraj, their lead dev and programmer, as well as a few others actually bother to head down onto the game’s discord and interact with the community, explaining their decisions and taking feedback. They’re by for one of the most open dev teams I’ve ever seen, and have gained a really enthusiastic following. The game’s community is really solid, though some people in PvP get a little too competitive and K/D oriented for my tastes, most of them seem to be cool dudes. Now that we’ve finally got a good playerbase going, you can get into a match just about anytime, and I highly recommend the game to anyone who is into that type of game. Minus the occasional bug, it’s truly a great experience.
Zero Hour is a great game when it works but it almost never does. I can't recommend it to anyone because it's so buggy that my friend and I can't reliably play co-op together. I haven't played Ground Branch but I'd wait for things to get fixed with Zero Hour as the new update fixed almost none of the game breaking bugs.
@@brueski2249 Invisible enemies (though they might have fixed it because I haven't had it happen in a while), enemies who have aimbot and will see you through walls, score not tracking meaning I don't get points for the new maps and the biggest issue I get is randomly being kicked from the game. The game is unplayable when either my friend or I get kicked for no reason.
Zerou hour is great, realism and gameplay wise/multiplayer Ground branch is deffinitly supperior as Zerou Hour is pretty dead, IA imo in Ground branch is better as in both games you are facing terrorists, but something I dont like about ZH is that they tryna push you into following a ROE, wich is not wrong but it forces you to do stuff you shouldnt be able to do. If you are trying to infiltrate a terrorist situation in a stealth way, knowing they are dangerous and ready to kill, ROE changes, you are no longer required to make them surrender nor tell them to get the fuck on the ground, you aren't ingame interrogating them or making them surrender for INTEL as the game doesnt follow a storyline like gameplay. Wich means even if you are trying to play stealth, the game will instantly punish you for killing them without yelling GET DOWN ON THE GROUND wich not only blows your cover, as most of the time AI doesnt surrender, but you still have to spend valuable time waiting for them to fake the surrender stuff (wich is cool a first because they fake then try to shoot then you shoot them) but overtime it becomes notorious that it is literally the only thing they do and becomes boring, besides that in missions where there are bombs or other stuff its just even worse because it becomes annoying, and the game doesnt give you the option to not do this as to unlock maps you require 100 points in both regular and hardcore modes. In ground branch it feels like the AI is more basic because as the game is more realistic, they will literally kill you with one shot, making you play even a slower paced gameplay and more realistic and tactical one to avoid mistakes and being able to do things right. Playing for example to get intel with 50 terrorists in veteran diff (max one) is pretty much impossible, the game is more designed for you to test with friends and where it shines the most is with people that knows how to play a milsim (mainly veterans, police officers etc, playing with that kind of people makes the game amazing) and the community is filled, meanwhile in zero hour the game is pretty much dead and the community tends to be either toxic or not take the game seriously at all wich is stressing if you tryna get 100% in maps (wich also happens in RoN). I love both games, if you have a 4/5 man stack but rather are in more of a casual side play Zero Hour, because it is also cheaper, but if you want the full milsim experience you can just choose to play ground branch, ZH will be fine tho as it has more content. Ground branch AI makes IMO (as someone who plays a lot milsims) the game way more scarier, knowing they can kill you in one shot makes you not only to play more game sense wise aware, but also makes it more realistic knowing the AI is supposed to be mercenaries/terrorists, they will look out for you and appear from everywhere while ZH makes the AI more predictable and they after like a few hours of playing the will do the same thing and you'll realise it
just get both thats all i can say both are veryX100 realistic fps game i have both game and sometime i imagine both developers work together and make zero branch or ground hour
Zero Hour has me excited about gaming again because I see their vision and I have a dedicated 5 man and we love it! Zero hour is one of those games that will get better and better with updates.

Answer: Ready or Not when it comes out
Well it's (sorta) out now! Video coming soon!
In the next two updates we will see an even better groundbranch. Can't wait for it!
Thanks for the vid, it really helped me ! Gonna go for Zero hour because of the AI.
Cheers from Switzerland !
You should def make a new vid about this!!! Both games have excelled at a lot A LOT.
I feel welcomed back
Perfect! Haha
I've been looking at Ground Branch but bought "Zero Hour" AND "Ready or Not" for a total of 1.00 less than Ground Branch. Not saying Ground Branch isn't
worth it and it looks like its going to be more complete and polished when done but by then I'm sure I can pick it up for about 11.99 also. :)
i enjoyed GB's AI.they alert each other if they hear you, they take cover ,lean and are really fun for me. but i might try zero it sounds good but i hope the ai isn't that buggy
My little brother is game sharing with me and he has zero hour, definitely gonna have to play it now
Top marks for the time stamps!
Thanks! It's really annoying when videos don't have them IMO
great video man
Glad to hear it! Thanks!
great video bro!🤙🏆
(If your a console player moving to pc)
great video
Thanks Thanos! I don't think anyone could validate me more lol
Nice video!
Thanks!
8:14 nice message
Really, people should get both. Zero Hour is really inexpensive, often discounted in Steam
Really appreciate this, more videos like this =)
Back Again after playing a lot of Ground Branch, and two things.
Yknow what’s amazing this man giving us a FYI before gun fire
The superior alternative to Zero Hour is Ready Or Not. It’s more polished, ground-breaking in its AI technology, and feels better than both ZH and GB in gameplay.
You might have to update this to include Ready or Not now....
you know which game had these things first? GHOST RECON FUTURE SOLDIER! literally every modern game borrows gunsmith from GRFS and you know what else? GRFS coop and VERSUS servers are back, search for GRFS 2022 multiplayer and prepare to be blown away
But remember that Ground Branch is still in Pre-alpha.This game has potential.
Or might be abandoned, like it is right now
Just found this video personally I have both and I like both and hope both make a good name for themselves
Yes this video really convinced me to buy... Ready or Not
I have bought zero hour recently but I had a lot of problems staying connected.. it kept saying "unable able to send messages." or something.
I was fed up with it and asked for a refund.
Both, because they're two different types of tactical shooters.
I love ground branch but i can never ever find active pvp servers and thats such a downfall imo
Let's say I already have Ready or Not. Would it make sense to get Ground Branch instead of Zero Hour, as RoN is already PvE focused and does it brilliantly for me?
I'm just afraid of the low player count on GB.
Great video btw, cheers.
get gb, zero hour is really bad.
Nah.. GB has been in development for 9 years while zero hour has been in 2 years.
Oh wow! Yah I didn't know that so I just used the release dates. It's really impressive that Zero Hour is able to compete so well with such less time. Thanks for letting me know!
More than 9 years. It was announced in 2007.
Zero hour released a year ago..
@@rabbychowdhury4742 ok ?
@@zedx6626 He thinks people make games after releasing them lmao
great video bro
Been playing zero hour, ai is very good and runs great on my pc which isn't quite up to date enough to play zero hour or ready or not. No regrets though zero hour is excellent, especially PvE, even playing solo is a blast.
Both - completely different tbh... I prefer Zero Hour, GB doesn't have that much content or story(also customization on your guns is actually not good, and armor customization do not affect anything)
Zero Hour have really good AI until you find the one standing in the corner facing the wall and not reacting to anything.
Zero Hour X Grany Branch*
Because G.B development speed is so slow, that it will be something for my gran childrens to play with.
3:13 a lot of people doesnt care about develop. time, cause developers could be still adding some more stuff (and then you can see, if they actualy care for the game, or if it was just for onetime buy money), but there is no room for "Ohhh they released it 2 years after us..." ... yep, so why you didnt take much more time for it
6:35 they are better now at least
Zero Hour gun sounds are more realistic. IRL, guns don't make bass lol They crack
Well I already have ground branch and instead of ordering doordash tonight for food for 11 bucks they go get zero hour
Which one has the best realism with ragdolls and blood, and should I buy ready or not instead of those two games ?
haha in my country it's on the contrary, zero hour it´s more expensive while ground branch it´s cheaper xd
Hello i am new tp this game, and i just want to ask... How do you turn on night vision, do bullet count and use grenade, pls help me i am having alot of trouble. 😢😢
I am talking about 0hours
Nvgs are need to be put on in the prep menu. When you have them you press g to activate them since they're in the tactical slot.
To check ammo you press the h key I believe.
And to use a grenade you also press g. Just check the bottom right and make sure it's the grenade equipped and not nvgs. You use the 3 and 4 key to switch between them.
Hope that helps!
@@Popmandoop thanks man
@@inevitableme6885 Yah for sure!
Buy both? You PC gamers are lucky
Once the update for ground branch comes out can you do this again? Also ground branch has a smaller dev team
@@Popmandoop Yeah. Thanks for answering my question!
Guys this might be dumb but I’m legit asking cause I don’t know… so can I play fire wall zero hour on ps5 with just a controller ? I don’t have no VR…
Ground branch with insurgentsy sandtrorm option of enemy’s like bomber and zero hour AI I would buy that
ZH and GB are such damned good games.
I have zero hour, grond branch and RoN, why? Becouse i couldnt choose! My credit card can survive this month. Hopefully...
I've literally had no issues with coop even solo queuing
@@brueski2249 Invisible enemies (though they might have fixed it because I haven't had it happen in a while), enemies who have aimbot and will see you through walls, score not tracking meaning I don't get points for the new maps and the biggest issue I get is randomly being kicked from the game. The game is unplayable when either my friend or I get kicked for no reason.
That sucks man but i haven’t had those issues
I wanna get GB because it has solo play, but idk if it has controller support and the AI appears stupid
Also cover character models and animations!
Customization i never seen before - try Escape from Tarkov.
Tarkov customization is the bomb!
....
but you can't go slidey-slidey with the sighty-sighty
I really love this type game
Haha you and me both. Fingers crossed the genre continues to grow!
Play the rainbow six series and brother in arms
Ground branch AI makes IMO (as someone who plays a lot milsims) the game way more scarier, knowing they can kill you in one shot makes you not only to play more game sense wise aware, but also makes it more realistic knowing the AI is supposed to be mercenaries/terrorists, they will look out for you and appear from everywhere while ZH makes the AI more predictable and they after like a few hours of playing the will do the same thing and you'll realise it
Has ground branch become better or worse in these 2 yrs
Can you make an updated one because of zero hours big update
IMO Ground Branch feels more tactical
just get both thats all i can say both are veryX100 realistic fps game
i have both game and sometime i imagine both developers work together and make zero branch or ground hour
Dude zero hour has a server browser now :D
