Kolat beat NCAA Champ Sean O'Day of Edinboro when he was in high school. Kolat was a rare breed!

As blurry as this film is, it's a beautiful match with lots of guts and grace. That throw of the Whizzer early on was beautiful. And Kendall always does something amazing. I remember watching him in the Olympics, beautiful throws.

Cross can't be explained I don't think. Someone gets a clear throw, a clear take-down--clean but wait, wait, Cross is NOT down--what the hell happened? I sure don't know.

Kendall is so bendy and unorthodox. I find he is good at sucking his opponents into his game.

Cross was exciting to watch. He'd go for a risky move and try to quickly anticipate the counter. He scored many more points than were scored on him.

Seemed almost like he baited people with openings, that they just couldn't do anything with. And yet, they wore themselves out as he turned into gumby, them not getting a single point most of the time.

Kolat was amazing....but there was a reason that "Gumby" was an Olympic champ.

I love freestyle and despise it too. Scoring by fluke is unpredictable. How did we ever allow the world body of wrestling invoke these rules on the sport. If the world games, pan am games and Olympics invoked the rules of collegiate wrestling, it'd not be close between the United States and anyone else.

He was a junior at this point because his parents made him fail eighth grade so he would gain more wrestling experience and maturity

For all his accolades, Kendall's style is garbage. I can't stand watching him wrestle. Also, Kolat is a stud.
