Album: Load
Lyrics:
I'm diggin' my way
I'm diggin' my way to somethin'
I'm diggin' my way to somethin' better
I'm pushin' to stay
I'm pushin' to stay with something
I'm pushin' to stay with something better
I'm sowin' the seeds
I'm sowin' the seeds I've taken
I'm sowin' the seeds I take for granted
This thorn in my side
This thorn in my side is from the tree
This thorn in my side is from the tree I've planted
It tears me and I bleed
And I feel
Caught under the wheels roll
I take the leech
I'm bleeding me
Can't stop to save my soul
I take the leash that's leading me
I'm bleeding me
Ooh, I can't take it
Caught under wheels roll
Oh, the bleeding of me
Of me
The bleeding of me
Caught under wheels roll
I take the leech
I'm bleeding me
Can't stop to save my soul
I take the leash that's leading me
I'm bleeding me
Ooh, I can't take it
Caught under wheels roll
Oh, the bleeding of me
Oh, the bleeding of me
I am the beast that feeds the beast
I am the blood
I am release
Come make me pure
Bleed me a cure
I'm caught, I'm caught, I'm caught under
Caught under wheels roll
I take that leech
I'm bleeding me
Can't stop to save my soul
I take the leash that's leading me
I'm bleeding me
Oh, I can't take it
I can't take it
I can't take it
Oh, the bleeding of me
I'm diggin' my way
I'm diggin' my way to somethin'
I'm diggin' my way to something better
I'm pushin' to stay
I'm pushin' to stay with somethin'
I'm pushin' to stay with something better
With something better
Anyone who says Load is worthless has clearly never heard Bleeding Me..
What about King Nothing? These songs are both really good. I've no clue why anyone hates this Album, it absolutely boggles my mind
one of the best albums they made mate
I agree, some good ones on it! People get so snobby about music. Eff that.
Bleeding Me and Outlaw Torn should be played on the regular.
I’m still rockin this in. 2020...👊🏾
“This thorn in my side is from the tree I've planted”
Hits different 20 years later
Oh yesss.
Oh...snap....
So that's what that pain in my side is from? Shit it's true.
Jesus, yes
It's because it took that long for that tree to grow.
If any other band made this song I guarantee it would be praised beyond belief, but because it’s Metallica people jumped on the hate train. James is giving it his all on this song, and this song is truly a masterpiece.
Agree 100% - Also, no leaf clover from the S&M concert
As per James, it's os favourite song of Metallica
Who said they hate this song?
Either way yes this song is amazing
True music fans know the gems from both load albums
Shhh it’s fine, better for us
My last comment was 3 years ago , god damn I’m 43 still listening to this masterpiece, I only had 20 thumbs up , good music will live forever...
50 yo a girl and I'm still listening right with ya bro! \m/
51 and never get tired of this
50 here, too...and ALWAYZ there w 'tallica!
I am 38 now but i was 14 when this came out and it has aged like fine wine. Beautiful song.
Dude this song was released before I was even a sperm cell, but I still listen to it lol
This is hands down one of their best songs they ever did.
Agreed
AGREED.
nan, they have too much good song before this one
Agree. Top 10 Met song for me irregardless of era
Agreed
In my humble opinion one of the best Metallica's songs ever
yup bub, you got an ear on ye
Agreed one of their best
Second best song after Damage inc. imo
Agreed
Absofuckinlutley!
Ahhhh summer of ‘96. I received my first head, drank my first beers and had my first love. Every night after we’d talk on the phone, I would listen to this whole album right through. Good memories. I should revisit this album more often.
I miss those 90s myself, friend.
Pity u where over 50 at the time
That was a good summer
I was in Okinawa, one of those few albums (cassette tapes) I would listen to all the way through. No exaggeration, I listened to it for like 3 months straight every night. Just pulled it up on UA-cam recently and holy schnikes I forgot just how much I loved this album!! Sick
“I received my first head” is an insane flex
This and Outlaw Torn are some of the most epic Metallica songs ever.
Yep. The Otlaw Torn is possibly their best song imo, absolutely the most epic one they've written, so much euphoria and feeling in it
Agree
Tom Chamberlain to be honest my favourite song from Metallica is suicide and redemption, a 10 minute instrumental with a James solo that kicks ass. I hate loudwire since they said it was the worst song by metallica
The house that jack built 🤘
They're so damn underrated. Even this album is portrayed in such a bad way.
First time listener's guide to this song.
2:45 "Nice chorus, I suppose."
4:07 "Ok, this is actually gold!"
5:35 "CAUGHT UNDA WHEEEEALZ ROOOOOOOOAAAALLAH!!"
this comment deserves more respect.
lol I had the same reaction
Bro the whole song is great but the icing is hammond solo at 6:48 and the next 15 sec
U r CORRECT
Oh yes .. Lol.
Their most underrated song on their most underrated album.
+DashCat9 easily one of their most well composed songs
+DashCat9 My favourite Metallica song!
I can't say Load is a great album but this song is a masterpiece and one of their greatest songs. I can't imagine anyone who likes hard rock even if they prefer thrash not liking this. I know opinions are opinion but I think anyone trashing this song is purposely trying to dislike it. When the chorus kicks in and the interplay between James and Kirk(I'm pretty sure he was aloud to play rhythm on this one) it's undeniable. The guitars and wordless vocals on the pre chorus give me chills every time. If pain and longing had a sound it would be that
+geekrockrats I love this. I liked Death Magnetic, but I love this.
+DashCat9 not a huge fan of load but this song is one of metallicas best period
23 years ago, I had a boyfriend that sang this song at our family karaoke night (yes, we actually had one, lol). He blew us all away and we were all left staring at him in amazement when it was over, goosebumps everywhere. That was his very first time singing for an "audience" and he nailed it. Today, he still sings in a heavy metal local cover band, because of that night and this song.
Side note: This is hands down one of the best songs Metallica ever released - on one of their most underrated albums.
what song ?
❣️❣️❣️ have an awesome man yes you do
Nothing wrong with karaoke night lol
I totally agree and what courage. It’s one thing to sing in front of strangers and face judgement. Facing judgment from people you love takes Balls. Congratulations!!!! What cover band does he belong? I would like to support the efforts.
amazing what stepping out there can do - i’m glad he was able to go somewhere with his talent
Listening to Metallica is helping me get through some tough days lately 🖤
That's what I do
metoo. 😑
That’s relatable
Only way to get past it is to go through it. Best to ya
Keep smiling we still here and have time to shine
One of the most underrated Metallica songs of all fucking time. Absolutely brilliant.
No shi^t
I agree completely. I admit I started listening to them as a kid back in the Puppets and Lightning and eventually Black album days, but looking back, Load is a fucking GREAT album, and their "blues/hardrock/bar room" sound was amazing. Bleeding Me is definitely in my top 3 Metallica songs and I cannot pick a favorite.
I was about to write the same thing
Joshua Smith
Low Man lirycs better than nothing else matter :D
They've played this live a few times, I saw them live this year when they were doing By Request and they only played their popular songs, good as they were, songs like this, Outlaw Torn and Until It Sleeps would've been good.
Metallica is on their league of their own. You can’t lable them as thrash metal, heavy metal or whatever else. The lable , the style, the genre is METALLICA
I misread it as "the table"
❤ As I scream the lyrics it soothes the soul. 💯🔥
It's a morbid thought , But I feel , Had James hetfeild overdosed on Alcohol/Drugs in 2001 and died.
We all would appreciate the Load/Reload much better and call songs like these his "suicide notes" and cry .
Count your blessings that he's alive and well and appreciate the masterpiece this album is .
Wow, this made me think. Thank you for your words.
Most of Metallica’s catalog before Reload fit into that category.
Glad he’s still alive, death magnetic is an awesome album too
Like Down in a hole ?
Yeah I feel the same about Ozzy and Bark at the Moon
The genius in this song is knowing when not to put certain parts in. Like after the first round of vocals, they could have put the chorus after it, but holding off until the next round makes the chorus have so much more impact. Masterpiece this song.
Lars is an excellent song arranger
@@tomzadvydas1758 Literally the only reason why I don't want him to leave. In an ideal world, he helps write, is the manager but is replaced as the actual player, but I'm at peace with him staying. He's still decently good and its his band.
@@sirzechsazazel1150Lars may not be the best drummer but songwriting and arranging wise like this he’s a genius!
@@goldenwolf8081 I agree
@@sirzechsazazel1150 there are many way more talented drummers than Lars, but I wouldn't want anyone other playing with Metallica. He fits in here. From the beginning the band was James and Lars. One of them is gone and Metallica is done.
I ended a long time relationship back in '05 and so I decided to make a change, I decided to move from the Garden State to the Sunshine State, loaded my car with whatever I could fit and drove away. While on the road she called me and acted surprised to the fact that I had indeed left, perhaps she thought I was joking. So after hanging the phone I pulled on a rest area, few thoughts crossed my mind, the most persistent one was making a U turn and driving back to what I have left behind.
I had random iPod music on the background and this song played, it gave me a sense of peace to know that I was diggin' my way to somethin' better. Played it a few more times and kept driving South! The power of Music ♪♫
that's awesome!
+itzalexplox they are😉
Righteous!!!
Good stuff, thanks for sharing mate.
Good for you man :)
"This thorn in my side is from the tree I planted" ...damn
Shouldn't it be bush?
It's from a poem by lord Byron. Pretty cool to think hetfield referenced it
my life is messed up because I made it that way. We need more honesty in society
"Rose" would have been better.
It tears me and I bleed 😳
So much emotion, so much pain. James has certainly been through a lot.
We all have! I wished I could express it like he does
He's been through so much like being a spoiled kid that became a multimillionaire when he was 20 years old.
@@RL-zk9wb if you are feeling resentful for the way you life has gone, just say that
@Drail
That was a very weird, random thing to say. Lol
@@RL-zk9wbmoney doesn’t make life stress and trauma free .
This entire album was genius level stuff. Especially considering that the band completely moved away from their regular sound and ended up creating one of their finest work. Especially this song and Until It Sleeps. We may never be able to see any band create songs like these ever again.
Also outlaw torn. Song is epic.
HuRr SeLlOuTiCa
Load is a masterpiece. I realize James didnt love it so much but the southern blues bar room hard rock sound they created with Load is pure fucking gold.
Load has aged very very well, I’ll give it that
It baffles me that people compare this album to st anger. What an insult.
From the Load/Reload Era, Fixxxer, The Outlaw Torn, and Bleeding Me are absolute masterpieces.
dont forget devils dance, the memory remains, and carpe diem baby
In my opinion I would add Low Mans Lyric
Absolutely
Mistress Irish Wench
Both of those albums were masterpieces in their entirety. My faves are Low Man's Lyric, this song, The Outlaw Torn, Fixxxer, Ain't My Bitch and Thorn Within though!
James back in rehab; had to listen to this one. Get well brother!
I know sad day for us all
Im 40 years old been a fan since i was 8.. This band has changed my life.. I used to be an addict.. They got me through!! He will be as strong as ever!
Came here for the exact same reason, cannot imagine being the biggest band in the world, having tons of money and being on the road so much, I myself wouldn't make it. Live fast Die Hard
Raoul Duke huge fan, 40ish😉 struggled and still sometimes but I know Jämes can get though this. He’s strong as hell in his heart. We’re all with you brother
Raoul Duke indeed hope all is well james we love you NZ🇳🇿 come hang out with us when y’all better 🤘
Help im obsessed with this song,
Its absolutely gorgeous, i dont even know how to describe it
Me too🫀🫀🫀🫀🫀
OOOOHH AH CAN’T TAKE ITAAHH!!
Don't describe. Just enjoy.
Slow burn
13 year old boy: *listens to **4:49** thinking it is the end*
His father: What are you doing? *It's only halfway over!*
And the best is yet to come!
Im 11 and ik the time
moreover, is just starting
It fools me every time
Everything around me goes in slo-mo starting from here
Load only gets better with time.
At this rate it will be their best. /s
Jokes aside, it is a damn good album. If it were written by anyone else it would be thought of better, but it is pure kickass music.
@komison That's what he said. :)
You said it!
Bleed on me metalica great song ever seen
Seriously. The more this shit ages the better it gets. I just don't think people could get behind it at the time because of how different it was from anything they had done before. All together this album just illustrated that Metallica could have skull fucked every alt-metal and rock band out there had they wanted too. It was a message to the changing music industry and up and coming bands. DONT FORGET WHO YOUR DADDY IS. plain and simple.
This band changed my life forever...
Same brother man. Much love.
Saved my sanity
Sad part this the only music that calms me down enough to slow down and think....I multitask all day. I make good money but without this music...specifically from load reload and black. my sanity dwindles.....remind me of being a semi-carefree teen again. Worrying about sports and that last minute assignment and saying fk it.
best band ever period
Same here. A great reason to live for, once seen what's in this shitty world.
I love both their thrash and their slower stuff, who cares how fast or complex music is as long as it sounds good? Epic track 🩸🤘
I'll never forget struggling with addiction and depression and basically having to go stay with my mom while I worked things out and just listening to this over and over
I've never dealt with addiction, but I have dealt with depression and yes this song helped me in many ways like it hopefully helped you.
I will say I'm glad you're still here my friend.
@@ghostryder0079
Considering it's not caused by dietary factors or something like heavy metal toxicity, depression can act very much like an addiction. There's always some type of coping mechanism with dysfunctional subconscious programming- mine was booze and tobacco, for about a decade.
I hope you're in a better place mentally, emotionally and physically. Keep your head up. I wish you the best
This was my Recovery song as an addict. Reminded me, I did it to myself. I put the leash on
Just remember when I was just 12 years old kid, my older brother got into university in another city in Iran, when he came back for the first time after two months he brought a cassette with himself which had 2 songs of Metallica on one side, "Devil's dance" and "Bleeding me". He played the song on the cassette player and translated the lyrics at the same time for me. Well I fell in love with the lyrics with the song. And as of that day I'm still a crazy fan of Metallica.
Awesome Dude!! 🤘 I Love hearing stories like this. Rock on.
Cool story man!!
That is such a cool story, especially him translating the lyrics.
An amazing story. Love seeing how others discover some of my deepest life loves.
Join the Asylum!
Seriously, how can people not like this album?
+josejalepeno63 we were young and we got so much energy back then and we just cant get enough of that 89 concert epicness
+josejalepeno63 Metallica started as a thrash metal band, this is more rock/hard rock which is a very different sound than thrash metal
+josejalepeno63 Because its different and people don't like change but I love this album and reload
+josejalepeno63 It was different. People wanted a metal album, and they got a bluesy rock album. I get it...but it's still great.
To be fair while their are some fantastic songs on Load/reload, they are in between a lot of less fantastic songs. I like all the songs, they have a similar dark vibe, but bleeding me and the outlaw torn are on a whole different level to Ronnie, Cure and Poor twisted me.
It would have been better if they'd released the best songs from load and reload on one album, then released the rest as B sides. That way when people listened to it, it didn't go from masterpiece to okay. The filler is probably a big reason why people don't appreciate it, it's just too much to listen through to get to the great stuff. Just my opinion
Probably the most underrated song in the history of rock. This song slaps so hard.
Metallica “selling out” and making Load and Reload are exactly why they’ve lasted as long as they did. They would’ve imploded otherwise. They have more songs they can play at a live show (with good result) than any other band I can think of….by a fucking mile
Your opinion will change when you listen to Megadeth's new Album which is out on Friday...
@@raphaellall6270 And Megadeth did more of the same...
One of their best songs. Anyone who claims this isn't metal or doesn't belong to Metallica is not a fan of real music or the band itself. Music evolves and it's universal.
Ceyda Charming Heavy Metal Hitman face book \m/ :) \m/
+Ceyda Charming Well I still wouldn't really call the song itself metal. But it's still a bitching tune, metal bands are allowed to have non metal influences, makes em better musicians.
+Ceyda Charming
+nimrod jones so fucking what?
This is not metal. But it's some damn fine hard rock
This is probably the most underrated Metallica song.
This video has over 3 million views with alot of comments praising this song and saying that it is one of their best songs. It is definitely not underrated.
*****
I don't fully see your logic. Other Metallica songs have way more views and get way more praise even though they aren't much, if at all, better than Bleeding Me. I guess it depends on how you define underrated.
JB Johnson You mean that bleeding me isn't as popular, there is a difference. It's like saying that slayer is underrated because justin bieber is alot more popular.
Underrated means "undervalued." I don't think Bleeding Me has gotten the credit that it's deserved. Popularity, or lack thereof, is a part of that. I stand by my original statement.
Correct. Underrated means undervalued. Your argument is that the song is not underrated because it has praise. All underrated things have praise by some. Underrated means it should be praised by more than it is. If you ask the vast majority of Metallica fans for their top 10 favorite songs, this won't be on 95% of them. An underrated song that appears late on an underrated album, but man it hits the spot every now and then.
One of the most underrated songs ever probably.
How can anyone not love this album?
@@HellStar82 your opinion
to be honest this is my fav metallica album and i dont give shit what everyone saying :)
At a point in my life were i can truly understand why a person commits suicide I use this song as a way to help push through the darkness to the light. Im digging my way....
i feel ya ...... Keep on keepin on... Dont give up. shit will get better
You’re not alone brother !!! Keep fighting the good fight. Don’t give up, Soon we will rise!!
Check out "Nutshell", Alice in Chains, definitely the song that I play when I'm in the mood to kick the off switch
Bro I sofucking can relate to your situation! things do go to shits quite often for me too !but my brother I’m here to tell you ,your still young enough to “severe that leash that’s been leading you” I on the other hand am a 50yr old homeless herion addict who’s lost everything, but the one thing they can’t take from me is my me-fuckin-tallica!!!like yourself I’ve been a die-hard fan since 1982 !! I once followed them thru 5states on the black and load tours!metallica has gotten me thru some times that I shouldn’t even be here to tell you about ,I assure you Metallica will never lie to you, cheat on you,or ever forsake you in any shape way or form!i said all that to say this ,I admire your consciousness of what they do for you to help you get thru the “gloomy”times,so kiddo keep on acknowledging the real shit, and sharing with others ,cuz your saving life’s and don’t even know it!i fucking love it!my moto is “KEEP PUSHING FORWARDS NO MATTER WHAT,NO MATTER HOW BAD IT GETS” your a very special fan !!!please don’t ever forget that! Goddamn kirk. He has written some of the best and iconic riffs in metallica.
Hell yeah partner!
🤘🏽
The Main Riff of Enter Sandman is from him. Enter Sandman is their second most famous song haha
Hammond is right there with page bro
Riff this 6:45 and the next 15sec
La Raie Publique I heard he actually took inspiration from a Soundgarden song.
Growing up with Metallica and they were my first concert in 87 monsters of rock with Van Hagar, seeing them grow musically I could see them in there music changing as they got older and as I grew older was one thing in my life I enjoyed and they will always be with me wherever I may roam as time takes toll on me in life.Playing guitar when I was only 16 trying to learn master of puppets shredded my fingers and damage incorporated especially. Now at 50 arthritis set in and my hands don’t function like they used too but I just turn them on and smile. Thanks guys for all the years and Cliff we will never forget you brother.
Hey they were my first concert for the black album 92, 16 years old. Still jamming today my friend.
i'm 16 now and hope to learn the guitar sometime this year, hopefully I can learn master of puppets \m/
Saw them in 1988 on the monsters of rock tour, 3 rivers stadium w Van Hagar

This song has so much energy....off one of there best albums. I said that when it first came out and got laughed at.
Idk your age, but l’m 40 and the Black album ruled my high school amongst the fresh drivers ;)
Load came out & l literally had the best time of my life. These memories molded us forever, because we lived through the 80’s-early 90’s albums, and Load was well hated by our elders, but we were ecstatic about it. (Plus radio was still helpfully rampant!!) 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Energy = AJFA. This is relax and chill music
one of the best albums (if not the best) from 90's.
both excellent albums, but for me Load is better
yes of course. that means their taste in music sucks
+FelipeGutierreZeo Both really, really good albums…
Hmmm no.
Vulgar display?
Load is like what X-Factor was for Iron Maiden. Different from what people expected, but meriting its own value, and having a lot of depth. Dark and brooding, this album carries Hetfield's deep personal emotions and feelings, including about his dad who was suffering from cancer (Until It Sleeps), or about Cliff's death (Outlaw Torn).
maksphoto78 And his struggle in addictions too (Bleeding Me)
maksphoto78 I also like The Memory Remains from the sister-album.
maksphoto78 X-Factor is a great album. Unfortunately Metallica and Maiden didn´t continue that path due that albums didn´t sell good.
+maksphoto78 It was hetfields mom that suffered with cancer..
whenever I hear James singing "I can't take it" between 5:58 and 6:05, it always gets me.
It's like he's crying for help
These are easily some of the best lyrics Hetfield has written. As time has gone on, they seem to age even better. I liked Load when it came out, but I love it more now----and ive been a metallica fan for a long time, since the 80's. If you take the best songs from both Load and ReLoad, you have a kickass collection of songs.
from the bridge at 5:19.....through the hook....when James says "I take the leash that's leading MEEEE!!!!" with such torment and helplessness. shows insanely good production and performance.
and the solos. damn. what a song.
This song still rocks, 19 years later.

Kyle Batteson 19 years?!?! God dammit...
Devin Pierce ya... we're old...
+Kyle Reece i was 4 years old when this came out xD
I was -6 years old and I love this song. it used to be my lullaby.
the lyrics in this song hits hard about addiction perfectly describes it
💯✌️😎
I'm a old school fan but this song fucking tops their best. Up there with Fade to Black, For Whom the Bells Toll, Sanitarium, Seek and Destroy, Master of Puppets, etc and that says a hell of a lot!
I never understood how the haters could say they started to suck when they put this album out. Any band that can make EVERY SINGLE ALBUM sound different than the others are TRUE MUSICIANS! The guys have reinvented themselves through each and every album and have remained timeless by doing so!
By the way, this song, in my opinion, is right up there with Fade to Black, Sanitarium, One, and all their other songs that are soft and hard at the same time. They've mastered that combination!
definitely man. load and reload are amazing albums. not thrash metal bit that era had passrd snd metallica evolved
amazing albums and tunes, fade to black will forever remain the greatest to me for personal reasons!
Hey totally agree, they evolve, their music evolves. I say love it or hate it, it's all subjective. When I was a teen, I dug Fade to Black and Master of Puppets. Still can listen to some songs on it but prefer Load and Reload now that I'm..eeek...nearing 40 haha.
absolute metallica, no equavilant. you nailed it brother
Haters didn't like it because it was not thrash, they didn't give a chance to these albums. Such a shame, they were amazing and i still listen to them !
i miss 90's so much...
Mef Dee yea can tell by that Riddler profile....lol awesome
Love dhat Riddler...

One of the solos by Kirk. This song and this album is sooo underrated. Takes me back to high school every time I hear this.
This is one of their best of all time! Most don't agree this was the best of times for Metallica but take the time to listen and comprehend the meaning of this song relates to life for all of us.
D SS, IYHO, that is.
Load and Reload only get better with time.
yes exactly..when I listened to them a decade ago I hated them so much but now I love em
They have aged well
They have aged VERY well. This song is my fucking anthem.
Load and Reload were awesome to begin! I mean Load got us this, king nothing, the outlaw torn and SO much more! Reload got us Fuel, Low Mans Lyric, and even more than that! Both of them deserve much more praise!
They age like fine wine or liquor
No band to me sounds even close to Metallica. I don't mean they are the best, though I do hold that opinion, but there sound is very unique and powerful.
Tool is neck and neck with them, listen to bottom and also pushit.
Tool doesnt sound like metallica at all
@@majaratti9031 I think he was just saying they're really unique. Like system of a down or something. Just ridiculously unique.
I listen to alot of deathcore, death metal, ect. Really heavy shit, I'm always amazed at how much power Lars is able to bang out of the drums even without the insane double pedal of todays metal.
Metallica and Tool are light years apart. Metallica is my number 1 band! Have listened to them from their beginning and even now! Tool is my number 2 band! Absolutely love Tool!
But they are way apart
By far one of their best, and only gets better with progression..and time 👍
Kylo Ren, IYHO, that is.
I LOVE the transition from heavy guitar to clean guitar at the end. !!!!!
One of the best, most under rated Metallica songs of all time on one of the most under rated and best albums of all time.
+AdoreYouInAshXI fully agreed! This one, Outlaw Torn and Low Man's Lyric are so underrated. And they're so good!
Back in the day this album was a big departure from Black, Was not fully appreciated by fans. Today as fans grew older, They appreciate it more
AdoreYouInAshXI, IYHO, that is.
this song should never end
I can feel the rage pulsing through my veins with this one...
James's vocal is so good at this album and at reload
this song can never be played loud enough !
indeed!!!
this album is kirk's....I mean, it was perfect for him and his style, you can tell in his solos that he was really feeling it
Probably due to Hetfields lyrics, vocals. Can get a feel of him dealing with his own mistakes and rectifying them under what seems a musical crucifixion of his own seeds and deeds.
***** I agree, all 4 instruments have their own unique parts in this album! I like it!
think youre right though i think this is a total james "song"
not only Kirk but every1 ,James sounds better then on any album after or before , Kirk as u said , Lars god.. :) bass everything about this album is so kickass ,i cant even explain
That solo is sum of Kirk himself. The tone, style, composition and wah ofcourse.
When you fight all your life against demons… listening for the 10000000 time.
I can’t take it…
hmm, yeah im pretty sure im pretty clost to that.
Man I remember when I bought this album back when I was like 12 or 13 and played it for my mom. She knew who Metallica was but she never liked heavy metal and all I remember is rocking out while she pretended to jam along, knowing deep down all she wanted to do was put back in her KC & The Sunshine Band CD. 20 some odd years later and this song is still fire.
this is how you write a song
Walls write deez fuken nuts
If it's from the heart then you know its good one
This solo is one of the all-time greatest.
r2014d2014 man that fucking solo makes me get a boner dude Kirk really fucking nailed it
r2014d2014, IYHO, that is.
Load & Re Load both have some incredible tracks that honestly shows an even more talented side to Metallica yet so many hated on them!
This is probably one of the finest Masterpieces of heavy metal ever conjured up. Honest is an understatement. Bleeding Me? He is laying his soul for all to see. Revealing his fall as well as his climb. Love it!!!!!
People who talk shit about the Load/Reload albums have clearly never given them a proper chance, if they've ever even bothered to listen to them all the way through. This is a fantastic song and one of the few tracks where Hammet's wah pedal actually elevates a relatively simple guitar solo, making it sound massive.
The only issue with them to me was the amount of filler tracks that contrast to the amazing tracks like this.
Sir Psycho Sexy I have always said they sucked compared to the first five albums but they are good if you consider them alone
Yeah, Load/Reload should have been 1 album. They could cut some songs easily.
Love all them's songs
this is one of my favorites from them also until it sleeps ,king nothing ,nothing really else matters, turn the page ,disappear are all their best.
"Can't stop to save my soul..." - Yes you can James, and you WILL.
To all active addicts as well as those in recovery, stay strong. YOU CAN DO IT. You just have to fight, and keep fighting, the demons that have a hold of your soul. Fight for your life. Fight for your family. Most of all, FIGHT FOR YOURSELF, you're worth every bit of sobriety. There IS hope. I'm living proof! I've regretted so many things I've said and done while using, but I've never, EVER regretted getting/staying sober. It's a tough battle, but worth it in the end. Take care my friends
Thank you and take care of yourself too, this world is beautiful with both good and bad, keep fighting and make the most out of it.
@@mountains_beaches98 You're absolutely right! I couldn't agree more. And thank you!! I appreciate you (:
Hero in of the day..
The demons of addiction are really King Nothing. Just call them out.
lonh hard road outa hell!
In my top 5 favorite Metallica songs. James and Kirk are phenomenal on this one. The lyrics and emotion make this song a pure gem.
Going through some tough times and trying to break free from this horrible lifestyle I'm living and this song is truly the perfect song that describes what I'm going through. I hope things will get better and for now, this is my song to fight the battle between me and myself.
things will get better. ask for help and commit to yourself. you have way more life ahead of you than behind you.
believe, you have potential, you will get through this, i believe in you, and its an amazing song that has also helped me get through tough times aswell, its amazing, and things will get better, good luck
As someone who loves Ride The Lightning to death as a Metallica album. Load is a fine effort from Metallica. It's different, The songs have a lot of awesome messages, The guitar, bass and drums all have that chill out take it easy feeling but it also still keeps the Metallica attitude that was laid down with Kill Em All. Most of the songs are wonderful and it shows a turning point in Metallica. Much like what Master of Puppets, And Justice For All and The Black Album did for different progression. Plus when the song starts to pick up at around the end of 4 minutes it gets awesome.
another kid..your time will come
michael mcneil Is this an insult? Just wondering.
that would imply that I am saying something like "do as I say, not as I do"..No. No insult.
Well, I guess I don't having anything to go crazy about anything then.
Just out of curiosity, when your parents seemingly correct you, do you feel the need to "go crazy"? ..now that was a 'go crazy' comment. Dahhhh. Peace bro
It still sounds great even in 2019. Still one of the most underrated Metallica songs
Couldn't remember the name of it so had a few beers and sat down going through albums to find it..fucking tune.
@@xMorbidArtx Chalk it down friend!! Like a fine wine! 🤘
The hole album is like wine. Fuckinright. Awesome tunes
fuck ya kicks ass
It will sound great even in 3019.
Metallica are one of the few bands that get better as you mature and actually start to make more sense as you mature, it only makes their music more powerful
My Favorite Metallica Song. !!
Load & Reload are fantastic
One of the best songs ever. Reminds me of two close friends who were twins and both have passed away. We played this song over and over
Darren Flerlage
It makes me think of someone visiting a loved one's grave in a cemetery.
Demon Rantz 6 u 7
Video Demon
Load is better
Reload was an after thought.
The best song from Load.
That and the Outlaw Torn.
Justin jonston King Nothing is pretty good too
***** I think the whole album is really good.
It's an underrated album. Don't really see the hate on it.
***** Me neither
The most underrated metallica song, actually the entire album. For me it is one of the best for the lyrics and the sound.
Metallica is my generations Led Zeppelin and this is one of their best!
Load and Reload and both Awesome albums.
6:27 I always remember this part so well. I just love that part of the solo!
metallica the greatest band to ever walk this earh
I remember when i started listening Metallica i was in love with their songs but since English was my 3rd language and back at that time we juste started the basics of english, so to understand the lyrics i spent hours trying to translate with a dictionary and a paper ( no Google XD) so it was very hard to put a sens in some phrases :( but i never stopped because this music was and still in my veines... Thanks for all these treasors
The black album load and reload defined them as a band. Not one trick ponies. But a heavy metal blues band who were able to bridge the gap between a heavy genre of music and something more melodic. They are exceptional and james Hatfield will always be in my eyes one of the greatest artists of all time!
For some reason I just never liked the black album
Would like to see a metal band similar to Metallica and Testament that not only does metal genres like thrash metal, heavy metal, groove metal, progressive metal, doom metal, sludge metal, stoner metal, alternative metal, nu metal, and death metal, but also rock genres like hard rock, blues rock, alternative rock, grunge, southern rock, country rock, folk rock, soft rock, and acoustic rock.
this song gave me strength when I needed it battling heroin addiction. story of my life.
Ralph Cenatiempo
Bleed no more bro
If you have to. Tighten that leash.
Hope you won that battle friend.
In my opinion this is the 'darkest' of Metallica albums. Quintessential to all the late 90's rock scene.
That growl in James' voice is unreal
l listen to this song at least once on a daily basis, that's how much I love it.
It helped me through a hard time in my life
Metallica saved my Life so many times
Thank you JH....🤘🏼
You should also be thankful to Kirk Hammett as he had written half of the solos and riffs that you can hear on their albums , specially on ride the lightning.
Kirk hasn't written nearly half of the riffs lol
+Yuval Vernik the fuck lol nope
Main writers were James&Lars
Kirk has had the idea of Enter Sandman's riff which is great as well no doubt
Riyad Mahrez yea and when you forget about that shit they'll watch U rot while takin your money and smearing your faults in your face. a reason I listen. ppl t dumb.
probably one of the most underrated metallica songs
vinsanity982 you're underrated and you're not even a song or a band or even famous
One of the best Metallica songs PERIOD
Robert Knobloch, IYHO, that is.
Ppl that do not like album are crazy they rocked hard as hell in this album and in show
I'll never forget the change this album brought to the Metallica scene. The diehards cringed, I did too at first. After about 6 months this album grew on me and has continued to age like a fine whiskey.
And now one message for the metalheads... This is music for your soul and not for your head :D
This metal head agrees.. N to think so long ago when this album dropped i thought i hated it. This song just shuffled its way to one of my favs n i am learning it note for note as we speak
It works for both for me :P
I played this at my divorce
Me too 😭
Same
Same....
what do you mean at your divorce
i know that feel bro
I've been listening to this song for 25 years. I'll still be listening to it in another 25 years.
me too. untill the end.. worthwile though.
